It is to sleep on, not to make meaningless worries. Many customers are happy without confusing themselves.
Or wait 10 more years, maybe some mathematician has the answer including pie, 3.14159265358979323 you know?

On the advertisement On Kogan for the Ovela bamboo memory foam queen mattress topper it says it is only 2cm thick? However compared to the same product but by Trafalgar all the dimensions and weight match, except it says 4cm on this one. Can you please confirm the actual dimensions please?

Thanks guys!!! I saw a few photos with a big jump down the centre that apparently wouldn't go away? Have you had this problem as well or does is settle down pretty quickly if there is one?

Also - do you find it to be a soft & comfy sort of memory foam or is it one that is super duper firm? Thanks again!! =)

What is the density of the 5cm thick topper please also it appears that its a firmer topper from peoples opinions on this site. I am trying to soften a slightly to firm mattress but don't want a topper thats so soft i sink in and end up with lower back pain instead. As for smell how badly do they smell and for how long. I am VERY sensitive to smell and need to know how long this lasts. Thanks in advance for anyone who can answer these questions.

It is the proven-right density. I am 80 y old and suffered previously from sleeplessness due to the used mattress. Now with the topper, I do not sink in at all, it just gives support where the gravity pressure is heavy. My lower back pain has completely vanished, gone. Used it 4 months now with great joy and success.
There is no smell or odour or fragrance coming from the inert material of the topper.
I am using a bamboo water/moist impregnable sheet (body fluid leak, none by me) and this helps to anchor the lot on the bed, the mattress and the topper. How long this lasts, ask someone who has used it for 40 years and wait till then to make a purchase. Have faith. No worries.

Many thanks for your answer and glad the topper works so well for you. I am still looking for an answer on the density as i have bought 2 previous toppers and neither worked for me. Density of foam is what makes the difference and I can then dertemine if this product would work for me.

I bought a Trafalgar mattress topper - is it safe to use an electric blanket with this product?

1 answer
Gaile

I don't think it is advisable to use electric blankets on rubber as it doesn't breathe so it would sweat and prob end up going mouldy, I found I don't need electric blanket as foam rubber holds heat and is quite warm.

Yes, I put it straight on bed and it was lovely, and you don't need electric blankets ( not good over sponge anyway ) as it keeps you lovely and warm.

I gave mine 24 hours layed out on the lounge room floor to air and inflate because it arrives squished with all the air sucked out.

Hi, I have herniated disc (slip disc) and usually have severe lower back pain. Desperately need something that will make my soft mattress firm. Any suggestions on which brand and thickness would be best? Also memory foam or latex?

1 answer
Gaile
Gaile

Hi Tasha, I understand completely as I have had spinal fusion and also had trouble with beds, but I think if you have a soft bed I don't think there is much you can do to make it firm as I think you will find it will still sag, I think your only option is to get a firm mattress as I did, go and lay on them all and see which feels good. I bought firm one and have put my Ovela on top now. Hope this helps, good luck. Gaile.

has anybody bought the trafalgar gel infused memory foam topper with bamboo/cotton cover, through Kogan? Would be interested to hear or read any reviews of same. Hope you can assist. I am in big time need for some relief from bad arthritis in the hips and lower back, plus I can get hot at night. So thought the gel infused topper could help. Please let me know if you have purchased same and your thoughts.

Yes I bought the gel infused topper through Kogan thinking it will be cooling but NO it is not. Your body heat remains trapped in the topper and I think it is worst than not having it. I have left it just as a firm mattress topper but it does not serve the function it says it does. Dont believe all they say about the topper. I toss and turn through the nite with the topper

Many thanks Siew I really appreciate it....I thought as much....plus I couldn't see many reviews only stars suggesting its supposed to be good!! well ... we know different!!....I'm thinking I will need to pay more and purchase the Ecosa one....All reviews seem positive e.g. sleeping on a cloud and positive responses for their service, but again I think the gel may not be that good, but ?? And then there is another one, again more expensive...its called Memo Gel infused mattress topper...now this can be reversed if it is too cool for you!! So if you haven't purchased topper yet, I hope this helps you as your response has helped me. I reside in melbourne oz, down under so shipping with these two are good for me, not sure about you. Again many thanks. When and if I eventually bite the bullet I will put up a review. Good luck in your search....and better comfy sleeping!!

Siew I forgot to ask, did you purchase the Ovela or the Trafalgar one from Kogan? just curious....All the best.

I wouldn't as rubber doesn't breathe and I would think it would sweat, and you might end up with mouldy underlay. I have found that foam underlays and mattresses are warm as they hold in the body heat unlike the innerspring type. Hope this was helpful.

Kogan
Ross x.Kogan

Hi Maggie,

It is not recommended to use an electric blanket with the memory foam mattress topper. Memory foam is sensitive to temperature change and it may deform the visco-elastic foam, reducing the effectiveness of the body-moulding property.

That being said, the foam will respond to your body heat as you lie on it and quickly warm up.

Can you tell me if the topper is soft and keeping cool?.

No it does not keep you cool at all and it is firm. Dont bother to get it if you think it is going to keep you cool thru the nite

Gaile
Gaile

No it is not a cooling topper, like all rubber will keep in warmth, but it makes a firm mattress softer.
