It Will Cost You
Purchased the car privately in December 2017 with 32,000KM on the clock.
Absolutely loved it for the first ~9 months I owned it. Gorgeous interior, great exterior, lots of fun to drive.
Then the problems started:
- Sept 2018: check engine light came on. Tried to have it diagnosed by RACQ, but the fault went away before it could be diagnosed. Light came back on a few days later, repeated the process, and then a few days after that.
- Oct 2018 - Jan 2022: Went to the dealer 5 times, 4 times on the back of a tow truck. First three times to r...Read more
eplace sensors on the turbocharger to try to fix the recurrent check engine light, once to fix the air conditioning, and then one final time to replace the entire turbocharger itself. Cost was more than $3000 in total, and that was even after Peugeot agreed to replace the turbocharger without cost (which would've been another $2.5k) - Jan 2022 - Jan 2020: Persistent, but occasional engine knocking when accelerating, tried to have it diagnosed at the mechanic, but was impossible because they couldn't replicate it. - Jan 2020: Broke down in the Clem7 tunnel, every light on the dashboard illuminated, towed to the dealership AGAIN. ABS control unit failed, $2813 estimate for the part, and then whatever else for the labour. No, thank you.
Purchased in December 2021 for A$9,000.00.

French Originality
I have had this SUV since the end of July and it has been superb. The distinctive styling and refreshingly unique i-Cockpit concept and striking interior design with leather and panoramic sunroof appealed to me as soon as I saw it. I have previously owned a number of new Japanese cars from Nissan, Mitsubishi and Mazda which had a certain "sameness" about them. This Peugeot is different. It is one of the new products emerging from the company's renaissance and marks at turning point in quality and reliability as evidenced in a recent JD Power survey. I would have preferred if the turbo engine ran on E10 94 RON instead of 95 RON Premium fuel, however.
Purchased in July 2021.

Love this car!
We test drove a lot of SUVs before deciding on the 3008. There is nothing we don’t like about this car. We purchased a 2017 in October 2018 and have not seen another car we’d prefer. We went the GT Line. It handles really well, has excellent safety features and great fuel consumption. The massaging driver’s seat is a plus! Callum, the sales rep at Newcastle was great to deal with and showed us a lot of the extra features we would have taken ages to discover ourselves. We saw an ad for Peugeot’s online and wasn’t something we thought would be in our budget initially but is great value for money. 15k in and we haven’t had any problems. We recommend this car!
Purchased in October 2021 at Newcastle Peugeot for A$44,000.00.

Very disappointing
A year past its manufacturing warranty and only with 25,000km on the Odometer we experienced the air conditioning failure. It resulted in replacement of compressor for a cost of $1,745- using a non-genuine component. A genuine component would have cost in excess of $2,900.
This sort of failures on a so called luxury vehicle with only 25,000 km on the clock is unexpected and probably unheard of. We discussed the issue with Peugeot Australia and requested reimbursement on the premise that such a failure on such a low kilometre vehicles constitut...Read more

Woeful
I have just spent $5000 to repair a 4 year old car that is 3 months past warranty. The NRMA said "it happens" and they have no way of knowing if it was something that had been existing for a while, or had just happened. They discovered metal shavings in the fuel line and said that if it had been a Japanese car the same repair would have been around $1500. Nice looking car, but no more European for me.

Love my car!!!
I have owned many new cars in my life but this one tops the list! It's just a fun car to drive and so different from the boring normal . Its appearance inside and out is so stylish from the chiselled handsome front to the striking good looking rear. And well inside is just wow! You get so much as standard such as the LCD instrument display which VW or Audi charge couple of grand extra for.
There is truly so much to like in this vehicle you should really check it out ! You maybe surprised .

Nice car but lots of issues
We purchased the car after considering some other SUV and chose it because of the features it has in relation to the price. Many people advise us to buy a Japanese car instead of a European one, and now I understand they were right. It has a problem after another one and has been at the dealership repair centre at least once every month for the last 7 months. Besides the financial inconvenience, it causes many disruptions as you cannot count on your car when needed.
On the other hand, Peugeot Australia has been considerate so far in understanding the case and has provided financial assistance in some cases, even being out of warranty.
To sum up, we like the car but would like it more if it would work properly.

Good mini-SUV
I bought this 2012 Allure 1.6L for about 14K and pretty happy with it. It has a passable body but I love the interiors. You might have to get used to the fact that it was build as a left-hand drive and then moved to right. Some features that I love - plenty of leg room both at from and back, auto lights, auto wipers, heads up display, boot light that can act as a torch, adjustable boot floor, panoramic sun roof, access to boot from rear seat, storage spaces under the foot board of real seats, storage pockets in boot and the boot converts to a table for camping!

