Product issues

We have brought 3 different packets and the dummies keep breaking. Tried putting in a complaint yet no one to contact. Very disappointed as my child does like these dummies but not safe

Purchased in January 2021 at Baby Bunting for A$9.00.

Perfect Soothers

published

NUK soother makes my baby feels calm and relax and can prevent from jaw malformations coz of its orthodontic shape. I love it!
We love what our customers are saying about our calming soothers!
I tried a few different soothers but the nuk Soother is the one my baby liked the most. She was born on the smaller side but this dummy fit just right. It certainly calms her down and she is happy again in no time. I also love the designs.

Purchased at Coles.

Happy first time user!

published

I struggled settling baby for sleep time. Thought I’d give the Nuk dummy a go after doing some research and my newborn (4 weeks) took to it great for the first time but also settled and slept within minutes. I was reluctant at using a dummy as a first time Mum but this has been a lifesaver as he looks so comfortable using it as well. Highly recommend

made to be defective?

published

I have two pairs of different size orthopedic pacifiers and I don't know if theyre defective but they all leak water into the sucky when cleaning and saliva when he's sucking. This is just gross and makes a squeaky noise when he's using it. They are quite expensive for the quality.

Othodontic Dummy is the only one we use

published

I found that these are great quality and don't wear quickly with sterilization as some others do. Our baby took to them well at the beginning and hasn't had any issues, we have found that he can freely pop it out when he is sleeping. We have used a few different brands but keep coming back to Nuk.

My Grandfather, a dentist, recommended only NUK brand dummies

published

The orthodontic shape of NUK my grandfather who was a fantastic dentist was the only type of dummy he would recommend to all his patients who were new parents - they're the only dummy that he observed didn't interfere with the coming in of baby teeth. Our two children have both hag them and had no issues with their teeth, or with accepting a dummy or with weaning off a dummy.

Highly recommended as best for your children's teeth.

Cut into my son's cheeks

published

My wife bought this dummy based on reviews from a pregnancy magazine. We liked the orthodontic shape however the shape of the dummy actually cut into his skin. When I called up the Nuk customer service to report it and asked for it to be swapped to something more suitable they told me they couldn't help me because it was a "change of mind"

The only dummy my baby will take

published

My daughter loves these dummies. We have tried alternative dummies but she much prefers these and seems to be able to suck on them with greater ease. The only annoying thing I find is that they are hard to find in store. Apart from baby specialised stores the only one I can find them in is Target. Apart from that we are very happy with this product.

Perfect!

I've used these for both my children. They are sometimes hard to find in store. However I like the plain pink or yellow or blue or green nuk starlight dummies as they aren't as big or in ur face as some!

One of the only soothers that comes with its own cap

published

soothers are all pretty much the same - they are made from silicone or latex and the baby sucks on them. The advantage with NUK soothers, is they have the orthodontic shape (the funny shape is apparently the true "orthodontic shape" (whateva) and allows for the kid to breathe easier around its nose without obstructions) and each soother comes with its own cap to keep the soother clean when transporting it or storing it (heleluja! why dont other brands do this basic hygiene requirement????!!! ). Hard to find other brands that do these two characteristics at the same time.
true orthodonic shape, individual cap for each soother to remain clean when storing or transporting
one of the more expensive soothers to buy, but worth it

Baby liked it straight away.

published

The issue of dummies will polarize. We didn't use one for our first kid but our second was a real sucker. Anyway she wouldn't take one of the other brands sold at the supermarket. I don't know why, and a quick search on the internet will support this, but babies seem to like this one and ours did over others. Maybe its because she had a really small head and this one didn't cover her nose.
Baby took it

Just the best

We have used a few differant soothers, but none have satisfied both bubs and us as much as the Nuk soother. The Nuk soothers have such a "comfy": fit against bubs cheeks, and she settles by far the easiest when she has a Nuk soother. Quite simply these are the only soother will will use from now on. We have tried several brands, but save your time and go straight for the Nuk.
fits so well against babys cheeks and she loves the shape of the teat
Can leave a mark on babys face as it has a snug fit

My little ones adore this dummy!!

published

I have always used nuks for all my kids and will continue to use this dummy for my baby due next year there perfect! They have a fantastic shape that is natural the big ball looking dummies are not a natural fit where the nuk is more designed to fit there little mouths. I love how they grow as your bub grows as they come in different sizes.
Everything the designs are gorgeous and they come in different stages as your bub grows
There a bit pricey for a dummy

best dummies dont bother buying other brands

published

These are the only dummies my son will happily accept. If i try giving him any other brands he will spit them out and whinge until he gets the Nuk. Its a lifesaver when its time for him to sleep because when i pop it in his mouth he nods off rather quickly.
bpa free, orthodontic design, helps my little guy snooze quicker
more expensive, i can only find them at the chemist

Great Dummy

published

I have found the Nuk the best brand of Dummy, my first born in 2006 and second in 2010 and they both had Nuk dummies. The shape is perfect around bubs mouth and they are orthodontic dummies so both of my childrens teeth are in perfect shape. They are also easy to clean and store. Highly recommended!!
The shape, easy to clean and cute designs

Hi just wondering can the water get inside the nuk soother? The brand I am using currently sometimes can get water inside so have to squeeze it out not convenient. Also, can the soother causing red lines on baby's skin too when sucking long time? Thank you

Hi there. I have found it doesn't really matter what brand you buy, they all get water inside the silicone nipple. hold the fatter end then shake or flick the soother the water comes out. It's a health thing that they have to all be able to breathe and also manufacturing the nipple has to be hollow inside to allow the baby to suck and not cause gum and jaw damage. The water retention part is annoying but not life changing. The baby shouldn't have red lines if they are sucking. If your baby has red lines Try the next size up. Also I would try to avoid using a soother for prolonged periods as there is a school of thought that says that sucking on a soother tricks the baby into thinking they are eating and suck harder each time expecting it to give out food. if possible limit or remove the use of a soother at three months old. After three month of age it becomes a disgusting habbit and not a method to soothe a baby. Good luck and don't stress out too much
