Power without finesse

published

Seems to be quite robust and certainly powerful enough to make short work of any inflation job. The only negative is a pressure gauge with a range of 0 - 170 psi which is way too coarse when used to inflate ride-on mower tyres (8 - 12 psi) and basketballs (7 - 9 psi) etc. Very difficult to be confident of inflated pressure when you're dealing with the lower 5% of full scale.

A trade-off for compactness

published

Wanting a 240V compressor unit for a multitude of tyres not within easy reach of my car's cigarette lighter, I purchased this portable unit from Bunnings for $118 knowing, from A Youtube video, it doesn't cut it as a blower. But it works fine inflating car tyres and, with the attachments provided, balls, air beds and bike tyres. With a 3 year replacement warranty (at any Bunnings' outlet) I'm confident of getting value out of it. However I've found it wise to wear decent ear muffs: it's very noisy and its vibrations cause it to drift if not stabilised.
