BEST CAR IN THE WORLD
I purchased my brand new golf in Nov 2016! It’s the best car I have ever driven! I’m so inlove with it. It got the extra pack where it has lane assist which stops you from driving outside the lines on the highway. It can reverse parallel park itself!!!! It has sensors all around the car so you literally can’t run into anything, even if you tried the car will stop. It has a very good reverse camera, apple car play is amazing as well because Siri will read out your text messages and you can reply back just by talking back to Siri. The only down s...Read more
ide to my golf is the colour! Don’t get white, i have to wash it once a week and for someone that did have a charcoal coloured car before hand and never had to wash it! It sucks I wish I got charcoal again but other than that it’s the best and very smooth to drive.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best car for the money
Choosing between the Honda Civic, Hyundai i30, Toyota Corolla and the Golf based on price, we opted for a pair of golfs - one hatch and one wagon, so that we had a little more room when taking the kids away. What a fantastic car - plenty of welly with the DSG 7 speed transmission and 1.4l turbo, with virtually no gear change time perceptible, although a small amount of turbo lag, which is to be expected. I've recently discovered the Sport mode, activated by shifting down from Drive, which adjusts the gear changes to speed things up a little. Th...Read more
e automatic gears, windscreen wipers, parking break and lights make this the easiest car to drive - I'm just worried that I'll forget how to drive a normal car. Fuel economy is fantastic - I regularly get 5.3-5.5l/100km on my commute, which is 80% on the M1 and 20% urban, and can get below 5.0 if there is no traffic. The screen is set into the dash, so looks much sleeker than the other options at this price point. Terrific car.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Wouldnt buy anything else.
There is a sense of quality with this car . Just something about how the door thuds/closes, the brakes are sound, all the plastics are in the right place, the acceleration is great They've got a customer for life in us I reckon. A step above all the competitors besides maybe the mazda 3 but still our fav over that one.

Useless Apple CarPlay
Bought a new 2017 VW Trendline last June. Have had difficulty connecting Apple CarPlay from day one. Often comes on but there is no sound. Often won’t connect at all. Car has been in four times for this problem. At first I was told the problem was with iPhone 5. Have subsequently changed to iPhone 7 but this hasn’t solved the problem. VW have advised that the IOS 11.1 is too high for the Apple CarPlay. How can they sell a car that is supposed to be compatible with Apple CarPlay when it doesn’t function properly? Isn’t this misleading and deceptive conduct and/or false advertising?

Awesome drive - amazing technology
I never thought I'd buy a Volkswagen until I saw an offer of 1.7% interest. I like to change my cars every couple of years because I travel around 35000 kms per year. I decided to buy the Golf because of the low interest rate and because I knew it would be under warranty for the duration that I have it. The engine is brilliant. The turbo 1.4L takes off quickly from the lights and is very fuel efficient. On a recent trip from Sydney to Port Macquarie I was able to travel up and back on a single tank of fuel. This was just over 800 kms which...Read more
was VERY IMPRESSIVE and I'm not a light foot when I drive either. Unfortunately I had an accident on the way up. I was in heavy traffic and a car drove into the back of me. The force of the hit pushed me forward however the autonomous emergency breaking stopped me from hitting the car in front of me. When you're hit in the back your foot comes off the break because of the force you're being hit with. The car is almost finished being repaired and we weren't hurt. Other technology includes radar cruise control with breaking and acceleration. It is a weird feeling to let the car accelerate and break for you when the cruise control is one especially when the car in front comes to a complete stop. The large touch screen is easy to use and has many many features including a performance mode which tells you the power you are using in kilowatts and how much g-force you are experiencing. The satellite navigation works well. I didn't realise how popular Golfs are. I'm loving this one, have had it for 4 months and have travelled 8000 km's.Similar opinion? Rented this car and have decided to buy one
Rented a VW golf TSI for 8 days and drove very long distances through South Australia. Great little car. Very fuel efficient, performed really well on the road. I don’t think I could fault it.Had great leg room, everything you needed was on the dash from Sat. Nav to all the little extras you need.
Performed really well on the open roads got it up to speeds of 150 Ks overtaking trucks. Had two heavy suitcases in there and two people and car did really well even with air-con. On the whole time.

