So many problems - smart TV that is not so smart
Bought and used this TV for 1.5 year. I have had so many little issues since beginning.
1. you can't use this TV if you loose remote controller. You can't find any compatible controller.
2. Built in Netflix app is not working or ask you to login every 2 days. I had to remove and reset the app 200 times but having same issue.
3. HDMI port is not working - I tried factory reset 50 times. still not working.
4. Kogan TV is simply total waste of money (cheap Chinese made). Better to buy more reliable brand.

Don't buy. Not worth it
Ok I've had the television a week. I opened the box 5 days ago. I followed all the instructions in setting up. Worked ok first night for 2 hours.
After that is when it got interesting. It started turning itself off initially after 1 hour. Only way to turn back on is to switch off at wall.
Next few days got worse until the last time was about 15 minutes.
It then just randomly displayed different solid colours on a rotating basis.
I've contacted the help desk. The remedy that they offered I followed again but to no avail.
It just is a dud.

Dumb TV Kogan Crap
Within a week of having this TV, I knew it wasnt gonna be my friend. This model is the DUMBEST so called Smart TV on the market. I've had endless problems with the functions and settings that should be USER FRIENDLY considering it is a SMART TV. I've not been able to find any aftersale help nor technical support from Kogan or online. Because I gave away my Changhong TV, Ive had to put up with this useless Kogan crap that has been a nothing but total pain in the neck. Ive had to hook up my Smart Samsung Bluray Player so I can watch Netflix uni...Read more
ntrupted cause the app installed on the TV doesnt always work, plus the TV shuts down every day, sometimes up to 5 times a day. The wifi turns off randomly, but Netflix, Youtube and Freeview randomly fail to work even when the wifi is showing connected. I have to factory reset every other day to get the apps to work. The ports are rediculous and not standard ease of use without having to go out and buy connectors and converter boxes.. It is CRAP!!! I actually say regularly out loud "I HATE MY TV" The sound plugs into the headphone port via 3.5 Jack. No optical port.Purchased in September 2021 at Kogan.com for A$549.00.

Great TV
Great TV for price. My first 4k TV so it took a bit of fiddling with settings to turn the 4k on and get set up, but otherwise pretty user friendly.
Only downside is the terrible sound quality. Sound has too much Bass and can distort and the upper levels are tinny. Purchased a decent soundbar and now I have no issues whatsoever. Great TV but definitely have or plan to get a soundbar or other sound system.

Unwatchable
The Series 8 MU8010 smart TV is advertised as 4k but its does not look like it is, the blues are washed out and solid, oranges and reds blend and bleed.
Apple TV video stalls and is unwatchable, have connected same Apple device to my other Samsung TV and its works perfectly.
Audio is horrible and tinny sounding.
This is a very poor quality TV and ieatwords.com.au reviews put this TV as a 2.2, how does the Kogan website give it 4 out of 5 stars, suspicious!!
Its unwatchable in my view.

Kogan TV KALED43MU8010SZA - Bad TV, Bad Customer service
Bought a KOGAN TV online in November 2018. It is now May 2022. Had been happily using it with no problems until 3 days ago. Tried Kogan's online diagnostic help... No help or fix there. Tried YouTube for advice and diagnosis... no help there either. Tried to somehow contact KOGAN in person..... Virtually impossible, so a dead end there. I don't think this TV will heal itself if I just leave it. I'm out of options for a cost free solution. I was sceptical about buying online from a large online company but thought I’d give it a go. I won't do it...Read more
again, especially from KOGAN. They seem to want to keep their anonymity so they don't have to deal with customers after the sale. I hope they may look at their current business model and consider the customer. If you are listening KOGAN then hear this: Customers remain customers until they go somewhere else. If you want return business or an ongoing happy customer base, you will spend some time and some of your profits to treat your customers properly. Make it easier to talk to you. It’s amazing what some communication can do. Bye forever KOGAN and I would expect that if anyone asks me to give them my opinion of KOGAN I will happily and freely tell them what I think. Great for the cost
Not much to say on this.
Its a great tv for the price.
Light bleed is very minimal and the image quality is top notch. Not amazing in very fast paced action scenes but then my 2018 sony tv doesn't do too well in that regards either, and that cost $2000 more!
Sound quality is lackluster but it's nothing a cheap soundbar won't fix.

