Vergola Perfection
So happy with my wonderful Vergola! I wanted the best and this is what I got from Vergola. From the first phone call with Sue I knew that I had a professional company that were going to get the council permits, design my Vergola perfectly and then have it installed correctly. Jarrah installed the Vergola in 3 days and was so professional and hard working. Also Paul and Matt the electricians were excellent, putting in down lights & dimmer switch, and also an outdoor power point for my fairy lights. Thank you!

Brilliant Outcome
Just finished an install of a 35m2 Vergola. I do not often place reviews, but this time i am compelled to do so. From the very start through to the sign off today, the whole Vergola team, process and execution of the strategy was fantastic. Sue was fantastic, Mario supported her brilliantly in the design phase and culminated with the efficient professional and committed installation by Hayden and Steve. Both gents were great to deal with, courteous and diligent with the assembly and manufacture.
Without doubt i am happy to be used as a referral source for any potential Vergola client. We did consider other vendors, but every time we came back to Vergola.
We are so happy we engaged with Vergola
Well Done team

Best thing we've done in our backyard
From Sue the consultant through to Rob the installer Vergola were great. Wish we'd done this years ago, we've already had great use and our backroom is now bearable on the hottest days. The finish is excellent, the installation was only few days. Best money we've spent - we have an extra living area.

Worth every cent!
I had my Vergola installed to help protect my terrace from rain. As well as doing this, it has already proven to be invaluable with shielding the sun and the wind. My bedroom is cooler and I’m using the A/C less. A great investment and Chris Barter was very helpful guiding us along the way, explaining the steps and the payment. I would really recommend this company.

We just LOVE our Vergola
Chris from Vergola Melbourne was awesome and took care of everything. What an amazing difference it makes to our decking which used to not be overly pleasant to sit outside - as well as the lounge which used to heat up like an oven on hot days. And the price was incredibly better than another quote we got from a competitor. Very happy indeed. :-)

Should have installed it years ago.
Our expectations were high prior to the installation. The completed Vergola far exceeded those expectations. A huge thank you to Chris Barter from Vergola for his assistance and expertise. And a huge thank you to Jarrah who constructed / installed the Vergola in an organized and professional manner.

Vergola on back patio
We installed a Vergola on our North facing back patio. We wanted a roof that would not block the winter sun on our living area inside.
The Vergola is fantastic. It allows light into the house perfectly and shuts automatically when it rains, so our outdoor area always remains completely dry.
It really was a good investment.
I am hoping that Alexa will also be able to open and close the vergola roof soon too. Vergola have told me that the iPhone app will be out soon.

North facing upstairs deck
Our upstairs deck is north facing and so got the full sun in the heat of the day, installing a Vergola is perfect as we can close off the sun when we need to and open it up to let the sun in when we have a cooler day.
The approval process and the installation went as smooth as could be and the installer (Andy) did a great job.

December 2016 Vergola Construction Not really good enough. One Star or Less.
We had a Vergola constructed in our latest house situated in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane in December 2016 & despite the comments in other reviews this one lets in as much if not more rain that the one we had installed in a previous house in 1996 & that one didn't even have blade edge seals. We have had remote control problems, blades not synchronised in a two bank system where half the one bank would not close/seal, rusting support post where feature timber was not primed & painted prior to fitting & the latest problem where the actuator a...Read more
rm nylon bushings have crumbled & jambed & stopped the banks working. This first happened with one of the banks mid 2018 & the technician replace one bushing but did not have a second replacement bushing to replace the one in the other bank. We offered to fit the second bushing to save another service call as it was not a difficult operation but the part never arrived as promised despite two calls to the local Vergola dealer. The second bank failed three weeks ago & another phone call was made & despite being told again a busing would be put in the mail it still did not arrive. After more than a week of waiting for the part we fabricated a suitable teflon replacement & repaired the bank & then emailed the Vergola representative expressing our discontent with the situation but have still not heard back. There are more issues we could add but the above are the ones we have had most communication on and others are more primary construction quality issues. We would not chose to use Vergola again, very disappointed this time & do not expect the current installation to last as well as our previous Vergola that to our knowledge is still functional.Similar opinion? Vergola really lived up to its excellent reputation
I have recently used Vergola on two high profile jobs in the Adelaide Hills. My clients were very happy with the resulting very efficient system.
I was very impressed by the efficiency, honesty and cost effectiveness of the company. They took pride in their product, had excellent communication and were easy to deal with. I have no hesitation in recommending them to you.

