Has anyone else's babe become a little bit spewy on the novolac constipation since upping the formula amounts to suit ages? Confused on what I should do .
Novolac is a thin formula which means in some cases is not thick enough to stay down. It also never filled my bubs tummy enough so we had to add a thickener, but had to gradually add it, starting wit...
Read moreh a quarter of a scoop, as using the recommended amounts would constipated him againMy baby is 4 n a half month old n he's badly constipated he's on aptamil gold .. Should I give him novalac instead... My son is on both breastmilk n formul.. Breast more n formula less... But his constipation is gettin bad day by day.. How can I help my son??
Hi Rida I've noticed alot of bubs get constipation around the 4 month mark. I would stay clear of "gold" type formulas as they tend to make then windy and constipated. Aptamil profutra works great wi...
Read moreth my second. With Novalac constipation I found it to work great with my first son but not my second. It can vary different babies. No harm in trying. Also add extra 10ml of water to the bottle of formula. Babies on formula poop between every 3-5 days but if he hasn't gone after a week of trying a different formula take him to your gp so they can help see what's causing the issue. Best of luck.Thank you so much Karenn, your information is really helpful n satisfying.. Being a new mom is difficult as sometimes it's really hard to understand what your Bub wants .. Just one more thing I'm givi...
Read moreng my Bub novalac now as my GP told me to give him novalac for 10days n I can start s26 after that.. Is that ok I mean I'm givig him novalac for 10 days.. Is that going to be harmful or not?Around 4 months you are probably finding that your child is also dribbling a lot, hence they are losing fluids that need to be replaced, due to this constipation is often a side effect. We were recomm...
Read moreended to give our child up to an extra 120ml of water per day on top of feeds. The doctor also advised that switching from formula to formula often doesn't make a difference because as long as the fluid needs to be replaced its not going to matter. Constipation can also be the child, not the formula, especially if it runs in the family. The same saga happens again as soon as they start solids. I wish you all the best:)My son just turned one and I've used novlac constipation since he was 3 months. I was just wondering should I move on to another formula and stage?
When they turn one they don't need to be on toddler milk unless they are lacking certain vitamins but by one they should be eating just about everything :)
My doctor prescribed novalac It for my 1 month baby .can I use it everyday.?
My son is now 3 but we used Novalac Constipation as his only formula until he was age 1 when I moved him to cows milk.
Can this be used for every feed?
Hi
At the start when my daughter started with mainly formula I used this 2-3 times and in between I used the normal novalac gold formula. Then I cut down to 2 then 1. At 6 months I switched to aldi and still use it with no problems
Thank you
Based on reading some comments above, can you feed your 3month old two different brands of formula? Whilst he does go 1-2 daily I am unhappy with the way my baby struggles with his bowel movements especially when he has wind and then pushes and pushes like he is going and nothing comes out or when he does go, they are fairly solid... he does get clearly upset and cries when he does have wind... he also has silent reflux so am concerned about the comments that this may make him spit up more than he already does... so i guess i am just wondering whether i can stick to my current brand and use this one 1-2 / day??
I don't think there would be any issues with it but you could consult your doctor just in case. Alternatively, you could try adding coloxyl drops to his current formula one or twice a day. My pediatr...
Read moreician recommended them as they are very safe, non medicated, non addictive etc. They are not a laxative but they help the body add water to the bowels and you can get it from most chemists specifically to add to bottles. If your baby is over 4 months you could try watered down prune or pear juice too. I've come to realise after almost a year of wondering why my boy was getting constipated that he is just very sensitive to the added iron in formula, baby cereal, pentavite etc. if that helps you. No doctors, midwives, lactation consultants or anyone ever suggested that could be the case to me and it would have saved me a lot of worry, time and expense! My baby is experiencing constipation on net every formular but this one. Is this formular suitable to you full time ? Thanks
Hi you can use it full time but that just didn't sit right with me so I used this formula twice a day and there gold normal formula by novalac and my baby was fine. After a few months I dropped it to once a day now we just use regular formula
My pediatrician said it was fine to use until 12 months old. Just contains some extra oils to keep things moving. It's still nutritionally complete. When my son was about 9 months old, and was on less...
Read more formula, a full diet and crawling, his constipation cleared up so I switched to nan comfort. He is happy and regular on that. After months and months of not knowing why he was always constipated I worked out that it was the iron in formula, baby cereal, pentavite etc. Hope that helps you!Is this formular ok to use all the time as all the others are giving him constipation
We wouldnt be able to give only the colic formula as he would be very constipated so alternating the 2 formulas works. I wouldnt alternate with any other brands though. Ive found the health nurses and...
Read more doctors ive seen with my son actually dont know anything about Novalac so i havent been able to get guidance, so have gone on friends and forums experience. I guess using something so targetted for a long time is not ideal so im hoping my son grows out of colic soon so we can go back to using standard formula and will try the Novalac Gold(if i can find it for sale anywhere)My 5week old is having trouble doin poo's. She has done 1 poo in about 4-5days and that came out like toothpaste and was a dark green/olive color. I was using nan pro gold and switched to nan comfort and also used coloxyl drops for a few days but nothing has worked. I am now thinking about using novalac constipation. Will this work and make her poo regularly? Thanks

Works for my son I wouldn't risk giving him anything else now that I have found this :) he goes everyday sometimes twice I tried a few different formulas since he was born and also coloxyl drop but th...

Honestly I lived this formula nightmare for months and looking back now I wish I had this advice. My baby is 5 months of age now and is back on NaN ha,...

Gave my baby tummy aches after a week, yes it stop the constipation but it caused another problem. Good adding brown sugar to 30mls of of boiled cooled water twice a day till your son poos.My baby is breast feeding, she is 3 months old . But give her one or two feed S26 she is not poo. Hi!
My daughter has been on S26 since she was 2 months old and all it has done is constipate her! So I spoke to a friend and she recommended bellamys organic she has now been on this for a month but still the same problem! We have tried every trick also! So was thinking of giving novalac a go but was wondering if after a while it will make her poop too much or if she can stay on this formula until she is ready for cows milk? thanks (:
I was told by my GP it is safe to use until they go to cows milk - it worked wonders for us
My 13month daughter suffers from chronic constipation which novalac fomular can I feed her?
By 13 months old - your daughter should be eating a wide variety of solid foods including meat. From 1 year on you can actually stop formula and move her onto full cream milk instead but I would only ...
Read moredo this if she is eating a wide variety of foods including red meat for iron. My son is now 5 months old & on solids and if he gets constipated now - we give him some diluted prune juice + lots of water and ensure he is eating foods high in fibre like pureed pear. There isn't any harm in giving her the novalac constipation formula (along with her solid foods of course) but I suggest trying the other things first and maybe also speak to your GP in case there is any underlying medical reason for the problem. Good luck ;)My gal 7 weeks, suffered from constipation and now my gal spitting and often vomiting due to allergy to novalac products. Can I mix novalac & reflux together or feed her separately? should I continue or stop using novalac?
If she has an allergy to novolac, stop completely! My daughter has lactose intolerance so we had to stop novolac completely. .(
oh i see .. I'm thinking want to stop giving novalac to my gal.. Because seems her vomiting and spitting is getting worse day by day.... So what are the products you are using now to cure your daughters constipation..????
How long can you use this product for?
