Are you going to change the design if the ceramic top freestanding oven? It appears there are problems (faults) with the control panel heating up which can cause issues with the wiring. Also the large burner is at the back so large pots do not fit due to the forward overhang of the control panel. The large burner is better placed at the front where it is ergonomically safer and easier to use. I was going to purchase a Westinghouse but been put off now for thsee reasons. I'll be having to look at another brand unless you do something to improve the design. I'm sure you'd sell many more if you did!

hi, i have purchased a Westinghouse 54cm Glass top Electric Upright Cooker, and it has only been a week and used the glass cook top about 3 times this week and i found the glass is already marked/opaqued is that normal... it has lost it shine and i have only had it a week ???

Iuse steelo soap pads to give it good clean .Then when dry clean it with windex .
It still should be shiny, i wipe mine down with Hillmark Cerapol ceramic glass / cooktop cleaner. it is non scratch just make sure you read the label as one of the bottles is for the old type of elements (the old metal ones)
I ONLY use Cerapol to clean, & Ceraseal to finish it off to polish it off and bring it back to new. This is the ONLY product to use on those cooktops.

The top trim holding the inner removable glass panel on the oven door keeps coming loose, I have checked it, and cant see anything wrong, am I able to get a replacement for this part

The electrician installed our new upright electric Westinghouse oven today, but he did not set the correct time of day when it was switched on initially. Now we can't change the time of day at all - it simply makes a beeping noise when we press either the plus or minus buttons! Can you please tell me how I can reset my stove clock?

When using the WLE547WA, we've found that 3 of the 4 ceramic hot plates only go to the full blast/maximum setting (even if just on minimum setting on the dial) making them near useless unless one is boiling water. Anyone have any suggestions or any idea of servicing cost to fix, i.e is it a simple thermostat issue or an expensive fix.

Mine does the same .Love gas cookers because can control the settings .Electric a bit of adrag .
Have the same problem at times. When it happens i turn the hot plate off a turn it in again on the lowest setting and gradually turn it up to where you want it ( i use it for the simmer) then it is ok, do this to each of the hotplates one at a time. I have no idea about pricing for fixing it. Good luck with your searching xo

We had a Westinghouse WLE547WA fan forced installed yesterday. When I turn on hotplates they heat up normally but when you put a pot or pan on they turn off? Is this normal? Seems very strange

I suspect that these poorly manufactured ovens lack sufficient insulation to keep the control panel cool when the oven or grill is in operation. I am still using my 24 year old F & P dual free standing oven and it does not get hot around the control panel area at all. I was going to replace my aging oven with one of these free standing Westinghouse units but, reading these reviews has changed my mind. I really need to replace the old oven as an electrician has informed me that the wiring is old and corroded and could be dangerous.
Can anyone recommend a 'White'' freestanding oven and hob that is safe but does not cost over $2,000

i found that the oven worked as it should, the only compaint was the control panel getting hot, and we have learnt to live with it . the hot pate on it is ceramic (fully sealed) if was the coil elements i think would have better ventalation but ceramic is easier to clean.the heat build up is mainly when the grill is on.we dont grill much so if i had to get another oven i would probably get the same oven . hope this helps

Hi Dave I can't recommend another brand but my previous oven was a Westinghouse and had it for 13 years was absolutely fantastic so that's why I went with this brand .
My mum purchased an oven of the same brand but different model 3
years ago and it dies the same thing .Will just have to do your research Good Luck

Hi, is it normal operation when the WLE547WA ceramic hot plate get red and hot for 15 second approximately after turn off? Around 20 -30 second get hot and red again but only 15 second. I don't think this is correct. Thx. Regards: Peter

Can't say I've ever timed mine but assume it is just the thermostat operating to keep the hotplate at a more or less steady temperature.

Bought the WLE547WA two years ago and the oven has just stopped working. Does anyone know if it has a fuse or if it will cost heaps to repair???

Marie I had the same problem, the controls get too hot, causing the clock and buttons to melt inside the control panal. I've replaced the clock twice at my own expense. The oven won't work without the clock. Shame as the top and grill work perfectly. I have to throw it out into landfill now, it's only 4 years old.
