Well designed and excellent dryer

published

The best thing about this dryer is that it does not have an exhaust louvre on the door. Instead, the exhaust louvre is at the corner of the unit (or you can block the front and have it exhaust from the rear of the unit). The door has a clear hard plastic window so you can watch your clothes being dried! It has a quiet and smooth operation when drying, with plenty of capacity (4kg of clothes when dry). The mounting of the unit is simple enough as there is a template provided so you will get the drill holes in the exact spot for the brackets.

Good and effective cheap dryer

published

Honestly I was quite surprised at how effective this cheap dryer is at drying clothe. Although you do not have any functionality to speak of, the dryer does an amazing job at drying your laundry. So much so I would recommend it above the typical Miele dryer which often results in half dried laundry

Excellent value for a simple dryer that just works

published

Got the Simpsons SDV401 to replace an old Simpsons dryer that has lasted me about 12 years. The price of this dryer is second to none and it is so easy and simple to operate. The only downside is being 4kg, you won't be able to dry lots in there but for the occasional use it is fantastic value!

Simple and dries well

published

If you're after a reliable dryer and don't need all the bells and whistles, definitely give this machine a go. It does its job well and is super easy to use. Literally only took a few minutes to set up. I've read reviews of people who have had this same model for over 10 years so am confident this unit will last me a while.
Just be careful not to turn the timer dial anti-clockwise (as with most dryers).
Fantastic value for money. Highly recommended.

Great Dryer

published

Great machine. Very easy to use and quiet. A batch of wet clothes usually take about 30-45 minutes to completely dry, depending on fabric of course. It's very light to carry and doesn't take much space in the laundry. vent circle direction can be changed to angle the heat. Very reliable, easy to clean lint filter. Would recommend great value for money.

Good value dryer

published

This is my second Simpson dryer from this range - the first lasted about 8 years of heavy use.
The dryer is inexpensive, sturdy and easy to use - I also prefer the simpler controls, as less likely to break down.
Overall, very happy with the purchase - although energy consumption is high.

Cheap and solid machine, so far so good

published

I guess a dryer doesn't need to be too fancy, simpson does the job and well priced, had the same brand for different places over the years and so far does not have any faulty one yet, hope this is the case for the latest one we bought, energy saving is not so good though.

Simple to use. easy to clean out filter and reasonably priced. Compact and can be mounted above laundry machine Besides, an Aussie brand which I am happy to support to keep our economy going! What's more, if any repair i presume parts must be cheaper too. So what more does one want?!

Great little dryer

published

Being a 4kg dryer l don't recommend buying if you want it to dry blankets and other large items as it isn't built for that. It is a great little dryer, perfect for singles, couples, small families or those who don't use them very often. I've not had any issues with this dryer and it's gotten quite a workout in the time I have owned it. Price point is great, very affordable.

Awesome

What an awesome little clothes dryer. I purchased this clothes dryer about a year and a half ago. Everyone warned me saying it was too small. I am a family of 6, and for a 4kg clothes dryer, it packs a lot in. Never lets me down. Its fantastic and was cheap as well.

Fab dryer. Been a god send it this recent weather and having a newborn. Quick drying. Easy to use and clean. Highly recommend. Make sure you shop around as some shops are charging more for same dryer. Also have the same dryer at work (vet clinic) and constantly getting used.

Excellent product!

published

I have recently bought a Simpson 4kg clothes dryer from one of the Harvey Norman stores in Perth WA, as they had massive discounts across the store on that day. I am very happy with the product: it is quiet, very simple to operate, energy efficient, easy to install, weighs only 28kg. It has an easy to clean lint filter and the exhaust grille at the front. An optional rear venting kit can be purchased separately. A perfect dryer for a small family, especially in winter.

The perfect dryer

published

First used this while staying in an AirBnb. The landlord has two of these in the house and after the first use, was convinced to purchase this when I got back home.

Unit only weighs 28 kgs so it was easy to load into the back of the car.

This little thing is so simple to use, just select the heat setting (high or low) and how long you want it to dry your clothes for. Easy to clean the lint out after every use and it comes with mounting brackets so you can hang it off the wall.

Does need a ventilation kit though if you plan to use this in an enclosed laundry. I didn't notice but the walls were wet when I forgot to open up the sliding door in the laundry and had to wipe it all down in case of mould.

Good value

Perfect for my needs. Didn't want anything too big or bulky and this is just right. Cleaning the filter is very simple. Great value for the price.
Only bought it two days go, and used once, but happy with it so far. Prefer the dial as opposed to digital. Very simple to operate.

Fantastic clothes dryer

As a mum of a toddler, I feel like I am forever washing clothes! This dryer is super handy and very economical.
The reverse tumble function took a little getting used to, but overall we are really loving this dryer!
The option to front or rear vent was appreciated.
I highly recommend this dryer, especially if you don't have a huge budget or space

Works great

No issues what so ever, cleaning out the lint filter is a little annoying after every use but meh. Not a big deal, first world issues I guess lol
It was on super special at the time so was a complete steal. Has lived in our garage and provided us with a reasonably fast method of drying our clothes when we need them in a rush. Easy to use.

Good dryer

published

A handy efficient dryer that doesn't take up much room or much time to dry clothes and even heavier items such as towels. A good buy and the price is at a reasonable range to suit my budget. Settings and timers are easy to use. Only downfall is having to clean out the filter after almost every load

Small and Mighty

Dryer is economical to buy.
Mainly used to finish off line drying that isn't quite dry.
Not the biggest dryer out there but it does the job.
I have dried 5 towels and a few washers with no issues.
Had a good sized dent in the front when unpacked which was disappointing, hence 4 stars.

No complaints

I love it. I try not to use it very often but it is great for those "still damp clothes" emergencies. It drys clothes quickly, it is not very loud and i find it incredibly simple to use. Everything you would expect from a clothes dryer. I honestly can't complain.

Perfect dryer for small family

published

This 4 kg dryer is perfect for my family in this cold and rainy winter.
The size is not big and I mounted it onto wall without any difficulty, just on top of my washing machine.
It's simple and quiet, although no pipe to the outdoor but almost no steam in the laundry.
