DSLR for the new comer, for the old timer, for the amateur or professional
New to digital photography I was offered this camera to help with the photography course I was enrolled in as I didn’t have one of my own. Looking at it is was overwhelmed simply by all the buttons and switches so I sat down with the manual. The camera can operate simply as a point and shoot for the hobbyists when you are on holiday or taking pictures of the kids easy. The cam are in the auto setting sets up the shutter speed and aperture to give you the best Image you can expect. Then it also allows you to make different manual inputs as your ...Read more
experience and confidence grows. The camera has multiple points of focus for the image so you don’t have to worry about which one will give you the clearest picture. You can fit multiple different lenses which connect like a light bulb just insert and twist simple as that. The lenses can allow you to focus and take pictures of a ladybird all the way up to panorama shots. I have now reached the end of my course and bought my own D7100 and as I am now moving up to a more complex course and photographing sports events and taking portraits I have bought a second camera so I can have different lenses already connected for speedy changes. I love this camera and would highly recommend it to all comers new and experienced.Purchased in March 2021 at Harvey Norman for A$650.00.

Still a great camera. My best buying decision in photographics ever.
After doing a lot of research I settled on the Nikon, frequently listening to the evaluations given by the "authorities" of youtube, but mainly the "angry photographer" and Rockwell. Still in 2022 it stacks up as a competent unit next to the current line of crop sensor and full frame cameras. Admittedly, the most important thing in DSLRs is the lens, and if I was not able to use the wide ecosystem of nikon nikkor lens (as well as a couple of good ones from Tokina & Tamron) from manuals through to D series, and the latest gelded ones as well, th...Read more
en I would not have the versatility to be able to select the right tool for the job. And that is critical, because without the right lens I cannot think of a way that I would have been able to produce the stunning portraiture, landscape and product shots that I have made. Thanks Nikon for making a camera that lasts and performs beautifully doing everything I want it to do from a so called mid range unit that behaves more like a pro.Purchased in July 2021 at Kogan.com for A$800.00.

Does everything youd expect
Sharp images, best crop sensor camera Ive used. Closest quality to full frame I have shot on. I used a nifty 50 and an 18-105 which both produced shard results. I would invest in full frame as any crop sensor camera will make you want to go full fram and even if tis a while down the road at least you still have glass.

Great all rounder
The Nikon D7100 is the top of the line in APS-C sensors (Crop Sensor) and it works well in all areas of shooting whether that'd be landscape all the way to portraits. One area I wouldn't suggest for the D7100 would be either sports or wildlife photography as the buffer size is small and will run out quite quickly if shooting in RAW quality.
The ergonomics feel great, fits in the hands well with a nice meaty grip. Running 2 SD card slots is highly useful as you can either backup your data, use 1 for RAW and 1 for JPEG or just use it as a roll o...Read more

Great camera for macro use
We use this camera along with a macro lens and ring flash for taking macro photos of our patient's teeth. We also use intra-oral mirrors in order to get our images. We get a fantastic image quality that is much better than dental intra-oral cameras. I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in macro work to use this camera along with one of Nikon's macro/micro lenses (100mm or 200mm).
U1 and U2 settings allow a preset shutter speed and aperture

Very happy
I haven't quite used the d7100 yet to its full potential but so far I'm very impressed. Picture quality is magnificent and it handles low light situations extremely well. One of the features that really pushes this camera to front of enthusiast level dslrs in relation to video, is the added addition of a headphone audio port.
I'll keep it short and sweet. The bottom line is the company is highly recommended. They deliver at timely manner and customer service is excellent.
Also, if you are currently at an intermediate level of photography and want to further progress your skills and get something with a little more edge and professionalism, you can't go wrong the the d7100.