Great product, excellent service
I couldn't be happier with my Vergola. The whole process was super smooth from pre-sales, contract and council approval through to installation and after-sales support. Had a slight issue with the stormwater pipe but they were quick to assess and remedy the situation with no fuss.

Very Impressed !
I have always loved the idea of a Vergola space and recently organized a visit from the S.A. branch. I couldn't be happier with the professional approach to my particular needs, on time for home visits, detailed explanation on all aspects of the job with creative new ideas suggested for me to think about. No pressure at any time, just service and support, thank you Vergola! maureen

Was good in its day
We spend plenty of time under our Vergola and it provides a good outdoor space. We don't use the function of opening the louvres and in fact I only open it a couple of times a year when I have to clean both sides of the louvre blades. We haven't replaced the plastic strips on each louvre edge so in anything over moderate rain the drops of water come through in between each blade and brings dirt/dust that was sitting on top, leaving little dirt spots when it dries. The plastic strips can stop this but they cost a bit to replace and only last a f...Read more
ew years. With other renovations under way we now realise that the original design wasn't ideal (too low, poor attachment to the house and no lights), and with rust appearing at the same end of every blade it looks like it's near end of life. Probably going with the new insulated structural panel roof system that has a weatherproof ceiling finish underneath and can be fitted with lights, speakers or fans anywhere in the ceiling. Time to move on.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Has some problems but the company is helpful
I have had a Vergola installed for about 8 years now. The clips holding the blades into position are weak and flimsy and I have had to pop rivet at least 10 blades and endcaps back into position. Now the quadrant gear that operates one half of the roof system has come loose but an easy fix.

When your vergola system packs up
Do you have one of the early model systems that used a battery and solar panel to operate it .If the battery is ok and the solar panel is working ok,(you do need a multi meter to check tho) what can you do.If you ring vergola for help you will be advised that the control unit you have is no longer available and you need a new control unit installed. However I was quoted a visit fee of $125 plus $1450 for the new controll unit plus the cost of an electrician to install a power point near the unit, who knows what that might cost lets say$400.Th...Read more
e cost was going to be around $2000.Seemed a bit much to me.The solution. I went to Jay Car electrnics and bought two Double throw double pole switches(CENTRE OFF) for $16 and rearranged the wiring and got both panals operating again.I was able to do this because I am a technician and could figure it out.Ok, so if your not technically minded you could ring an electrician and get a quote to rearrange the wiring and fit a double pole double throw switch or switches depending on how many panals you have. Its quite simple and wont cost anywhere near $2000.Similar opinion? Hi Manjula, I look after the Victorian branch. Given its been a few years since your dealings perhaps try again and ask to have someone come out to upgrade your system.

How do I close my Vergola whilst I am away for a long period of time?
1 answer
If it is a 240v non solar powered Vergola the control box should be plugged into a powerpoint all be this may be in the roof/ceiling space the best would be to put the vergola blades in the state you want them in & switch off the power.
Donna M.asked
I had the Vergola closed completely as it was raining. Rained all night, but some time during the night it opened itself - again. Had this happen a few times now. So this morning, still raining, it is wide open and the deck is completely wet?? How do I permanently disable the rain feature??
2 answers
It must have stopped raining at some point during the night & there was enough wind to dry the sensor so the roof opende the blades again. Normally this would close again with the rain but if big drops & sparse it often does not close very quick so you do get an amount of rain in. The only way I know how resolve this is to switch off at the power connection. Ours has a plug socket that is inside the soffit/roof overhang only accessible by removing a vent cover. I have considered having an external weatherproof switch fitted but have not done this yet. It would also be very beneficial in high wind storms as it is recommended that you "feather" the louvers in this situation, that is to put them in the vertical fully open state so you don't get wind pressure on the closed vergola. With the current system if there is any rain it will or should close negating any position you have set it in.
Sorry not an easier solution, the old system in our 1996 vergola closed the roof if it was left open & it rained & we had to re open if we wanted after the rain stopped. Although this did not resolve the storm/high wind issue I still think that was a much better option back then & an easily accessible switched powerpoint was all part of the standard installation, we did not have to ask for it it was just done. There is one other option & that is to disconnect at least one wire from the rain sensor & this will disable it completely, it is a low voltage control circuit so should be no risk associated with doing that just make sure the wire is moved away from the sensor board so no water can activate it.
Oh ! if you have a solar powered Vergola which I don't have I think the only option would be to disconnect the rain sensor as described.
