    Optimum results

I was toying with getting my first sous vide for awhile. Too many brands and too many blogs and write ups. It always comes down to the perspective of the individual's experience i suppose. I decided to go Optimum and after 4 cooks - i am seriously impressed with the results. The kids love it and I was amazed at how steak and seafood turned out -moist, cooked and ready for grilling or pan frying. So thanks - would recommend Optimum to anyone.

So easy to use - I'll never cook a chicken breast any other way

The sous vide machine is so easy to use, anyone can do it! Chicken breast comes out super tender and juicy, steak is perfect with just a quick sear in the pan after being cooked with the sous vide, and salmon fillets come out perfectly cooked - moist, tender and flakey. It's great not having to worry about timing the cooking to the minute - I'd recommend this to anyone.

    It is a great gadget.

I use the sous vide machine at least twice a week. It is easy to use as I set it and leave it. The steak is unbelievable done in the sous vide. I have tried chicken lamb and pork also. I would recommend the Optimum sous vide for the ordinary everyday cook.

how accurate is the temperature controller? (1 degree or .1 degree?).

It's very accurate - we've been playing about with .1 degree differences! You can easily set it to whichever temp you like - 65, 65.3, 58.7, whatever - and it stops heating once that temp is achieved and just bubbles away, staying within .1 degree.

Hello Kim, better late than never :)
As Anne already mentioned the temperature controller is very accurate.

Using absolute precision Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heating technology with easy-
to-use built-in temperature and timer controls, it is a safer alternative to other commonly used
heating elements and allows for consistent, even heat distribution for up to 60 hours, right down to
    0.5°C accuracy.

    Hope that helps!
