8/10 car
I drive the 2012 sedan and its great. Fuel consumption averages 8L/100. What bugs me is that it can be really noisy accellerating in a tinny way, not a low grunt.

A very very good car for the money best snow vehicle
We purchased the manual hatchback last of the series 2016 model. We wanted a car for our frequent trips to the ski resorts. This car was the cheapest AWD vehicle on the Australian market available, at the time. Last year the inevitable happened, we were caught in a snow storm, coloquially referred to by locals as Snowmageddon 2017. I haven't seen a situation like it. There were cars in ditches everywhere. I distinctly recall an X3 attempting to drive forward near Dainers Gap Perisher, and the car moving forward 1 meter and simultaneously slidin...Read more
g sideways 2 meters. Our manual Impreza with it's full time MECHANICAL symmetrical all wheel drive did not slip an inch. I fell in love with this car that day. It got me and my family home safely whilst big 4wds were being retrieved with families on the side of the road watching on in sub zero Blizzard temperatures. This car is fit for purpose. NB If you are after a snow car get the manual it features a permanent mechanical symmetrical AWD system. The auto has an electrical non permanent version from what I understand. Sadly the mid 2016 model was the last of the manual Imprezas. Fuel economy is great, no concerns here! No reliability issues. The autostop/start fuel saving feature can be indecisive at times, but not obtrusive to the positive driving experience. Other positive features, the base model has supremely comfortable seats, the visibility is well above average, lots of deep glass to see outwards. Negatives, the stereo sucks big time. The good news it is not the head unit, but the speakers, they truly are the worst things ever, my sons i20 has much better speakers. If you like listening to tunes I would suggest allowing a little bit of money to replace the speakers and throw in a small amp, this has transformed the sound, making this car a joy to drive. The engine power is underwhelming combined with high gearing makes overtaking a gamble at times. The trade off is good fuel economy. But overall the positives outweigh the negatives. We will keep this car for the kids and run it till it dies.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Nice Car shame about the lack of Vehicle Service
Car drives well except keeps shutting down at lights and wont always restart.
Lack of after sales service is a problem.
Every time I phone for service they are too busy and will phone back. But they never do.
Is it any wonder that many buyers from Coffs shop elsewhere for their new and used vehicles.
I am a businessman and if staff are not doing their job I want to know about it.!

Not impressed with the service people Subaru
I purchased the 2014 Subaru Impreza brand new. From the time I stepped into the car yard I should’ve walked straight back out as I was treated like a dummy and was not offered ANY extras throughout the negotiation process..
When I went to have the chat ..I had to pressure the service people to make sure all was ok..but this was stated as complimentary on the Subaru website, and in the books...down the track first service ..all ok they took my money..second service ..no tyre rotation, and wear was not picked up on the inside edge, and $1000 fo...Read more

Very good but not perfect.
This car is good there are a few things I dislike though:
- With auto when changing gears there is a slight delay. Annoying when reversing on to a busy road and needing to accelerate quickly.
- Stereo is also very slow to power on and change "source" selection.
-Speedo is out by 6km. Told by Subaru it is legal and done purposely because the cruise control is not sensitive enough and has a 6km+\- variance.
- Cruise control as previous comment. Slightest dip in road will cause car to decrease or increase.

New and improved Imprezza
Ride quality is excellent and the sedan cabin is roomy and comfortable, with more space particularly for the rear passenger legs. Moving the A-pillar forward and adding a quarter panel to the door has helped improve visibility.
You can feel a tad of the extra low-rev torque on take-off, but it's not huge and this is not set up to be a performance leader. The drivetrain is angled more at laid-back than laying rubber, and the aim is to keep the fuel figure low. Although it is not a luxury car, it is a joy to drive. It has definitive steering whi...Read more

All in one package!
Awesome build quality, impressive technology and features list makes this a "no brainer" choice for our 2nd family car. Eyesight safety features, Android auto/carplay, auto stop/start, reliable boxer engine makes it a steal for the price if compared to competitors. Paid 29k driveaway at Suttons subaru and very happy with the purchase.
Fuel economy is 7.9-8.5 for normal weekdays to work "sydney traffic" commute.

Subaru Impreza 2017 Safety with Style
Full sports model packed with Safety and compared to others in this price range 32Kto 40K was leaps and bounds ahead, Technology that works, Comfort and Style. Eye sight technology in cruise mode is sublime, the quite cocoon when on the highway leaves the rest behind road noise in the others we test drove before purchasing was significant in comparison.

Safe
Safety is a big issue for me. I was in an accident and my car was written off, but it remained safe around me. Except for whiplash, I walked away.unscathed. I wasted no time in buying a new Impreza to replace it. It has not missed a beat and it is now 4 years old. Can't imagine buying any other type of vehicle.