I love my 92TSI Comfortline
The VW Golf 92TSI Comfortline is a brilliant car, it runs super smooth and quiet. The performance is really good, has a good kick when you need it and does wonderfully when braking. The interior is neat and tidy, with plenty of spots for storage. The infotainment system is fantastic, I can’t live without Apple CarPlay! The microphone is particularly good and picks up well what you’re saying easily. This is not the same for my Hyundai i30 which also has Apple CarPlay. The car is reliable, and is pretty cost effective. Costs between $60-9...Read more
0 to fill up depending on fuel pricing, of course it requires Premium fuel which is a fair bit more expensive per litre. I use 98, which generally provides 700-800kms. Fantastic! Cannot recommend this car more :DSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very happy so far...
We bought this car in December after much research and settled on a Treadline manual in white which I consider the value pick of the range. The car drives beautifully whether on country roads or the M1 and feels reassuringly safe and solid. Highlights for me are the fuel consumption (best so far was 4.2 L/per100), refinement, practicality and the auto hill hold assist (we live on a mountain) Also the clarity and font of the gauges and info panel are top notch.
Lowlights are nit picking but worthy of mention....the placement of CD player in th...Read more

Love my VW
I love my car!
I purchased the highline with extra rline & drivers assist package.
Brought my first golf last year in August 2017 & am so happy with my purchase.
I love how it’s comfortable to drive, nice leather interior & it’s so smooth on the roads.
My husband also loves it & drives it in the sports mode while I always like to drive it in the economic mode.
My favourite thing is that it’s small & roomy.
I think for the price it’s amazing with all the extra features. I really like the app play too as I do around 2 hours a day commuti...Read more

Perfect for city driving
Zippy second car with enough room to seat the family (2 + 2) comfortably and get around town. We added the Driver Assist pack (auto reverse parking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist) which we find really useful, particularly the adaptive cruise control in peak hour traffic. Love the media system with its large touch screen and apple carplay.

Great car for the price
Great of the mark from a standstill, fantastic fuel economy actually exceeds the quoted figure. Surprisingly roomy for a small car can fit medium sized adults in the back comfortably. Minor negatives no lumbar adjustment in seats and no where to put sunglasses. Cant complain for $24990 for base model.

A great zippy little car
The Volkswagen Golf is a great little car that's very responsive to handling and is quick to accelerate and brake when needed. The engine is fairly quiet and powerful for its size. The interior is well thought-out, with plenty of space for your things. However, I wish the buttons controlling the all the windows were located in the central panel rather than on the driver's side, and that the seat adjustments were operated with a lever rather than with a wheel. The car otherwise runs surprisingly far on a full tank and is fairly inexpensive to use.

Never have I been so impressed with a small car
Wow, that just about summarises my feeling of my new Golf 7.5 110TSI Comfortline!
I am big into safety and having selected the drivers assistance package ($1500 well spent) I can say this car is one of the best on the market for it. Not only does it have your standard nice to have features (blind spot montitoring, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking) it also has a technology called lane assist which blows my mind, it literally keeps the car within the lanes should you drift out.
This car also has plenty of performance and using only 5.4 litres per 100km of fuel it has saved me stupid amounts on fuel.
I could go on and on but there is simply to much to list! Suffice to say golf is the only car for me from here on out!

"New Golf" - epic car!
We have recently purchase the "new" golf and wow, why have we not purchased a VW before!!!?? This car drives like a treat, lots of gusto but pretty quiet and so easy to steer around. Feels like you're in a race car. The interior is first class and the large iPad like touch screen is very luxurious with lots of features and controls. The ability to personalise drivers in this car is fantastic and when you get in with your key the car just automatically adjusts everything to you. We've also fit a couple of carseats easily into the back which is fantastic. Will continue to recommend this car to others and am looking forward to a future VW purchase.

