Please call the shop where you bought them from. We shouldn't give you health advice when we don't know what else you are taking. It's best to speak with a pharmacist.

I understand it is all natural, however, I would double check with your specialist or Doctor first. I've still found it to be good.

The regular Remifmin says to take 2 a day and the night time says taking one per night. So do I take one of each each day?

Lyn, I have only used remifemin plus, the recommended dosage specifies one tablet twice a day but if necessary take two tablets twice a day. So two to four tablets seems to be ok, but you should ask the pharmacist or GP if you have doubts.

Hi Lyn,,
I'm using remifemin plus, the dosage says 2 tabs per day 1 in the morning and 1 at night. I actually take 2 in the morning and 1 at night, I have found this to be working well for me, my doctor said this dosage is safe and I am feeling the benefits of this in only 3 weeks,,I'm sleeping better and my hot flashes have certainly decreased as well as my agitation. Menopausal life is more manageable these days, don't feel like I'm going insane anymore,,lol. I have tryed other products on the market without any success so I'm definitely sticking with remifemin plus.

Yes you can. What I'm taking is called "Remifemin Plus"which contains St John Wort already. Remifemin only contains the Black Cohosh.

Agree with Kazza. I started taking the regular remifemin and a separate St Johns wort. Now I’m taking the Remifemin Plus on it’s own. It’s a good combination for my anxiety.

I have been taking remifemin a few months now with no problems and seems to be working tho i have also been getting acupuncture. Over the last few days i have developed an itchy rash all over and i have no idea what it is from but I saw that a rash is mentioned on the leaflet in the box and says to stop taking them but i am hoping that only means if it was severe and immediate like an allergic reaction as I dont want to stop taking them! Has anyone ever experienced a rash from remifemin?

Since I started taking it I have noticed a raised red lump/flat blister on my chest (not a pimple) which I am going to see the doctor about. It could be some kind of skin cancer although I don't recognise it. It's an odd one so maybe it's from Remifemin. But it's not really a rash, just some kind of skin reaction. Will let you know what Doc says.

Lyn
Lyn

Not that l have heard of Blissin, if it has been a few months since you started taking Remifemin then l doubt that it is Remifemin that is causing your rash. Remifemin is made up of all natural products, but if you haven't changed your diet or started taking anything different or even changed your soap or laundry powder then you can always go off Remifemin and see if that clears up your rash and if it doesn't then at least you know it isn't Remifemin and you can look else where for the cause.

There are a number of things that cause rashes that you may not have considered and without knowing more about your rash l can only suggest a few, have you considered heat, perspiration, working in hot conditions, too tight of clothing, shaving?
Some more common rashes you can look up include
Prickly Heat Rash looks like very small blisters and is itchy, often appears in sweaty areas on your body, in folds of skin like between your legs, where your veins are in your arms (front side of your elbow) behind your knees etc...
Keratin Rash is a build up of excess keratin under your skin looks like pimples and does contain pimple puss but it is actually keratin build up, appears on your face, back, chest, upper arms and tops of your legs where most pimples normally show.
Perhaps if it's annoying you pop into the chemist, they see as many rashes as a doctor does but make sure you ask the actual pharmacist.
I hope this answers your question.

Lyn
Lyn

That does not sound good Misty Moo, yes definitely go to the doctor although if it was Remifemin that caused the raised red lump, then l would expect you would get more than one.
Yes good move with the doctor for sure.
Good luck.

could remifemin cause my period to start again?

Im really not sure, sorry. I had a hysterectomy years ago, so have had no periods for ages. All I know is that this medication made menopause worse. I admitted defeat, saw my doctor and am now on HRT. Its pure magic. I feel normal again. No hot flashes at all and I sleep solid for around 8 hours per night.

Lyn
Lyn

No l doubt it, it's more likely that you are on track for change of life and it sometimes can take even a few years until your period completely stops, just like it can take a few years for some women to completely establish their period. It's nothing to worry about but if you are pop in to see your doctor.