More bang for you buck
More bang for you buck
Bought this TV in 2018 for $600, was a bit worried about the quality as I was more into high end TVs, however it is still looks great given its low price.
The picture quality is good, no complaints.
Sounds OK but not awesome, you can add a soundbar if audio quality is a concern.
Has enough inputs for my needs.
Overall, a good TV that is worth your money, no bells or whistles though.

This TV has been great for the price
- Sound wasn't very good but when you're buying a 55+ inch TV you do go and buy a sound system also
- HDR feature was detected by my PS4 and games look great
- Slow operating system for freeview and youtube but I use Apple TV anyway.
- 6 star energy rating for 55 inch which is rare for a TV that size as most are 4.5 to 5 stars only.
- 6 months ago I was very happy with my purchase price at the time from Kogan of $550 including delivery. I see it's currently at $759 plus delivery on Kogan and I think that's overpriced (for the 55 inch model)

Great TV despite bad reviews!
We purchased a refurbished 55" MU8010, I completely forgot to read reviews before clicking purchase but I'm glad I didn't as it's actually a pretty good quality TV for the price. The sound is the worst part of it, if you buy this TV; speakers are a must. When loading videos, the audio crackles even with speakers in but once it's all loaded it's perfectly fine. I had to tweak the picture settings to my own preference, which is fine. After putting on a 4k video, the picture quality is actually really good, the colours could be a little more vibra...Read more
nt and the brightness could be up but if you're okay with a TV which DOES have slightly vibrant but only slightly darker colours, this TV is fine. The menu is also not that great, as you can't change any settings while in any apps, it has to be on the home screen, which is just static unless you have an aerial plugged in. I was a bit worried that kogan use allied express, after reading reviews and seeing as people's items were getting stolen, but they delivered 3 days after shipped with no problem except that the tracking wasn't accurate. 8/10, I would definitely purchase this or any other kogan TV again despite bad reviews.Similar opinion? DO NOT BUY
Without a doubt the worst TV i've ever bought. I used it a lot for gaming and for the it is OK (at best). The colours and contrast are not great but they're not an eyesore. However HDR does not work as it turns the screen yellow which was disappointing as it was the main reason i purchased this tv. Where it gets really bad is when you use it for anything but gaming. Watching movies is a chore due to the yellowish tinge every semi-bright scene seems to have. Darker colours are extremely fuzzy. The worst aspect of it however is watching sport. Th...Read more
e colour is washed out and again has an unpleasent yellow tinge. Movements are extremely blurred and the resolution is appalling. I haven't even mentioned the fact that the tv occasionally goes black at random times. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and i was dumb enough to think you could get a good quality 4k tv for less than $400. I have since bought an 4k LG tv and the difference is astounding. If you are on a small budget get a 1080p instead of getting a bottom of the barrell 4k tv.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Product as bad as service.
Misleading product description (may possibly be illegal)
Unboxed to find out that the picture quality was worse than my 6 year old non hd tv.
Tv also freezes.
Informed their customer service within an hour of receiving the product to refund and it’s been a battle ever since.
Dont not buy!
I will be shouting very proudly on every review site I can and to every person looking for a new tv.

Unable to Wall Mount this boat anchor...!!!
Got the TV within 4 days of ordering it and thought, awesome service.. That's where the joy ended. Kogan, this TV is poor and is NOT what was advertised. It says it's Vesa compliant and uses Vesa 400 x 200 wall mounting configuration.. No it doesn't!!!!!!!!!!
It only has screw holes for one bracket a third of the way up from the bottom of the TV and it's only mounted to flimsy plastic, not a metal sub-frame!!!! Just imagine trying to hang that off the wall without it crashing to the floor.
Do not buy this TV! In fact don't ever buy anything ...Read more

