Hello, we switched to Novalac IT as the baby was constipated on NAN sensitive... have you made the formula transition or you went straight with Novalac IT to feed ur little ones to solve their problem? my lo had her stool right after the second bottle and it was hard, the second one was play dough consistency, now she is trying hardly for the third one after Novalac IT. What is your experience?

Just switched my 6wk old baby onto this as she had very bad constipation. Yes it defiantly fixed that problem but she doesn't seem as full. She doesn't sleep as well and is restless...just wondering if the sweet dreams will help or clog her up again

It will clog her but you can add some drops from the chemist to her milk I can’t remember the name but that’s what we did. When she gets older use blueberries they are great for constipation

The drops are called coloxyl

Hi Pree sorry to hear about the situation. I have been through this and know how it hurts a mom. I tried all formulas in shelf and the novalac. It was no good. I tried suppositories and helped only once and then back to square again. My dd was 8 months and was having constipation issues for last 4 months on and off. She never has solids and dr advised she has to somehow eat solids. They never understood the fact she refuses to eat. Anyway the final solution that works now for her is solids couple of times a day and the magic is Bellamys stage 1. She is back to normal now. Try that and see your luck. Good luck!

Its recommend from birth to 12 months. I would take your son to a doctor or pharmacist. Also novolac constipation is for constipated babies.

My 4 week old has been on Novalac IT 1 for 2 weeks now, and is still very constipated. We also dose him with Lacson twice a day, and every other bottle with olive oil, and we add probiotics to his dinner time bottle. The lacson causes extreme cramps, si we add gripe water on top of it all. Any advice will be appreciated. When will the Novalac start kicking in, is he maybe having a growth spurt? Thank you Mommies xxx

Hi there. It took a couple of weeks for the Novolac to start working with my bub. Keep in mind your bub is very young and their little tummies are still trying to work out how to process outside the womb. Stick with it for a few more weeks and if you see no improvement then perhaps consult with your doctor for more advice
Good luck

Hi,
My 6 week old is on novalac colic, however is becoming constipated often. the formula is working for the colic so I don't want to take him off it. Are you able to use several of the novalac formulas at once eg use novalac colic as his main formula and novalac constipation when required?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jackie, i would have a chat to the pharmacist or your doctor. I only use novalac constipation nothing else. I know other people use the sleep one at night and then constipation one in the day so you might be able to use both.
Good luck. It's horrible when they are constipated.

Hi, I see your dilemma but I'm not too sure. I would think that using different formulas may affect their gut. I would check with a health professional before offering. Good luck and hopefully the little grows out of it

I'm not really sure sorry. I've stopped using it after 4 months now with s26 comfort. They said not to use novalac for too long as the baby will end up depending on it. S26 comfort is what they recommended me. So far I've been using it for 2 months but my baby only goes every 2-3days.

Hi
I've looked if it said anything on the formula tin and i couldn't find anything about weather is halal or not (it's skimmed cow's milk ) but you can call Advisory Line on 1800 023 884 or just visit the web site and enquire www.novalac.com.au.
Sorry, but hopefully this can help you.

I live in qld, I purchase Novalac from Chemist Warehouse, I'm sure they should supply it in Victoria/Melbourne.

You can order online at Chemist warehouse and for orders over $99 the postage is free Australia wide. I love their discounts and find it easy to purchase this amount as a mum, and I'm only getting general things needed, or you could just buy a few tins and stock your kitchen.

I was using novalac constipation since my son was four weeks old. I was worried it was too much all the time. He is now eleven weeks old and started Vomiting I though it might be the formula. Since changing him, he is constipated again and doesn't sleep through the night and still is vomiting a bit at every bottle. Should I change him back to the novalac, also is it bad to change formulas all the time?

I think Novalac constipation is a formula to be use for short term only.I only use it when he have constipation. My baby tried Aptamil Profutura, Aptamil Gold, NAN pro, NAN comfort, Karicare and nothing help with constipation and reflux. My friend recommended S26 Gold, I was scared to let my baby try because of all the bad previews here but he's pooping everyday since I put him on it and no more stomachache right after feed. Don't worry about changing formula all the time, all formulas are safe for babies, you want to find the best for him rather than seeing him in pain or in distress. I changed 5 different formulas in 2 weeks for my baby and now he's settle with s26 Gold. Every baby is different so Good luck.

Has anyone else's babe become a little bit spewy on the novolac constipation since upping the formula amounts to suit ages? Confused on what I should do .

Novolac is a thin formula which means in some cases is not thick enough to stay down. It also never filled my bubs tummy enough so we had to add a thickener, but had to gradually add it, starting with a quarter of a scoop, as using the recommended amounts would constipated him again
