Almost 10 yrs old but going strong
Just realised we've had this tv for almost 10 years. To its credit it is still going strong. We have never had it repaired. We never had trouble connecting it to new technology like Chromecast, Blue tooth devices, etc. Picture quality does has not diminished. Sound is still great. It was a great choice back in 2008.

A lot of people say Samsung TV is great. So far my experience has been so so.
I have 3 Samsung TV and all same series. Out of the 3, 2 have had issues.
32" is still going strong. 26" and 46" both have had issues.
26" lost it's pixel quality.
46" has had one repair but since the repair, it has been working till now for 6 years but broke just after 3years.

Going strong after 5 Years
Great TV. This is a great TV. Old now but if you stumble across one grab it straight away.
Full HD resolution, vivid colours and dark blacks.
The TV plays .avi, .mp4 and many .mkv movie files via usb/hdd and the Anynet+ feature is something I cannot believe is something I ever had to live without.
One remote to control numerous Samsung devices, so incredibly handy!
Probably the most reliable TV Ive ever owned. Ive had many larger, more expensive units since buying the LA46A650 but none have been as versatile or reliable as the Samsung.
Samsung, if you still sell these anywhere then let me know, I want some more!

Avoid Samsung ... customer service is apalling
The picture screen went grainy on one side within 18 months. Samsung's 1- year warranty meant we weren't covered (it was the old consumer law). Lots of back and forth with Samsung (although you wouldn't 'reasonably expect' the screen to go bung after 18 months -- but that's the new law), they agreed to pay for the cost of the new screen and we paid the labour -- an expensive exercise.
Three years on and we move into a new home with the Samsung series 6 only to find that the Samsung won't "HAND SHAKE" with the matrix switch (our A/V system)...Read more

Working perfectly after 3 years
Great picture most of the time, blurring on edges on some movies and when I run movies from a camera. Most of the time great picture and Tv Hd looks better than some new 2012 tvs. Tv still working nicely and never had a problem ( Touch Wood ! ) Sound oK 7 / 10 Picture tv 9/10 Blu Ray 9/10 dvd 7/10.
Picture most times
Blurring on edges on some movies annoying!

Terrible !
16 months old & refuses to turn on. Samsung have flatly refused to honor any good will at all seeing its still a very young tv & the repair bill is $400. I will never allow another Samsung product into my house ! 3-4 years is mildly reasonable but 16 months!
Samsung even admitted to me on the phone that it's a know issue with this model & still I'm left $400 out of pocket.
Loosing all my hard saved money in just 16 months.

We have had our 55" Samsung S6 for a year now and are very happy with it. I am very impressed with Samsung LCD & LED TVs, picture clarity and colour is amazing. We are about to purchase a 32" LED as a 2nd TV and will definitely buy a Samsung, it is a great brand.
Looks very classy, the surrounding black frame is tinged with burgundy red in the right light. Picture is fine, no problems that I can detect and we have our TV hooked up to our surround sound system, so the sound is fine. Our TV is 55" and it looks fantastic! Our loungeroom is no...Read more

Great Picture when you can get a signal?
I have owned the Samsung LCD tv for the last few years and absolutely love the visuals when its playing a DVD or when playing a XBox console, this TV is a 100Hz and the picture is stunning for an older LCD TV!
The downside is that this TV struggles to pick up a 'digital' free to air signal in Queensland? I have tried on many occasions, shielded cables, signal amplifiers and a myriad of other options without any luck - I live in a line of sight as the crow flies to the TV transmitter so this should guarantee me a great picture with all channe...Read more
ls at hand? Nearly every time I turn on the TV I have to research the channels and I may ever get back is 5 channels and most of them will be Ch 7 and ABC - which these dont provide a great night in at all - not sure what's wrong with it however suspecting that the digital tuner isnt strong enough or up to today's standards? Otherwise the Samsung has 3 HDMI sockets, plenty of old RCA plugs, two USB's and an optical sound plug for the home theatre - so alot of options can be plugged into this TV at once, I mainly use HDMI's to ensure that the best picture and most efficient cables are used. I have even connected my laptop to the TV to get a massive screen for video playback and file browsing. The picture on this TV is great, with blacks being black and the other colours are true to form, there is no apparent lag in the picture during sports or high speed games overall - however the extra dollars were spent at the time buying this TV for that fact. One downside to the screen, is that Samsung in their wisdom chose to use a shiny LCD screen, this really does let the TV down when you have a light turned on at night and the angle reflects into your eyes, this is something that should have been looked into with an anti reflective coating as standard like most TV's. The remote is something of a masterpiece in its own right, it lights up when you press a dedicated button, and others after that and the light fades after a few mins, this helps a new user navigate the controls easily at night and avoids any missed button presses. The layout of the controller is easy to navigate unlike others, and the on-screen menu is 'Human Friendly' for once! Batteries last for ages and are simple to put in and pull out.2 comments

very good while it worked but capacitors started leaking just after it went out of warranty
Nice picture while it lasted but got the dreaded black shadow as soon as it got out of warranty. When someone told me it could be bad caps I Googled "Samsung bad capacitors shadow" and it turned out its a very common problem despite Samsung's denial there was a problem with their TVs. Unfortunately I thrown away my old perfectly good CRT TV so I had to buy another TV. This time I got the extended warranty so at least I get 3 years out of a TV and needless to say I stayed away from Samsungs.
Good picture while under warranty.
Black shadow across the screen after it ran out of warranty, leaking caps and burnt board too expensive to fix

