Pathetic customer service response from Ryobi
Some issues
This is a copy of a review I wrote for the Ryobi website which they rejected for no particular reason..."
Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!.."
So I requested clarification as to what would be a suitable response but no answer - NOTHING...here's my review...
I just purchased this mower from Bunnings and there is no manual in the box so came here to download. The mower starts well but is revving low ...Read more
and therefore no oomph...So I went to the question and answer page to ask about this matter and work out what is going on and can this be adjusted, but the link does not seem to lead to questions and answers, just a subscribe link. So can someone at Ryobi make this plane and simple so I don't have to waste my time flailing around trying to find the the correct information. Other than the mower lacks oomph I was looking at those reviews regarding the catcher dysfunction I am starting to wonder once we get a bit of moisture is it a fail. I noticed many have reviewed what looks like the previous model and found issues with the catcher. Why doesn't Ryobi just answer the generic question regarding this issue so everybody knows what the actual problem is and how to rectify it rather than dealing with this issue through individual emailing. This type of strategy for dealing with issues is like playing hide and seek. If I came here prior to purchasing this mower and read those reviews and the lack of public response from Ryobi I would have not bought it. I would have looked at another brand. Just give everybody the correct information at the point of review or even at the top of the reviews otherwise it gives the impression that Ryobi are crossing their fingers in the hope that the problem will go away with a degree of dissatisfaction from their customers. Just come clean. Also I do wonder about the amount of lite-weight plastic that is used in the construction...that mulching plug looks vulnerable to me. So I am giving this a 3 star (Change this to 2 STAR) at this stage and depending on how I get on from here I will adjust this...I want it to be a 5 star purchase but so far I need this low revving matter resolved and a some reassurance regarding the catcher would be good, but if this can't be sorted i will be returning it. I await your response...Purchased in February 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse.

Awesome mower
Great mower for the price, the 175cc handles my thick kikuyu grass no worries. I've put up with old second hand mowers in the past but nothing has cut it as cleanly before. No issues with the catcher, i'm not sure what the other reviewers were complaining about, my only issue is that it collected everything and i couldn't fit it all in my green waste bin. The rear discharge to the catcher was much bigger than the self propelled ones so i went this model to catch more grass without clogging. I would 100% recommend

Had high hopes but disappointing results.
I bought this mower not for the Ryobi brand nor for the reasonable price but for the Yamaha engine thinking to myself "if they've stuck a Yamaha on it, it must be ok" Wrong! While this mower overall does an adequate job of mowing the lawn there are multiple failings it suffers from.
1. For whatever reason it feels resistant to turning, that is it would much prefer a straight line, Even a gentle turn seems like hard work, I can only put it down to the square edged wheels and a slightly longer than usual wheelbase.
2. The cutting height adjustmen...Read more

Great mower, good all rounder
This is a terrific mower. Easy to start, reliable and easy to use. I love that it comes with a side chute so that you don't need to use the catcher all the time. We have a large property, it cuts the rough stuff as well as the lawn. Sometimes, when the grass is wet, or damp, the chute clogs-up. I carry a stick to pull the clogged material out of the way. The Yamaha motor is the star of the show!

Excellent mower. Does a fantastic job.
An absolute breeze for mowing. Starts first time every time. This is my second ryobi mower.
Pros: Strong powerful Yamaha engine, Deck wash is fantastic, Large catcher, Side discharge and mulch. 4 blades
Cons: Lot of plastic materials used. Hitting a large rock can damage the side multcher or rear catcher discharge door.
All that said this is a great mower does a decent size yard no fuss
Weight is 36kg.
Helpful hints that kept my old ryobi mower in excellent condition that I will continue to follow....Read more
* Kept the cutting deck clean after each use. (this ones equipped with deck wash) Only do once it's cooled down in a shady place. * Use a blower around engine to remove any grass, dust after each use. * Oil change every 25hrs of use and spark plug clean. * New blades every 50hrs of use. * Armour all protector (Spray on a cloth and wipe over to keep plastic From deteriorating) * Keep out of sun and weather when not in use. * Don't lend out your mower.Similar opinion?
