Does the base come off the blender so you can clean under the glass in the base and also the blades. You have answered a question earlier with the directions to go to the Sunbeam manual but it just shows that the lid comes off the glass blender. Can you give me a yes or no answer please.

Hello Jacqueline Burgess
To clean the bowl, half fill the blender with warm water and a small amount of detergent. Press the PULSE button for 10-20 seconds. Then remove the jug and rinse it under running water.

I have just used this machine for the first time to make nut butter. The ring was burnt and the burnt plastic went mixing with my nut butter. Is there anything I've done wrong? I used the blending blaze. I mainly kept it at setting 1 but turned to setting 2 for a couple of seconds. Should I keep it at setting 2 for the entire time? How long does it take to turn nut into butter? I'm afraid the time used to make butter is so long that I could break the machine. Has anyone used this Sunbeam LC6500 to make nut butter?

I had the same issue with mine. I took it back and got a replacement. Might be a faulty batch. The new one has been perfect.

Just wondering if this product crushes biscuits well? I have a Kenwood that is terrible - leaves lots of big pieces, even after a considerable number of goes at it. Kath

Does the black base and blades unscrew from the glass blender jug for cleaning? There is no mention of it doing so in the manual and we cannot move the base on our new machine.

Hi Kathryn,
It may be a little tight at first. Maybe try holding where the button type hole is and gently prise out with something from the other end or push from behind.

Thanks I’ve tried everything to slide it out without success. Is there anything else I could do?
