I have charged the battery fully but when I hit to power the machine, it turns itself off after a few seconds. Any suggestions?

Just purchased a Ryobi 36v cordless blower vacuum (RBV3600), when engaged to vacuum the blower is still pushing out air, is this normal?

Faulty product. I returned 2 in a row without using either for that reason.

Is it possible for the blower to become blocked? It makes a humming sound. It tries to work.

It appears there may be issues with the Blower Vac sensors
I have a 36V Blower Vac that has just stopped working. I have 2 Batteries and a selection of other 36V Ryobi Tools. The Batteries are fine. Is it possible to access those sensors so I can just do my own repair. Unfortunately I don't have receipt so cant do a warranty claim :-(

I purchased a new Ryobi battery tester for my leaf blower, charged it fully but the machine won’t work.

I have just purchased the Obv 1800 blower vac for my unit terrace.
On first use debris flies out of the bag where the bag is joined to the motor ?
Why is it not a tight seal or is there a gasket missing to stop this ?

I have purchased a Ryobi 36V Blower Vac. Date of purchase 21/11/20
from Bunnings Warehouse.
Have used it today for the first time with a fully charged Battery, used it on Vac.
Battery lasted only 10minutes.
Is that normal ?
regards

Richard

Hey there Ricky S.
My experience was exactly the same. I was lucky to hit 10 minutes usually it was less. I took mine back after about 3 or 4 full charges as it didnt get any better. Bunnings made it difficult as possible for the return as well

Motor will not start regardless of battery holding full charge. Sensors come microswitches are faulty I believe. Unit is only one year old. Can I get my money back?

My advice would be to check that it’s not the battery that’s faulty first. I understand you say it’s fully charged, the brains that run the lithium batteries can sometimes fail and falsely say it’s charged when it isn’t. From memory they have a 3 year warranty, so you can take your receipt in to place of purchase and they should be able to help with that. If it’s not the battery, your blower should have a warranty as well, I’m not sure of the length of warranty the blower vacs came with from memory.

why wont my ryobi blower blow very much

Cmac

Maybe the same reason the Ryobi vacuum dosnt suck hard enough, maybe it has a blockage, or maybe it’s just no good and you need another blower.

How long should a bag last? The zipper on the bag broke in the first year. Bunnings advised this is not under warranty as it is a consumable. Big disappointment. Even Bunnings staff member suggested we shouldn’t have bought it....

It should be covered for the first twelve months under warranty or Ryobi should cover it to maintain good customer service.

Most of the time it comes down to the battery even though it is fully charged it may of lost its amperage capacity
I replaced the battery with a new 5amp and the problem solved

My blower /vac no longer starts. It is about 18 months old. Have left battery on charger for 1 day and is fully charged but vac still doesn't start. I can't find anything online with an answer to this problem

Take it back for warranty repair or replace.
That model has sensors that fail and shuts the machine off

Can the sensors be disabled ?

how come the bag is a problem for most of the reviews I read. Some indicated the unit was very noisy

Fossip
Fossip ·

The reason the bag is a problem is because they have fitted a inferior zipper which breaks and then you have to buy a new bag. I used my vacuum about 6 times before the zipper broke. Then I bought a more expensive version which blew out the zipper about 2 minutes after I started vacuuming again. Because I like the machine I then bought another bag, and took it to a travel bag repairer and had him fit the best zipper available, which means that now I can use the vacuum without having to worry about the bag. I might add that I contacted Bunnings and Ryobi, but guess what.....no answer nor a refund for the money spent on a proper zip.
The noise is not a problem, wear earmuffs like you would with any noisy machine.
Hope this helps.

blower stops. I then take the battery out and put it back in and it works again. I do this a few times until it won't work any more even though the battery still has lots of power in it.

Its not just voltage it is amperage that you need.
These machines need a 5amp battery to operate correctly

RBV3600 doesn’t start, turn on, or anything. Battery is fully charged. It works fine in the pole pruner.
Anyone got any DIY fixes for this Blower/Vac ?
