I have reclined my new Millenia SICT to rear facing but did not get the Isofix straps out first. Now I can't seem to un-recline it... any help?

I'm not too sure. We had ours professionally installed. We've never removed it and bub is only 5 months so still in rearward facing. Maybe YouTube can provide some assistance?

Hi my toddler is above the shoulder mark when rear facing but when I sit her in the forward facing, she goes below the rear facing line. How should I measure when to turn the seat around? Thanks

do you still have the padding in while rear-facing? if so remove that and you'll find that your toddler will go below the markers again.

Edit
I had the same issue today after the car seat was installed by a certified installer. I came home to my husband and said it's not right and he proceeded to uninstall, then reinstall the car seat. Turns out the seat belt was put through incorrectly - above the crotch buckle when it should have been below. See step E. on page 33 of the 'seatbelt rearward facing' instruction booklet.

When in rear facing can you sit the seat up more vertical like it would be in ford facing? As my baby prefers to sit up straighter and is to short to be ford facing yet.

Hi sticksy,
There is only one recline position on every rear facing seat made with Australian standards.
You must have the seat on full recline and in rear facing mode.
I suggest once you ensure the seat is set up for rear facing, you try to install at a more upright angle for your child.
Download an angle meter app. The angle can be anywhere from 40 - 50 degrees. 45 is preferred.

We have plenty of information over on our face book page if you would like to check it out.

Search Extended rear facing mums in the face book search bar.
:) Thanks for asking :)

Has anyone use this car seat on a Virgin flight? While I understand the seat has been approved for airline use, Virgin also require the seat to not exceed a width of 40.6cm (16 inches).

My seat was specifically bolted thru to the boot of the car to make it comply, so no planes do not have room or places for this kind of seat to be inserted, all planes i have been on only have the across waist no other additions, so you can make the brace position if required

Sure will. Depending on if it's a hatch or sedan you may require a tether strap extension for hatch or wagons? Otherwise it's a fairly straightforward installing otherwise if your not confident in fitting seat yourself I highly recommend you take it to an installer and pay the $50 install fee.hope this helps

Is there a way to bring the buckle up a bit higher? I feel it is very low between baby's legs and so the straps are digging into her thighs/legs when we do the straps up??

Yes there is a red clip/strap at the top of the seat behind the headrest that you can pull upwards and move bubs up higher into the seat . That way there is more room at the bottom for her legs

Sarah P

I also have had the same issue with my baby since day 1... The buckle feels too low and the thigh straps dig in so much that it leaves red marks on her thighs, even when loosened off a little. Feels like a design/manufacturing flaw, we will be contacting Britax to try and sort out or get a refund. Did you get any answers regarding this problem?

Ello

I agree. I've had the same problem since day 1 also. The harness clips dig into my sons thighs leaving red marks through his clothing.
The only way the strap can be made longer is by hooking it straight through the desired slot as opposed to it doubling back and making it too dhort. But obviously this is contrary to the instructions. Little advice Britax?

We have it in our CX5, it's snug but it fits. It has to go behind the passenger seat as when it is fitted properly it takes up a fair bit of room so the passenger seat has to be fairly forward. Not sure if it can be fitted in middle as the seat in middle is small and raised?

Hi, can the top feather adjustment be shifted to the other side of the seat? If so, how? I'd like for it to be on the right of the seat (so the baby is behind the driver) rather than where it currently is on the left.
Thanks

Britax can do it for you, but you will need to send the seat away to them.

It should however, it depends on how much of front seat space you can spare. Bear in mind the comfort of front seat passenger. You could also ask the shop assistant to give a demo. I bought from baby mode and they were kind enough to give a try in the car and see it for real. Hope this helps.

I am wondering if anyone has taken the millenia to Europe? I am hoping to take mine to Italy. I am aware that this seat does not meet euro standards, however if the seat is able to be installed correctly, I would like to bring it along.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Girl30, thanks for your question. Many countries have laws for using child restraints and their standards differ from Australia. Laws vary from country to country and even state to state. Countries with strong laws are European countries, USA, Canada, Japan and South Africa. Many vehicles around the world are not yet fitted with a child restraint upper anchorage point or fitting thus to use an Australian seat an upper anchorage fitting needs to be installed. There will be no fittings in Taxis and most rental cars. In many developing countries there are no seat belts in which case a child restraint is of no use at all. Your child seat may be used in some countries like Europe, USA and Canada but you need to check with your rental car company or if you are buying a car check with your insurance company and local police. Many rental car companies do hire locally compliant child restraints in most of the above countries. Please feel free to give us a call on 1300 303 330 if you would like to discuss this with us in further detail. Kind regards, The Britax Team.

Has anyone fitted this seat in a Mazda CX-5? I want to know if you had to put in Centre seat or how far forward did the front seat need to go?
Thanks

I can answer my own question for anyone wondering with a CX5
In rear facing baby mode it will only fit in the middle seat as it's too large and you need to push the driver or passenger seat too far forward (which is fine if you'll never have a passenger in front seat)
Not a huge issue that the seat needs to be in the middle I'm sure I'll curse it when waking a sleeping baby but we'll see when that time comes

Hi just wondering if you used the Isofix for the middle (I know there aren't isofix points in the middle seat but I was planning on using the inside points of both passenger seats). Does it fit ok in the middle?
Also, I have read that the middle location in the back seat is actually the safest position for a rear facing car seat. I guess this is to do with side impact.

Thanks

gbrownie

We only tested it in store
But we're told we'd have to use the traditional anchor points
It was an ok fit in the middle
Just annoying to have to jump into car to put baby in and buckle up safely

HI, I also own the britax Trufix and that seat has rigid isofix lock at the bottom and once clicked in, it's very stable. I found the millenia isn't as stable even when clicked into the isofix as it is a loose belt and still wobbles if you rock it when the green engagement sign is present. Is this normal?

Hi Sambo, thanks for your question. The ISOFIX fittings are different on these two products. The Millenia SICT is the flexible ISOFIX connectors however should be tight when the green indicators are showing. If you feel that these are not tight enough please feel free to give us a call on 1300 303 330 so we can discuss this with you and point you in the right direction. Kind regards, The Britax Team.

Hi Pew, I know this answer is a bit late, however I thought it was important to clarify. In rear facing mode, the seat must be put into the rear facing recline position (lowest recline position). That means that there is only one recline position that is possible when forward facing. Thanks