Complete waste of space and money
Don’t waste your money. TV has to be restarted every time you use it as the internet continuously disconnects and won’t reconnect unless you restart. Can’t download Netflix, constantly freezing up and takes forever to start back up. By far the worst tv I’ve ever owned I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Wish I read these reviews before purchasing.
On the main page of the website I purchased from, all reviews had 4+ stars which I now believe to be fake. I bought this tv on Black Friday thinking to get a cheap deal. I bought this 4K HDR TV specifically for gaming which I’ve just tried doing for 30 minutes+ on my Xbox one X. Was extremely excited until I found out it didn’t work and now have wasted $500 for nothing. This is false advertising at its finest. This is a 1080p TV.
I will continue to try 4K with other applications.

Great... to an extent...
- Bought this TV mainly for gaming. Picture looks great in 4K, apart from deep blues, they display way too saturated and pixelated and I cant see anything in that blue area. Tried everything in the settings to fix this yet nothing works.
- On board You-Tube sucks too, super slow and freaks out when you send a video to play from your phone. Restored to doing everything through the Xbox.
- I was aware that the HDR wouldn't work for gaming, even though my console says it does and with HDR enabled it looks great on the home screen but as soon as...Read more

Ok as 2nd TV, but don't buy as your main TV
The higher ratings reviews you see around for this TV is for people who are using a TV for gaming coz the quality through the HDMi port is pretty good.
However the free to air quality is grainy as you will read in other reviews, it must have something to do with the quality of the tuner circuit coz via HDMI eg Xbox Plex the screen is ok. (Yes I have another TV which i compared the aerial, this TV has bad free to air).
The EPG is stupidly laid out the channels are down the left column and what's on the channel on the right so you have to m...Read more
ove down each channel what for the info to load to see what's on that channel before moving down to the next channel. It does have Freeview plus which is much better than the EPG. Using just the channel down/up button on the remote too fast or holding it down creates backlog of presses and it keeps scrolling up and down channels after you've taken you finger off the button which is quiet annoying.Similar opinion? Product NOT as advertised
To say I am disappointed with KOGAN in this instance would be a huge understatement. We have been extremely happy with our previous purchases and have had no problems with them not being as advertised. This one was advertised as a 4K HDR television, but on arrival, it would not display as such. Both my son and I combed through the specifications and as this was to be purchased specifically for gaming, and did not see a disclaimer anywhere. However, it seems there was one, way down the bottom, hidden amongst the big claims of what the telly ...Read more
WOULD do. HDR does not support gaming. Given that the latest model consoles are specifically built for this makes this statement a right joke. (oh yes, did I mention that once my first complaint was made, the company had a fire sale on this item for $399 to clear the warehouse?) To give KOGAN the benefit of the doubt though, even if the disclaimer was on there, KOGAN STILL should NOT be advertising this TV with "4K HDR" front and centre in large print with NO DISCLAIMER. In any case, it certainly does not say that "4K" is not available. The Xbox One X couldn't even export at 4K to this TV as It was capped at 1080p. (It does to our other 4K Kogan TV purchased through Dick Smith.) Best case scenario for KOGAN, it is extremely misleading advertising, worst case scenario it is false advertising because it definitely doesn't say that 4K won't work, which it did NOT. SO we have paid this company an absurd amount of money for a standard run of the mill cheap arse television. Oh yes, we can send it back for a refund, provided we pay the couple of hundred dollars in postage costs. The fact too, that we CANNOT speak to a human being from KOGAN to sort this matter out is absolutely unacceptable. We have referred this matter to the ACCC, and will be flagging with our MP.1 comment

Cheap rubbish!
Very cheap TV that lasted 4 months,,, Onboard software keeps freezing, this required removing AC power/Reboot of the TV.... A firmware & software update had no effect, which deemed it to be a hardware fault.
Washed out blues, forever configuring settings to achieve an average viewing picture.
TV decided not to turn on,,, Red light of death.
Raised an RA ticket with Kogan via email...
Kogan had no idea of the product or read my fault description of the issue., I ran through their check list & 80% of the troubleshooting required the TV to b...Read more
