I am looking to perhaps purchase this TV in the 50" version but have a few queries

1. How long does it take for the TV to boot up. I have read somewhere there is a fast boot option how much faster is this and is there any side effects to using this
2. What version of Android does this come with / support.
3. Is there local dimming or similar feature on this TV set. Cant see it listed on TCL website but appears in some sales websites but wondering if it may be misquoted
4. Do Android notifications appear on screen whilst watching TV. For example incoming email, application notifications etc. If not is there a way to make them display (for certain apps)
5. On boot up does it go to last channel or input that was watched when it was last switched off or does it go to a home screen that you need to select what you want each time
6. Anyone know where there is a video review of this series I could watch to get more of a feel for how it all works
7. Is the voice control included and if not where can you buy it and how much

Thanks for any answers you are able to provide

There is a fast boot takes the same as normal to turn on, fast boot doesn't seem to effect anything but every now and then it does a long boot it's self takes about a minute.
I'm mainly Apple so not sure about Android so much but version is March 2022.
Haven't found or needed local dimming.
It has access to play store and most apps run on the TV that can be configured how you wish.
I found a Vid on youtube but the american version is Roku which almost the same.
Mine 75" came with voice remote and pretty handy.

Hi Craig. Can't answer most of your questions, but I do know that my tv boots up almost immediately. I haven't chosen a fast boot option so don't know if that is on or not. When I switch off then back on it goes back to where I was last. And mine came with 2 remotes - the standard one and the voice one. Supposedly the voice remote is a bonus not usually included with this tv, but just check before you buy.

Works fine with my PS4 but i dont online game, for the price is a good TV but a bit of technical knowledge required as it is Android, main problem for me is sometimes needs a restart on turning on but rarely and have no problems when on, I have Foxtel and the HD snd 4k is excellent

I just purchased the 65p8m and Tcl confirmed its a 60hz panel marketed in australia at 50hz - so it runs on both and is fine for gaming.

Hi Andrea. I would check out Grant's review which has some recommended settings. He uses standard (dynamic is way too bright for my liking), as do I, but I do prefer movie mode for movies. You can swap modes depending on what you are viewing.

Hi Calvin. Not using this as a monitor, but my only very small complaint with the tv is that there is a very subtle stuttering when watching sports on kayo. It's hardly noticeable, and may be something to do with my settings (though I've tried everything I can to get rid of it) or my internet connection, but it is there and slightly annoying. So if you're wanting a monitor for games it may not be the best option, but best try it for yourself to be sure.

I haven't hooked up a pc to it yet - but I think will be clear picture

upon saying this, don't think connecting it your going to get 4K HDR - PC requires a bit of work to have 4K HDR, which means a good GPU with HDMI port 2.0 and a CPU then turning it on in windows 10

Hi Vicki, I have the 85P8M. Set it up last night. Connect the ethernet cable from your modem to the lan socket on the TV. When doing setup don't select wireless, but scroll down to ethernet. Connected straight away. I then streamed 4k netflix to it and watched The Island. Great quality. Easy process.
