STINGS LIKE HELL

Takes forever to sink in. Stung my face so bad. Sick of wasting money on these products. Would be nice if they made a moisturiser with less ingredients and didn't irritate.

New forumulation stings & burns

Original formulation was great- effective moisturisation and non-comedogenic. This new formula irritates the skin on my face on top of being ineffective. An embarrassing dark cloud now over a previously reputable and reliable brand, QV

New Formula = bad results

published

I have been using this cream for some time and over the past week have noticed it isn't the same, I then saw the New Formula wording on the tube and this makes sense now! My skin stings and itches when I put it on and hurts so much, I have to use an ice pack to bring the redness and itchyness down to an acceptable level. Think I will be finding a new moisturiser now.

Purchased in April 2021 for $9.95.

This sunscreen dried my skin out and made me break out into bumps. When I contacted QV they said they aren’t required by the TGA to label all ingredients. I think this is terrible. A consumer is entitled to know all ingredients they are using on their skin.

New formula smells..not as moisturising

published

I have used day dream SPF 30 for years, every day use for face and body, worked well I have fair skin. New formula has off smell and less moisturising, feels dry, is it the addition of zinc? Doesn’t need it, I can use sunscreens for that,...

Don't like the new formula.

published

Loved the old formula, it made my skin feel moisturised but not greasy., when using his new formula i seem to breakout. I have retried a couple of times and always the same result. Why change such a great cream?

Why did you change this?

published

QV daily face cream has been my morning ritual for 10+ years. It was a perfect product - loved it and would never have changed...until now! For the past week my face has had pimples (something I haven’t had for over 20 years) and skin so red and itchy I want to rip my face off! Just looked at my newly opened tube of Q.V. and discovered it says “new formula.” Please please please change it back. I can’t ever use this product again if it stays like this!!! Why change something that was so good before?

New formula burns badly

published

I've used this product for years and loved it. The new formula, like others have mentioned, stings the face every time, especially after shaving. Something is terribly wrong with it.

New formula is terrible.

published

The formula has changed (and smells like oats). I hate the cream now. It is too thick.and my skin breaks out. I used the previous lighter formula for around 10 years with no problem. Why do companies change things when they are already producing an effective and popular product. Hopefully if there is a sales drop ego may rethink and go back to the original formula.

Stings periodically throughout the day

published

I find that this stings my face slightly at different times throughout the day- I continued use for about 3 weeks but I have been aware of the sensation every day. My skin has show no signs of irritation, although it is uncomfortable for me and I feel kind of like rubbing my face but I can't because I where makeup on top. I definitely know that it is this product as no other products are new to my routine. The sensation definitely isn't a fluke because I have now read other review which state different degrees of the same sensation.
Its a shame, because the product itself isn't too greasy after application and works well under makeup. I'm disappointed.

Not hydrating enough for dry skin

published

I love the Q.V. range but not this product. My husband likes it as a day moisturiser after shaving. It’s not hydrating enough for my dry skin. It is lightweight and smooth on the skin which is nice but I will stick to using Q.V. Night Cream as my daytime moisturiser. Won’t buy this day cream again.

better than Cetaphil face cream

published

I've tried both Cetaphil face lotion and the qv day cream. Definitely prefer the QV cream. It doesn't sting my skin (the cetaphil one does a little bit). Not a fan of the smell, but it's not a problem since the smell goes away anyway. I hope they reduce the price though.

Does the job in summer

published

This is my go to light weight daily moisturiser. It's got SPF 30, so perfect protection from the sun. It's moisturising enough without feeling greasy like some do with high SPF. I have oily skin and prone to break outs this is one of the very few day time moisturisers with SPF that do not break me out. I have tried many for summer and this is the 1 I go back to.

My "go to" moisturiser

published

I have sensitive, dry, acne prone skin. I enjoy all of the QV products I have tried and this one is no exception. I have not had any reaction to the "new" ingredients previously mentioned. I love that it's SPF 30 and it goes on well under my make up without being too greasy. However, if I was in the sun for an extended period (i.e. more than and hour or two after I had applied the product) I would apply a longer lasting sunscreen. I have used QV products for the last 6 years and I like that it an Australian made and owned company.

Great cream

published

I have been searching for a face cream with sunscreen for a long time. Face creams usually use uv absorbing sunscreens which have been shown to degrade in the sun and cause skin damage as well as absorbing through the skin and may mimic hormones. QV face uses new generation absorbers that are photostable and don't get absorbed through the skin and mimic hormones. Thank you QV for finally bringing these to Australia.

Best to Worst Moisturiser!!

published

I too absolutely loved this product until they changed the ingredients. As soon as I used it my face was on fire. When I looked at the old one all the ingredients had changed. I haven't be able to find anything like it since. I would love to know what ingredients causes my face to burn. I will no longer use QV products.

QV face cream has gone from great to awful

published

I have used this product for at least 8 years and have had no issues. However, the most recent tube I purchased burns! I had to wash it off quickly as the burning sensation was intensifying. It left my skin red and irritated. I was going to try another tube from a different batch but from the other reviews I am reading I won't bother. Very disappointing, I loved this face cream prior to this!

Hi, i've recently started using this moisturiser and i've experienced some burning however i have an incredibly dry face and usually experience it with moisturisers. For those who have discontinued use, what did you switch to?

I was looking into QV because it had good reviews, but these seem based on the old formula. I use the Invisible Zinc Facial Moisturiser SPF 30. I don't get sunburnt or have any skin reactions to it. The only possible negatives are that it can make you look a tad white if not blended or if it's applied heavily. 99% of the time it's not noticeable. I should clarify I wear this as a sunscreen, not for its moisturising properties. I also only get a minimal amount of sun exposure during the day (morning and afternoon work commute). I would wear something thicker and hardier if I was planning away out in the sun.

It's probably better to contact ego pharmaceuticals directly to recieve an.answer - in the meantime I'd recommend you stop using the cream.

My answer is the same as Brian's. Only the company can tell you if the formula has changed, but I haven't noticed any difference. Here is a link to the site where you can find a list of ingredients. ttp://www.egopharm.com/qv-face-moisturising-day-cream.
I did notice that the ingredients listed on the website now is different to what is listed on my tube which was manufactured in June 2014. Anyway, call ego, it's the fastest way to get an answer.