Beautiful car to drive
I was considering an SUV and test-drove a range of vehicles, including Renault Captur, Subaru XV, Mitsubish Eclipse and Hyundai Kona. The Peugeot had me with one look of the interior! It is typically Peugeot, and doesn't conform to the norms of boring interiors. They have opted for a fully digital dash and perfectly placed, large touchscreen for your Apple Car-play or Android-Auto. The drive is soft with great handling. I wouldn't suggest this is an off-roader, but the ride is very comfortable around town. Plenty of storage space in the rear and the passengers feel very comfortable in this vehicle. Would highly recommend this SUV.

Love the car but nothings ever perfect is it
I love this car. It's a 2012 turbo petrol with no extra electric gadgets. I drive in the city and country. It's reliable, it's safe, it's a pleasant place to be. It's not a race car but it's not slow either. All I have to do is drive, it has auto lights, auto wipers, a transmission which allows me to select auto or semi auto as well as sport mode or snow mode. It has selectable traction control (ESP), selectable parking sensors. Throw in my retractable roof and I really enjoy my drive every day in every environment.

Quite An Incredible Car
I leased a 3008 last Sep/Oct and drove it through Italy, Austria, Germany, France and Belgium. There were 4 good-sized adults on board with luggage for 8 weeks. It took the 4 suitcases in the boot as if they were made for it. The natty cubbyholes were handy. It was a 1.6 L turbo diesel with plenty of power. The stop/go technology was a bit tricky, but we managed.
Exceptional fuel consumption, comfortable ride, room for 4, great boot. A joy to drive through Europe.
Only the stop/start technology. Didn't seem to master that. Fuel comsumption - overall, 5.7!!! How's that?

Alluring allure
This is a SUV designed for all the drivers needs with handling and performance on tap when needed with design convenience faultless. This is the reason i drive this car,i get 7litres per 100km all day from a petrol engine that only costs $330 for a 20 000km service. It's cheap to run and great fun to drive. No other SUV i had test driven had these attributes. Also the leather heated seats.help the driver with the best driving position in this class, visibility and comfort help warn off fatigue.
Design and styling are distinctive low end torque amazing
Low profile tyres may be good for handling but poor for ride quality.55 profile better than 45;s change it.

My Peugeot 3008 is a great car - much better value than its German SUV counterparts
We have test driven and about to purchase. Thanks for the confidence but I am confused at your star rating
A low star rating may keep the car more exclusive to the Peugeot 3008 drivers club of 2 members

Very good car
Having owned a new 3008 XLS diesel since the end of January I can honestly say it is very impressive. It is a well appointed car with lots of electronic gizmos!
We have been getting high 6's for economy puting around town.
But we just did a weekend highway trip and the economy was outstanding!
Averaged 5.5lt per 100km overall but having the cruise set at 105kmh the car was ticking over at 1800rpm and sipping 4lt per 100km.
Also very quiet on the highway and the torque is great.
Servicing is for us once a year although our dealership have s...Read more

Trying to decide between this and a 508 wagon.
508 is a larger vehicle. I am looking at getting the 5008 which is a bigger 7 seat brother of the 3008.
I love the servicing of the 3008.
Once a year (20,000km) paid service of $300... Read more

Hi
I'm thinking of purchasing a new 3008 p84 .How are you finding the car now after you have had it for a while.Good & bad
Thanks
David

Hi David,
Since taking delivery of my 3008 GT Line last year, the car continues to live up to my expectations. The Peugeot is refreshingly different and distinctive. The car is well built, feels solid and comfortable with a smooth and amply capable drivetrain. It imparts an aura of quality and individualism by its unique exterior styling, inviting interior highlighted by the futuristic dash panel, punctuated by my favourite feature the i-Cockpit. It has been completely reliable so far and has lived up to and deserved the 60 plus awards it has won overseas. Real world suburban fuel consumption for me results in 9.0 litres/100kms which is not class leading but ok. Overall, I can happily recommend it.

Auto or manual?
We rented the auto back in May, found it dangerous and unpredictable. The auto gearbox throttles the engine power back to zero when changing. It's like you would do in a manual car,... Read more
but without you knowing *when* it's going to happen. Apart from the unpleasant shunting when changing up, we found ourselves needing to accelerate and join traffic at roundabouts, only to have it go to idle power, then change, then suddenly take off. Even the hire company agreed it was rubbish.
