great for chips
As said, does chips well, can add ingredients to spice it up like chilli flakes, garlic flakes, set and forget, timer works well, so serve when finished. Tried a few other ingredients with less success, but early days, need to learn how to do it. Minimum oil must be good.

Good but not great
A much healthier way to roast and fry foods, but the product feels cheap and plasticky, and I'm worried about its longevity.
That said, I've already made chips and a stir fry in this thing, and it so far its diversity in what it can cook has justified the decision to buy this style of air roaster over the 'basket' style roaster.
I also own a Thermomix so this is the perfect companion. The thermie is awesome, but the ability to fry things goes missing.

Wonderful purchase - got a demo unit from Harvey Norman's earlier this year for $180 and it has done multiple cooks.

No more burns from splattering oil!
I love this machine! No more oil wastage or worried about oil igniting.I was concerned that it took 30 minutes for the chips to cook but by the time I prepared the rest of the meal, time was up.I have a slight vision problem and this means I can have my chips cooked in a safer way for me.The unit is easy to clean and not many parts to clean. It is a bit cumbersome but light enough to carry.I am recommending it to all I know.

Brittle housing
I loved my machine. It worked well. But for a leading brand its housing and blade are useless.
For the price it didn't last long before it snapped the lid and blade rendering it useless. I did email the company ages ago but never heard anything back. I threw it out as a waste of money. Very disappointed!!

Perfect Chips everytime without any Oil!!
I eat healthy and never used to fry chips because of the fat. When I got this and started using I didn't even need to use oil because I used the frozen chips from Woolies which turned out crispy and yummy for just 25mins. I keep it cooking on the side while I make other dishes.
Recommend it!

This works ok for me.
This machine cant do it all but it does chips well. It uses 1520 watts of energy that heats up quick in a small area rather than you do the same in a 3000 watt electric oven. That makes it cost effective, cheaper to use and the lack of oil used makes it healthier. I bought it just for that and it does a very good job, cook time of 30-35 minutes to do this on average makes it fast and easy to use. As a quick healthy snack maker, it does its job. I would not expect it can do all things well, the agitator is fairly robust and crumbed items will...Read more
likely rub off. I do not use it for that purpose. If you target the appliance for chips/wedges/fries (using a chipping tool on potatoes), it is really good. And you can dispense with the rubbish processed foods for your guests or kids on the weekends. Only thing is that it is noisy. Portatbility means you can cook outside and not heat up the house in summer. Here is a tip. If you rub your chipped pototoes in salt and some oil and let it sit in a bowl for 15 mins it will release moisture making it even more crispy. Yes chips can get soggy, just adjust cooking times and get them out fast to prevent sweating once cooked. You really have to make your own rules up on this thing.Similar opinion? wonderful way to cook
We Are very pleased with our purchase we use it almost every day.
Only one issue and that is the timer will not switch off the machine and perhaps the timer itself is not loud enough.
We prefer really crunchy chips and this cooker is perfect however we find that in most cases the recommended cooking time for "anything" is about 30% more than recommended.

use it at least twice a week
this machine makes great chips and fried chicken, and almost any thing with paddle installed, i have never burnt anything in it since everything just spins around. any meat chopped up with marinade/sauce will come out perfect. how ever i would recommend not to put large bones or full chicken drum sticks inside since the paddle can snap, instead chop the ends off or peel them. paddles can be brought off eBay for $30aud
this air fryer is almost perfect in my opinion, how ever it fall short of 5 out of 5 because it can be hard to clean, food gets stuck in the paddle and the white plastic seems semi porous so it can not simply be wiped and looks pretty filthy eventually. in the end of the day i think this is a mans tool.

Love it
I love this machine, the paddle does not need to be used when cooking something larger, really good for vegies,
specially potato, put in raw. The only problem is with the paddle, I have had to buy 3. Otherwise I love using it.
Have used it for meatballs, chicken, vegies, etc. Whole dinners.

Not getting on too well with it
I find the centre piece to be a nuisance, it messes up the food, maybe I am not using it properly but I am going according to instructions. I find it actually breaks up some of the food especially fish and burgers so I mostly use it for chips because these come out ok. Not as good as I expected.

Piece of junk
I got mine home and was excited to use it. Cut up my sweet potato washed and rinsed it put it in and waited 30 minutes to come back to uncooked chips because the heating element doesn't work. I can't seem to get it to work. It's a piece of junk.

An indispensible kitchen appliance
I've had the Tefal Actifry for 2 and a half years now and use it 2 or 3 times per week. It excels at making the perfect hot chips, but I also use it for sausages, frozen dim sims, 'roast' vegetables, chicken pieces and whatever else I can think of.
It's fantastic for when you come home tired from work and can just throw in some frozen chips and defrosted meat pieces (if it's fresh red meat, I brown it quickly first so I don't get blood on the chips), jumble together a quick salad or microwave some frozen peas, corn or carrots and in 20mins yo...Read more
u have a satisfying hot dinner. I've read some of the criticisms of the unit and can only imagine that either (1) they have been unlucky and got a faulty unit (2) they haven't followed the instructions correctly and maybe overfilled the product to snap the paddle or (3) they expect too much - I bought mine on sale so it was reasonably priced, if I use it 3 times per week for up to 3 years - I consider that's a fair life for a kitchen electrical appliance at this price. I admit that it is noisy, but it cooks quickly and it's worth it. It has just started getting more noisy, so I suspect that the motor may be starting to give up but I fully intend to buy another one (a larger dual bowl model) when this one dies as I'm very impressed. UPDATE 28 July 2022 - I got a free replacement unit for the noisy one and it broke today. I went to use it and found the paddle had broken in 2 places (the plastic deteriorated from wear and tear). So the product lasted well at 3 years and 9 months with regular use (about 3 times per week).Purchased in October 2021.

Very pleased ...but
I have used this product nearly everyday. I love it, so quick and easy to use, easy to clean and great for kids to heat up fish or spring rolls after school. But, one day it just gave up the ghost. The centre piece broke, I rang for a replacement, no worries there. I could still use it for cooking, all I had to do was give the food a little turn now and then however the motor has just worn out. It groaned and tried it's best but I decided it was in it had had it. Less than two years old and now it's off to the tip. Big money but not long life.
