Excellent value for money
The OM-D E-M10 is as easy to use as a compact "point and shoot" but with pretty much all the features of a full blown DSLR. In fact the size will make people think it is in fact a large P&S rather than a proper micro four thirds mirrorless ~ either that or people will think you have a very old camera!
The retro look is fantastic - pulling out photos of the old OM-1 from the 70's, you can see how much effort the people at Olympus went to resurrect the looks of it - from the shape of the dials and knobs, even to the detail of making the thumb ...Read more
grip on the EM-10 look like the film winder on the old model. The power switch is a bit of a pain to get to, and is near impossible to operate while holding it in one hand (this has been moved on the Mark 2 to the top of the unit - to an impressively 70's looking switch). I thought the wireless capability would be a bit of gimmick that I would not use, but is actually quite impressive, letting you use a smartphone (tried iphone and samsung) as not only a remote control but remote viewer - so you can have the live view displayed to the phone, as well as controlling the shutter, focusing and zoom from the phone. Fantastic for long exposure shots. The pancake lens included in the kit is very usable, and I opted for the automatic lens cover (that pops open just like a point and shoot).1 comment

Have now added 2 lenses to the collection. The first is the Olympus 14-150mm ultrazoom (gives a 36mm equivalent of 28mm-300mm) which is now my everyday lens, and a 12mm F2.0 Samyang manual focus for night/astrography work.
