Didn't even last 2 years
Bought July 2020 - died March 2022. Nothing caused it to stop working, it was plugged into the same outlet for the 18 months with no impacts etc, I just noticed no Internet in a place were it had been and saw that the lights were out on the extender. Also found it difficult to set up, the WPS option did not work - that may have been the fault of my modem WPS but who knows. There were no other alternative instructions included, had to go on the Internet to find the alternative method to connect. The instructions did not make clear that the device I was trying to log onto the extender with had to have the ethernet lead disconnected. After talking with a tech friend this was established and got the extender working.

Ease of setup is standard. No issues in this department.
Very patchy connectivity and does not hold a stable or strong connection.
You will need to place this pretty close to your router which kind of defeats the point.
It also get pretty warm and can occasionally make a humming noise when running, which can be annoying at night.
Do not use this extender if you have security cameras. You WILL lose connectivity and you will often be forced to reset your devices and re-enter your Wi-Fi details which is extremely annoying.
To sum up, this is a piece of trash.
Totally unreliable, unstable, poor range and over priced.
Netgear EXS6190 Wi-Fi Extender
Very good product, does what it needs to do very well. Only problem is lack of instructions. Product will not pair with Telstra Gateway Modem through WPS. No information on how to pair without WPS. You need to have a Tablet or Mobile Phone connected by Wi-Fi then use the Netgear wizard. Once you have connected through the wizard, the device works extremely well. Now have whole house coverage on dual band wi-fi. Surely it would not be hard to include better instructions or a web link to download instructions?
Questions & Answers
Can NOT set up the extender own wifi name which is bad and you don't know if it's been extended?
Can this be used with any isp? mine is branded with telstra that someone gave to me
Yes, it is only an extender. It just links into your wifi network to extend the range. You can download instructions from the Netgear website. The model number is different but the extender is the same. From memory I think the Netgear model is EX6150.
Oh thanks that helps a lot
