Hi Georgina,
I started on a quarter of a tablet, my Doctor advised me to "increase Remifemin by 1/4 of a tablet until l get relief but not to exceed 3 tablets a day", l ended up on the full dose, but they had to increase my pain medication so at 3 per day of Remifemin l also ended up on 3 per day of Catapres, just make sure your doctor knows exactly what you are taking. I always discuss my medication with my doctor because l am on such high doses and l was worried they might interact negatively with each other, only you will truly know if the medication will work for you.

Is there any difference between the AM & PM tablets?

Personally, I don't think so. My thoughts are that this was put on the packaging, to remember to take them am/pm. But... That's just my way of thinking.

I agree with Marie's answer on this one, but if you are worried just take both in the morning or both at night, once you get into a routine it will become second nature, but if you forget to take a dose DO NOT double up your dose to catch up it can be dangerous and that goes for any medication.

No as there is 4 tablets in a row and I get the first 2 tablets and take them in the morning and take the last 2 tablets in that row for night. i do it that way so I know that I have taken my morning and night ones.

Hi Gill, I would suggest that you discuss this with your GP. I am just a normal person not a doctor, so I would not be able to give you advise on this. Good luck!

Hi,
Obviously different for everyone and may be worth checking with your cardiologist. I had a couple MIs in my 30s and on coplavix, pravastatin, and atenolol for life. in late 40s and I started taking remifemin couple of months ago, I took 2 at both morning and night for 2 months now one twice a day. It has made a huge difference, no hot flushes after first week, no other effects with other medication.

Hi Gill and anyone else in a similar situation to Gill's,
With all due respect, when you have such potent medications already prescribed to you after a stroke or heart attack you should never ask people on the internet who are not doctors about adding additional medications to that, ALWAYS and l mean always consult your doctor.

However, one thing l will advise you to ask your doctor about if you have had a stroke or you have parents who have had a stroke and that is to get them to do an ultra sound on the arteries in your neck that flow through to your brain, many times these arteries can become clogged and that is what causes many strokes, so make sure you ask for an ultra sound of these arteries. If your arteries are clogged they will need to be surgically cleared out, it is the restriction of blood flow to the brain that causes strokes.

The other new treatment for stroke victims is Medical Cannabis Oil, check it out on youtube and then ask your doctor, this has just been legalised in most states in Australia and the THS found only in Medical Cannabis Oil can also lower blood pressure.

I am taking Remifemin (1 morning and night). I have habit of forgetting to take PM one and have a stock of them. Can these be taken in the morning? Is there any difference in the AM one to the PM one?

Firstly I would say that if you are forgetting to take it then you musn't need it that much! When I first started taking them I was getting the flashes every half an hour and they were so horrible taking the pills was at the front of my mind all the times!
Now after a few months on them they have pretty well gone and I have started to forget to take them some of the time. I have increased to two, three times a day (at my doctors suggestion - she also takes them). Taking them at different times is obviously to spread the dose out so that you get 24hr relief. I imagine as they are natural herbs it would be quite difficult to do anything harmful with them.

Yes you can take 2 in the morning instead of one in the morning and at night, but just to be sure as your pharmacist.

It says on the packet that you should consult you medical practitioner if you are taking a prescribed medication. I dont take anything so didn't have to worry about that. Remifemin is a great product. I take the normal one for day and the night one at night time. I found the best place to get them is at iherb.com I did stop taking it once and it didn't take long for me to notice the difference.

I've been taking remifemin for just over 2 weeks now, one tab am and 1 pm, superb result it has stopped the night sweats and day flushes but I am suffering anxiety quite badly, constant negative thoughts and no self confidence, so I have cut back to one tab per day. Any other gals feeling the same and should I have reduced my dosage ?

As remifemine is a natural product you should still take the minimum dose, during the month you will still feel the highs and lows of your monthly cycle, you may even need to increase your dose, I take four tablets per day and am still feeling lots of side affects...I know they would be much worse without remifemine, we certainly don't deserve all this upset at a stage in life when we should be out there enjoying ourselves...keep taking your tablets, seek advice from your pharmacist, mine was very helpful

My gyni said you can take St Jonn's Wort with Remifemin for moods and anxiety. Buy Blackmores quality brand and you can always ask a good chemist if not sure .

Hello Jamo5,
You poor darling, your situation is not uncommon and may l suggest you stay on your dose of Remifemin for night sweats and flushes.

What happens is that your body looks at the worst threat that it has and it highlights that threat to bring it to your attention, now that you are successfully treating your night sweats and flushes and they are under control your body is highlighting the next threat which is obviously underlying anxiety. l get anxiety and it is the worst feeling, so go to the doctor and ask him/her for Diazapan which is a muscle relaxant, it works within 10 to 15 minutes, and if it hasn't worked by then; then you will need to take another one.
You can take one or two tablets as needed and they are safe, my doctor takes them too.
You are trying to deal with 2 different medical conditions at the same time sweetheart, deal with the night sweats and flushes and then sort the next one out.
Message me if you ever need to chat.