I honestly didnt have any relief at all with Remifemin. I was so tired all the time, yet not sleeping and the hot flases were hell. I am now on prescribed HRT and feeling normal again. Dont suffer if you dont need to. I tried to stick it out, but couldnt stand it anymore. I'm a different person now :-)

Catherine992
Catherine992

At 61 I would think you would be finished with menopause and so it wouldnt be that causing you sleeplessness. As we get older our sleep patterns change and the amount of sleep required also changes. There is another product that Remifemin does, aimed at sleep. Havent bought or tried it. Again, the normal methods often work, eating well and getting exercise, night music etc.

Lyn
Lyn

Remifemin certainly does not help me sleep, l'm lucky if l get 4 hours sleep a night, Remifemin just helps me with sweating.
As l often say "l'll sleep when l'm dead", sorry to put it to you like that but l have watched my father struggle his whole life trying to get a good nights sleep, resorting to sleeping tablet's to get some shut eye, l gave up trying when l was about 25, l'm 52 now and it hasn't hurt me not sleeping much, l just keep myself busy, do things l have to do and l have a Siesta when l eventually get tired enough too and l get back up and back into it. It was one of my old doctors that put my mind at ease on not getting enough sleep, l always had an overactive mind that kept thinking of creative things for me to do, however, my doctor reminded me that in other countries like Mexico they all have a Siesta and then go back to work, perhaps l was born in the wrong country, either way l don't worry about it any more. Whereas, my Dad complained that if he didn't get enough sleep then he would get pounding headaches and he had to work the next day, his doctor didn't like him being addicted to sleeping tablet's but had no other solution and Dad's argument was "l'm not addicted to sleeping tablets, l'm addicted to sleep and Serapax helps me achieve that", "Different strokes for different folks"; that's what l say, he's 84 and still fit as a bull, still takes Mum dancing 3 nights a week so Serapax hasn't hurt him either.

Can i take remifemin and also take hormocrine at the same time?.. have been taken remifemin for 3 weeks now and someone suggested hormocrine so trying both..

2 answers

Im sorry I do not know. I am not a medical doctor or naturopath. Perhaps ask somewhere else on this site? I was taking remifemin with a whole lot of other supplements at one stage because I was desperate for relief but they were all diuretics so my sleep was being broken at night from getting up to go to toilet so I just stuck to Remifemin. It did help quite a bit (for anxiety) but was still having panic attacks so had to start antidepressant now instead. Perhaps also ask a pharmicist? They are usually the best people to check with about drug or herbal interactions. Our local pharmicist sells herbal products and has access to medical sites about both synthetic drugs and herbs. All the best with your journey.

I don't know, that is a question for your pharmacist or doctor, each time you add a new medication you should always check with them first.

Not sure. I only take one a day, and it has reduced the night sweats a lot. (15-20 body blasting night sweats a night and day as well, to maybe one or two mild ones) I take it at night. It is different for everyone. It didn't take long to work, only a week and it was reducing. If you are on full dose, and it is not working, it may not be for you. Good luck, it can be so tiring

I took 1 Remefemin 3 times a day and that worked for about 6 months, then the doctor had to increase my pain tablets and all of a sudden Remefemin wasn't enough. I went to the doctor who put me on Catapres as well at 1 tablet 3 times a day, now l am on both Remefemin and Catapres, l have not had any side effects from either medication.

Hi, when I started taking Remefemin I took 1 tablet in the morning and 1 at night and I too felt that it wasn't really working that well so I started taking 2 tablets in the morning and 2 at night and I then noticed it was working for me. I must mention I didn't just decide to take this amount firstly I rang the tREMEFEMIN HELP LINE that I think was on the information sheet that is in the packaging. The lady I spoke to was very nice and helped me with all my questions and she gave me the time to speak to me so much so I remember we end up speaking for at least 40 minutes to 1 hour.