Incredible value for money
Quick, quiet, smooth, economical and drives like a car twice it's price. Quality build. Paint work is fantastic. Trendline has a few extras over the base model. Android auto works well. The car is roomy and the components feel like they will last. 7 speed DSG shifts smoothly and S mode provides a more spirited drive. Very happy with the car overall. I can't think of anything negative although it is early days.

My dream car
Pro: fuel economy-small engine with enough power, reverse camera with grid and sensors around the car, smooth and quiet
Con: expensive parts and accessories
I love driving this car. It's a complete different driving experience driving a golf than driving my previous Toyota Camry. I feel that I should have done this years ago.

Be careful
The car is fun to drive, goes quick but i have trouble with my gear box sticking.
The autohold has failed on me a handful of times but not as much as the hand break! That button is faulty, mind you all these problems i am listing both my sisters new golf and they have the same issues.
Reverse camera hardly every works same as apple car play messaging.
Car is very small and the windows drum when you have them down.. horrible noise!
Says it runs at 4 /100kms but more like 7 and no i am not a lead foot.
Good quality seats mind you airconditioning clips have fallen off.
Gets a big fat MEH from me.. already upgraded 10 months on..
More of a first girls car.

Fantastic Ride. Feels like a Passat!
Fantastic vehicle, picked up about 2 months ago now, done about 3.5k kms and not a fault! Car feels like it's from the class above, smooth ride and outstanding build quality. Also own a BMW 3 series, and the some materials outperform that! Super speedy car, very responsive, especially with DSG. Definitely think the trendline is the sweet spot. Did budget for highline, but do you really need it? Truly, love this golf, and think ill go VW for the 3 series replacement (arteon, anyone?)

Excellent Engine and Gearbox, All the Toys
I recently bought a new top of the range Golf Alltrack and with a couple of small quibbles I have to say it is an excellent car to drive. The performance and fuel economy are way, way better than I expected with 5+ litres per 100k easily achieved. The car isn`t cheap BUT is good value, everything works and works well, the interior finish is top of the class. The damned thing is smart too, parks itself, knows when you want to move off, so releases the brake, recognises that there is a car in front of you so matches their speed unless you want t...Read more
o overtake, the list of toys just goes on and on. Right the quibbles, the car has a stop / start system to temporarily switch off the engine in traffic to supposedly save fuel (unless the climate control is active, then the engine stays on) Independent reviewers state the system in fact saves almost no fuel and as there is a slight lump when the diesel restarts, I have switched this system off. Secondly, the car is all- wheel drive and with a deliberately raised chassis is perfect for off road (gravel etc NOT big rock country) If this is the case why have the manufacturers fitted a space saver spare?? There are masses of space in the rear so a full size tyre would have made almost no difference. This is really the only cheap and nasty thing about the car. Volkswagen should sort this out if it expects to be taken seriously and challenge the Subaru Outback, a car which I considered but rejected after taking into account the laughably short service intervals, half that of the VW and the cost of those services, which are capped for the VW. If the VW had held a full size spare wheel I would have given 5 stars with an easy heart as the rest of the set up is class all the way.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I have recently bought a VW golf 2018 TSI. I was wondering if leaving on the park lights for over an hour or even overnight would considerably drain the battery?

wondering if anyone else has had oil leak issues? I bought a brand new 110TDi wagon late last year took in for a service and the noticed an oil leak from the main seal, took it back to get that fixed and while they had the transmission out they noticed another oil leak this time from the gear box seal....both covered under warranty however they couldn't get a new seal for the gear box so have to replace the whole gearbox instead.
This is not my first golf and i have never had an issue before but am now concerned at what else my be wrong???
