This product does exactly what it says it should.
Firstly I want to mention something. I have read through the reviews of this product and clearly they are not all about the Thumbs Out thumbguard. The Tguard is not a Thumbs Out thumb guard. As consumers we need to be careful about comparing the right products.
I bought this for my 4 year old son. He has been a long time thumb sucker and we were advised that he needed to stop asap. It wasn't easy, but I didn't expect it to be. This is an ingrained habit so of course it will take some perseverance and time to work. Nothing is ever a magic cure....Read more

Collected slobber, made hand useless
I was hopeful with the TGuard and paid a lot of money for it. The company has a good website to help stop thumb sucking using their product, but it did not work for my son. The most annoying part is that he could not use his hand properly when wearing it.. how is he supposed to wear it for three-four weeks!? Other probably better products I found at www.stopthumbsucking.org, like nipit. I thought it was interesting that mavala stop and other thumb sucking nail polishes don't work at night.. duh, I didn't think of that on my own. Good luck to you!

Terrible
Difficult to use. Can only put them on so tight before they cut into the child's hand. If have any give my daughter was able to remove. They are big and cumbersome. So fiddly and take a lot of time to put on which is a problem with a fidgety young child. Waste of money.

Know better, choose better.
Great product that did what it said it would.
My son has been a thumb sucker for as long as I can remember and I needed something to help him stop. I found Thumbs Out online and ordered the product. It came pretty quickly which was good as I just wanted to get him started.
We had some trouble at the start so I emailed them and spoke to a lady named Ana. She was great. She helped me through the issues and kept in contact with me throughout. It was nice to get this type of customer service from an online store. I don't think a normal shop has ever gone to the trouble of following up.

Get a Tguard thumbguard instead
This product is a rip off of the TGuard, but doesn't do it right. We made the unfortunate mistake of ordering this one first. The TGuard was a much better material and had the instaclips which made it much easier to use. This one is also much more expensive than the original TGuard.
Expensive, bad material, rip off

Not an easy solution at all...
We bought this product for our 3 year old daughter, who has been a thumb sucker for sleep time since 6 months, and then progressed to more and more thumb sucking to the point where it was constant. No matter how tight or securely strapped, she can easily slip her thumb out. We tried putting two straps on using both holes and strapping it up in various different ways, and still she can take it off.
We tried taping her thumb up with band aids and tape and still can get it off. It has been four months now that we are using it with her, and al...Read more
though there has been an improvement with her thumb sucking during awake time (when we can monitor her behaviour), during sleep times we always find her with her thumb in her mouth, taken out of the glove. We have seen her pull the thumb part upwards just enough so she can bend her thumb and take it out, usually making the rest of the glove very tight. The plastic is not very good quality at all - (though we never put in dishwasher and only wash in warm, soapy water) started after about a month to crack, even to the point where chunks of it were falling off - and now the straps have little cracks that look like cuts, which if they continue to rip will mean there is no way of actually strapping the glove on). One of the gloves is cracked at the thumb part all the way down from the top to bottom in a straight line. We have trimmed down the tips with scissors and now resorting to taping them up with band-aids so they don't split further (of course making them quite sticky and very hard to clean, but the alternative is spending $100+ on another set, which we are not sure is going to work anyway). Customer service when reordering straps was terrible. We did not receive the products even 3 weeks after we ordered, and our email inquiring about the status was ignored/overlooked, even though it clearly stated the urgency of replenishing the fast depleting supply (which I then ordered from elsewhere). All correspondence is done by email, so there's no customer service to call or person to speak to directly. It's very difficult to read so many testimonials about what a miracle this product is, while watching our little girl still struggle terribly.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Thumb sucking is not in our house anymore!
I had a serious thumb sucker and we had tried everything to get her to stop. Her teeth had started to move forward and had the beginnings of that ‘bucked tooth’ look. I found Thumbs Out online, and was really quite sceptical about whether or not it would work. Well surprise surprise, after only a few days the thumb sucking was ceasing, and after about a month it was gone! Thumb sucking is cute when kids are little babies, it’s not so cute when they are older and have their thumb permanently attached to their mouth!
Easy to use, cheap compared to orthodontist bills, really nice packaging (comes as a present)
