I usually do a lot of online research before buying items like this but this was an impulse purchase. It seemed to have far better features than my old camera but turned that that the photo quality is rather disappointing - often quite grainy and too dark. Nikon suggestions to counteract these type of issues are to switch to manual (I wouldn't be buying a point and shoot camera if I was experienced enough to use manual settings) or to use a separate flash! This replaced my 20 year old camera and has some fantastic new features such as automatic picture transfer from camera to a smart device by downloading the SnapBridge app. It comes with 8x optical zoom*1 and 16x Dynamic Fine Zoom*2, capable of covering a wide angle of 25mm. Although this may sound complicated it is very easy to use after a bit of practise and is so slim and easy to slip into a purse or pocket. The quality of pictures is amazing and as I edit a newsletter for our retirement village I like to take my own photos of events and something for the cover page. I snapped a brilliant sunset the other evening and couldn't be happier.
