Short lifespan
Extremely disappointed as our Waterco Supatuf (definitely not) 100 only lasted 4 years. Shaft seal must have failed early on. Definitely no corrosion protection on motor casing. We will never buy another Waterco pump.

Brand new pump leaked on first start. Warranty rejected by Waterco.
Bought Waterco 1hp Supersteam pool pump. Upon installation the pump was already leaking. Waterco rejected warranty claim as I have connected it to the plumbing myself. (All I did was literally attach it to existing inlets, fill it up with water and switch it on.) They argued that I am not a licensed plumber. I am qualified Mechanical Engineer. How much more skill do you need to screw on two in-out connectors? It was faulty before I even installed it. What a joke! Lame. Shame on you Waterco!
supatuf 100 warranty
Purchased this pump new with 2 year warranty. Approx 16 months Pump developed screeching noise while pumping water. Initially told would be fixed under warranty provided I paid $66 up front for labour. Then told by Waterco they wouldn't honour the warranty. Told me overheating was only covered externally (whatever that means)???...very poor...won't buy again.

Does what it says. Budget pump.
Pump has been working for 5 years. It does the job well. It has a loud and annoying sound. The price was low which is probably why the previous loser owners chose it.

Doesn't last, impellar and leaking in 1 year.
The pump cost me $450. As soon as it's installed, the pump is running with very loud noise. Waterco sent someone to check the pump. No fault was found and I got charged $80 for labour. But the noise is gone. After 1 year, same loud noise again, it started to leak and impellar loose. According to the Waterco warranty, the labour is not covered after 1 year, but the parts are covered for 3 years. So waterco quoted me $80 labour to get it repaired. This left me with a lot of questions. Did the first repair person fix something and told me...
Read more no fault was found, so he can charge me the $80 labour fee? If the impellar breaks down every year, is there a point keep paying $80 labour every year? In the end, I decided not to get it fixed by waterco under warranty. When the pump dies I will switch to a different brand. This pump is not designed to last.Questions & Answers
