5 years on and still the best.
Ive had my Ah230s for 5 years now. Use on a commercial basis. Im still on my origional set of blades. Reach is excellent ( would be nice to be able to add an extension pole but its fine without) litterally starts first pull every time and thats still the case 5 yrs later. Never had it in the shop for repairs. Ballance is superb compared to the sthil or any other on the market. By far the best. Great value for money. Would never go anything but this machine

The Best Long Reach Hedge Trimmer
I've used a few long reach trimmers, some dedicated (Tanaka, Shindaiwa) and some multi tools (Makita, Bushranger Shindawa) to some degree.
The Tanaka and Makitas' cutting head could be angled (within their ranges) to any angle. Their drawback was that the locking mechanism was basically tightening a bolt into position. Especially on the Tanaka this invariably loosened and you had to re-tighten it. The Tanaka didn't have the same reach as the AH230S.

ared to the other multi tools was easy to put together. Bushranger and Shindaiwa multi tools were sometimes difficult to put together, especially the Bushranger. This was a real nuisance on the job. As a purpose built machine the AH230S has no peer. It's range of motion is good and at each position/head angle within the range the head is locked in, so there is no 'loosening' or movement as with the Tanaka and Makita.