Subaru Impreza 2.iS Sedan
Full sports model Impreza has sports wheels. Love the technology including eyesight lane wander warnings and auto cruise control that adjusts speed according to traffic in front. Also love the blind spot traffic warnings in the side mirrors and reverse camera and auto start/stop. Drives great for a 2litre and has more than enough torque. Great leather interior and heated front seats. All in all a great sedan and very sporty looking also.

Nice car to drive
I find the steering to be quite light and precise. Road holding is good, but its no BMW. However, hold on the road is very good on wet or loose ground. Everything feels as if its good quality inside and nice and firm. Not a lot of road noise. Fuel economy is up to the driver really, I average about 9 liters per 100 kms. .Only point to be picky is it could have been given more power. Otherwise its a nice safe car.

Love it!
Recently purchased this car after having a horrible experience with a 2013 model Ford Focus (Petrol Auto). Decided to go back to what I knew best, and that was the quality of the Japanese Automotive Industry. Have had this car for a total of 5 months now and have driven 6,000km. So far honestly cannot fault a single thing, an absolutely solid car that I know I can trust as it will take me wherever I need to be safely, hassle free and in absolute style for many more hundreds of thousands of kilometres! Love everything about my car and can't see myself with anything other then Subaru for a very long while!

Thought to give an update! The car has now done 22,000km and I still cannot fault it. Have had first service, was about $200, everything went smoothly. Car is due for second service soon at 25,000km. ... Read more

Great car but a couple of irritating features
I purchased a 2014 Subaru new in February 2015. I chose Subaru because of it's good name and also because the visuals are great - you can easily see out back windows as well as sides. I've found it really reliable. Two features which are frustrating are:
- there is no natural cool air that comes in from outside...it comes out warm even on a cool day so I guess it's coming in over the motor?
- there's a guide as to how many kilometres you've got in your tank (on a monitor just above the radio). This is absolute rubbish and a very poor feat...Read more

A real lemon
Wiring burnt out by the dealership which wrecked the tumbler valve. Revs high uses a lot of petrol, dash rattles wheel trims slip and cut through the tyre valves Motor runs hot, hesitates and vehicle hops. A real nightmare and the dealers don't want to know, nor does Subaru.

Subaru Problems
Purchased a MY12 G4 Subaru Impreza as a demo. From the day of delivery the car had problems. Massive oil consumption, major dash rattles including dash panels coming lose, engine shutting down randomly then failing to start. Subaru customer service is the worst I've ever experienced and after 12 months and 24 trips back to the dealer for warranty jobs the car was sold.
Check out a few USA review websites which have much more info than Aussie ones regarding the issues with the Impreza. The FB20 boxer is a dud! Horrible, gutless, drinks oil and ...Read more

Bluetooth and after service is ruining the car
Three of us each purchased an Impreza in the same month. None of us can use our Bluetooth sets whilst travelling at any speed. Given that I travel 3 hours everyday this has been a major issue. I've taken my car in four times to have this repaired - the most recent resulted in my entire sound system having no sound whatsoever - as they handed the key back to me assuring me that they had reset the software, tested it and it was definitely fixed. I have to go back in again now to have the stereo fixed as well as the Bluetooth. The car is brand new still. My friends continue to have their issues too. Outside of this - it's a good car, but regret that i didn't buy the Toyota.
Fuel consumption, feels safe
Bluetooth doesn't work, poor service

MY12 Impreza
Bought last year working fine, pretty good with milage, 5.9 ltr/100 km on highway. Need to service 6 monthly, drove almost 11K in a year. Very good control on road, happy. Dealer service car without any issue on warranty repairs. Sound system is not very good, but has bluetooth.
Good control on road, all wheel drive, good milage, quick response.
Air noise on freeway, 6 monthly service.

Excessive body rattling from dash board, from rear, wind gush if you drive more then 80 km/ph, ground noise, if window is down then rattle from window glass. Spoke with Subaru at time of service and advice me that rattling issue are handled only for 12 months period and after that we need to pay them to attend to it. if you want reliable car then Subaru is good but if you want quite car then subaru is not a good option.Similar opinion? 2012 WRX Premium Hatchback
Purchased a new WRX hatchback as we are expectig our first child. We explored the majority of hatchback solutions with some specific criteris: safety, power, AWD (bonus), room, price, style.
Other hatchbacks failed to deliver in power, andthe Subaru excels in safety - especially as it has a superb AWD system. It is comparable to the Golf R, which is a nice car though to upgrade the base R to have the same features as the Premium WRX (Leather, GPS, sunroof etc...) it would be an additional $20+K??
The non-STi version is sedate, and unlike ...Read more
