I want to list all the upcoming movies or documentaries, on TV in the next week . I could choose which to record. Nope. Can't do that - you have to plough through the EPG. I don't think you can store recorded programs in categories (drama, comedy, etc) either. Only earlier models of Humax could do lots of clever cataloguing.
With 1TB of storage many programs can be stored. How do you sort them? Just wait till you trying looking through all the randomly stored progs. You can only sort by date and Channel. I don't see the point. Not as bad as Humax though - who are all tricks.
Note: Not Wireless. cable only.

Communication is just wrong!
We moved house almost 12 months ago. Only need the one box instead of 2. We are still waiting for "the courier". We have rang about 5 times asking about and 3 different calls said courier is coming on such a date and they dont turn up. My partner took the days off work to and stayed home make sure they got it. The other 2 times they told me to keep it. Today we went to book a movie they said they dont that anymore thats through Foxtel but dont know why. Rang foxtel and they were just as bad! They understod when spoke of account details and date...Read more
of birth etc but suddenly when asked about booking a movie said in there "oh me no understand me sorry me no understand" Really? We are seriously contemplating cutting off pay tv with optus as well changing from optus to another provider with our phones and internet as well! Frustrated!

Might as well throw your money out the window.
Avoid at all possible costs. I went with OPTUS as I can't stand anything owned by Murdoch. To sum up I would rather go without pay TV all together.

Nightmare product. Waste of time.
This was a poor experience. Delays with install. Charged for months of no service. Average programs. More Ads that free TV. Optus are truly rubbish.

Tired of Optus Tv programs
The programs are constantly repeated, on the whole they are not that interesting after a while . Would love to see something more intelligent, i do like animals but most documentary are to do with them . Kind of tired of Hearing about sharks etc . We pay for it you would think that they would change their programs more often. Argh

Endless repetitions, a lot of commercials, garbage contents, very expensive.
I have had optus cable tv for several years, but i am going to disconnect soon. Movies are being repeated an enormous number of times, when the same old movie is being shown on another channel it becomes a "premiere". The number of commercials is mind boggling. The contents is uninteresting. Expensive. I am very disappointed, feel ripped off and cheated.
Occasionally interesting documentaries.
Commercials, commercials, commercials. Contents endlessly repeated.

Pay TV's biggest selling point was less commercials and none during programs. This has turned out to be incorrect. I have been with Optus for many years and I am paying top dollar for channels that are just rubbish. When is all this reality garbage going to die. Life is enough reality for me. I don't need it on TV. Pay Tv is now infected as much as free to air TV. Come on Optus all this talk you are giving about customer service is not working. You should put all these reality rubbish in a package of there own. They amount to nothing more than ...Read more
cheap tacky TV and they are a waste of time. I only watch about 6 shows a week in your "entertainment" (and I say that lightly) section. I know they come from elsewhere in the world but you don't have to buy them. Get some decent channels with proper programs that people can actually watch with pleasure. Sport channels Too much garbage reality showsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

New Optus Cable Package... Are you serious
After many many loyal years with optus tv and having our top end package constantly changed without consultation or options - this latest change is the worst! Less channels - in particular the severely culled movie channels - but still the same cost. Again! As usual as the cost gets higher the service goes lower. All the while their glitzy promos try to tell us that optus have done something great and we are getting all this fab new stuff, etc etc! Give me a decent competitor and i will be there!! Please!!!!! On the upside, i have started reading more books again - so maybe i will just dump the service... Hmmmm - sounds like a good idea!
Expensive, less options, less value for money

In their own interest
Optus gets complaints regularly and knows a percentage of viewers will always be disappointed. Optus knows the reasons for viewer dissatisfaction (my main one is editing out portions of shows) and doesn't react because they are getting huge amounts of adverts and huge money. But, they're endangering themselves. I've bought the recording function and watch almost no TV that I haven't recorded. Watch what we want when we want and ff through the ads. But, it doesn't solve my pet peeve, the cutting out of some segments of shows to fit in more ...Read more
ads in the allotted time. ("Mr Monk Takes the Stand", Monday, Nov. 19th, 2012, Melbourne, finally lit my little boiler. "Disappointing" and "Ridiculous" spring to mind). A friend some time ago bought the entire Frasier. They see EVERYTHING the cast and producers intended them to see. Another person has my all-time favourite, M*A*S*H. Job done. Optus goodby, money saved towards series we like (looking forward to the REAL New Tricks, ABC and SBS for quality docos and news, free-to-air for sport and occasional TV with ads. (We're old enough to have bought pay TV because "you don't have to put up with ads". Remember that?) If I were a senior bod at Optus, interested in making money beyond the next two-three years, I'd be giving the standard advice: people paying for a service clearly deserve that service. Don't give people what they've paid for, they walk. It's happened and continues to happen with the banks, the stock market, in politics. Frustration has its use by date, then it goes off - way off. Optus, goodby. The variety of programs. Please see above. Plus, low-quality programs, endless reruns.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
OK
i consider the value is no longer there and this is after foxtel got merge in.
to keep the subscription I would like to be able to select and pay for the channels I want to watch - not cartoons, fashion, etc.
subscribers could select programs and pay an amount per selection - much better suggestion and sevelral friends of ours are of the same oppinion.
you would probably find that people then would actually select a number of favourite channels to even exceed the cost they now pay for the limited packages you have.
picture is very clear and ...Read more

Terrible
I joined optus many years ago, was ok to start with, but lately nothing but repeats, how many times do we have to see the same show, week after week the same shows, series - they don't start at the beginning and work through the episodes, they play the same episode over and over, programs being shown are possible 3 to 4 years old so we have to watch then for 3 to 4 years over and over, have not seen a current program for years, come on Optus get your finger out and give us value for our mighty dollar.
Now days finding not many things to say I enjoy about Optus
The continual repeated programs and continual interruptions with ads.

Terrible
I joined optus when they first put their cable past here when I had a Gold Package, then they cut down the number of channels I had in my package, changed it to something else and uped the cost and the cost still keeps going up and the service is going down.Nothing but ads,bad shows, the same shows that are on free to air and now we are getting more and more cop shows, soopy daytime serials from a hundred years ago. It's just not good enough for the cost of the service
Some of the shows are ok
repeat after repeat and now more ads then on free to air

OK
Had Optus TV since around 1997. They used to be good until they 'merged' with foxtel. They didn't seem to care anymore. And for good reason, they recently closed down their TV offering (obviously due to what foxtel has done).
They used to have good pricing when bundled, and the reliablity was very good.
We moved to Foxtel recently as Optus TV started changing some things for the worse and soon after stopped offering the TV to new customers.
The channel packages could have been organised better though, that one thing that I would have liked :)
Good if you had it bundled.
Closed down.

Excellent
I have had optus tv since august last year and i have never had any problem whats so ever,I couldnt live without it now.The package's are a good price most are cheaper then foxtel and the difference is that optus is cable and foxtel dish.Cable is more stable in the way if you have bad weather its does'nt get affected.Love how you can order a box office movie instead of going to the video shop makes it easy that way.Very clear picture.Channels for all ages this is a family favorite in my house.
10/10 from me cant live without.
Excellent package,Good value and its cable cant beat that.
