I caught a taxi from Belmont hospital to Redhead after a had minor surgery.I got into the taxi feeling somewhat "out of it"when I looked at the meter which showed $19+.I asked the driver why that was & he replied"i was told I had to pick a parcel up".That meant he had to turn the meter on before he left his taxi to get the parcel.That parcel was me.I know for a fact that my name was given when the taxi was booked.I'm still not sure if was an attempt to rip me off but I am sure the driver needed further training.NEWCASTLE CABS accepted it was unfair to be charged that much,so I was generously compensated.Three cheers to the Newcastle admin staff for helping me resolve this matter.
