Read moreg of your wood especially if it is quick burning stuff. Opening the oven door cools it down quickly also. If it isn't getting hot you maybe need to vacuum the side internal vents which is recommended to be done every week.

How do I clean the flue from the bottom the chimney top is so high up from the roof totally inaccessible. The dampener is offset to the flue, any tips or the proper equipment to buy straight off would be great. Beating the expensive trial error and destruction.

check your flue mine was also smoking into house and found that the flue had started to block up

Hi. I have just resurrected an Everhot 204. Remade bricks, baffles, flue etc. after curing the bricks with a small fire, we have had it going for a couple of hrs with only exit pipes of water heater cool enough you can touch them with not a lot of water heating. Is this normal ?

Probably just the first firing. Open windows blow air out with a fan and gentle heat until it stops. Do check first there isn't some plastic or something stuck on somewhere.

We used Black Beauty Cast Iron Stove Polish and it came up a treat. Clean all the rust off you can first with a wire brush or steel wool. I recall the info was all on the label. Give the room plenty of ventilation when you fire it up. Have fun:)

Read mores dormant for the summer. But, if it's stuck take the little inspection opening off from the top and work plenty of WD40 or equivalent into the hinging part. All very difficult to get to, but do it! After a day or two soaking start working the handle. You may have to use an extra lever of pipe.
We have purchased a H&C and the flue kit.
Looking at the flue kit Instructions it looks like at the ceiling an outer silver sleeve hangs down, is this correct ? as I thought it should be black so the finish would look better.

Hi Nadia, We have a black flue kit so it is a black cylinder that hangs down from the ceiling and encases the chimney, insulating it as it passes through the ceiling and roof. I don't recall if a silver one was available.