Stunning picture quality
This is a great tv. We looked at lots from Sony etc, but this was in front for value and image quality. Set up was a breeze, just plug in and go. Newer tvs will may have internet wifi built in, check specs if this is important to you, otherwise you'll need to find another $80 for a wifi stick. Good solid blacks and sound quality is pretty good too. Guide screens that show program timimgs are a bit slow to refresh, but this may be the fault of the tv providers rather than the set. Shop around for best deal, we bought locally after doing our home...Read more
work and got within $50 of online, plus no worry about delivery damage / insurance etc. Highly recommended, but do your research, this is a very competitive area. make a note of model numbers when shopping - it can get confusing when you are out and about. Very good tv. I have the 46" version and wath lots of sport. You can see small areas of blur but only if you are really picky and for movies and normal tv it is really clear. Overall very happy
Great looking tv
sound system not too good but a good home theatre fixes this

If you like watching sport get a plasma, definitely, otherwise stay at 32" or below. Plasmas are reflective in bright rooms which is why I didnt get one, but I regret it, as curtains easily block the light. If you're a movie buff, you'll love the HD, the picture looks impressive to me. The functions are all top class, nothing annoying, and the internet and usb ports are a great asset.
the tv internet is surprisingly useful if you like youtube, not much else at this stage. easy to use, and a generally good picture when using HD. The USB ports ar...Read more

Good
Overall I think its a great TV, good picture, easy set up, and a lot more options than others ive seen.
I bought my Series 6 about six months ago and really love it. It was stupidly easy to set up (literally plug and play), and I find all the menus and options very easy to use.
I dont think it is great to watch fast moving sport. I watch a bit of AFL and there is quite a lot of colour blurring even with slower movement. This is despite adjusting all the suggested settings and contacting Samsung. A little disapointing as the Series 6 was suggested over others with this in mind.

Terrible
It is light and looks good BUT the serious problem with the audio, especially that one is stuck with HD channels only playing through the TV and the loss of picture makes this TV a return for refund product
Thin and light
Sound quality is very poor.
Only has optical STEREO Out
Hence one can only get stereo. HD channels must be played through RUBBISH audio
1920x1080 - but you lose about 5% - so don't try t ouse your computer

Bought a 32" series 6 for the bedroom when JB Hi Fi had them on sale. I have been completely happy with this tv and can't fault it at all. The picture quality is excellent and always clear. Playing dvds on this tv also brings out amazing picture quality. Haven't hooked it up to the pc yet so unsure about how it goes as a monitor. The sound is also nice and clear even if you don't have it hooked up to an entertainment system.
Great picture quality, easy set up, attractive price
Haven't found a fault

My set is the LA52A650 HD 1920 X 1080, overall I am happy with the picture quality and features.
Having had to use the warranty for a repair wihin 6 months I have knocked off 1 point, otherwise I would have scored a 5
Great HD picture quality from the TV tuner and with the FOX IQ2 hooked up to it. The set has a USB socket for Pics and Music which makes slide shows entertaining.Swivel base makes it easy to access the sockets at the rear.4 HDMI inputs for all the toys to plug in.3 Year warranty which I have used within 6 months and hopefully wil...Read more

Don't buy Sony or Panasonic until they can do this technology as well as Samsung! We sweated over this decision and have absolutely no regrets at all.
We bought two Samsung Tv's one the LCD with 200hz and the other the Series 6 LED with 100HZ, both 115cm. I love these TV's, we watch sport and see no difference between the two, although supposedly the 100Hz is meant to be less responsive. Movies are fantastic, and we have been off to rewatch old classic so we can appreciate them in the true movie at home like environment. Can't wait for any ne...Read more

We love our new Samsund HD Series 6, only wish could have affored to buy the Series 8 because they are just so clear and amazing to watch! At the time we bought our tv Samsung were offering a great deal & we recieved a FREE Samsung Blue Ray dvd player, We love it!
Watching movies & Playing the xbox now is heaps more fun!
Vivid Colour, clear screen and great sound. Light to move, nothing like those old heavy & bulky tv's. Very easy to keep clean. It can swivel around to suit the angle you're watching at. Very affordable.

The red tinged edge is fine. I thought it would stand out too much but it's not even noticeable. The television has a great picture although we're not a serious home theatre user so I can't rate it's performance in terms of HD, Sound etc. Too the untrained average home user it seems really great to me.
Attractive television. Excellent picture. I love the USB input on the side, easy to watch video files.
I've been called twice about recalls on the stand. But wasn't worried about this in my instance as we've got it wall mounted. At least they pro-actively call you about it! Expensive but good quality.

I will be buying another one very soon
Quality of picture, price. Very easy to keep clean, as the unit is mounted on the wall.
