Is the supply for Stage 2 ok? I used the stage 1 and now move to Bellamy's as I'm so trauma with the poor supply (stage 1). If it's not a problem then I might go back again...

I have been buying this formula once a week for the past six months and only once have they been out of stock. I get it from either the chemist or supermarket, depending what is convenient at the time, and supply has always been plentiful except the one time mentioned above (the next store I went in had plenty of stock FYI).
My daughter has just turned one and we are currently moving from formula to cows milk- I've just started doing half/half in her bottles and there has been no issues so far.

Sounds good :) Thanks Sandra. So excited to finally see bub turns 1 and can grab anything. I will try to let my baby use Bellamy for a week to see whether he still struggling to poop... if so I will go.back to A2 again.

Wondering why the scoop amount is less then most other formulas

Not sure. I don't mind it though now that baby is on solids as sometimes you just want to make up a little bit to mix in with food.

Does it taste/ smell like fish?

1 answer
SandraD
SandraD

Not at all! I haven't tried many formulas but the ones I have tried have had very strong smells (they've had that gross cupboard milk smell) and just seem very thick and heavy. The a2 formula (stage 2- this is the only one I've tried) is very light and hardly smells at all- and definately not like fish! Even the taste is non-offensive.
Every baby is different but a2 is perfect for my baby and I highly recommend it.

A soft consistency is a good thing... as long as it's not too watery. This is a good guide: http://www.babycenter.com.au/baby-poo-photos

I have a 3 month old son who has been bottled fed from around 4 weeks. He is experiencing tummy pains and reflux and hasn't been able to hold much in his tummy, I am considering trying a2 because I've tried everything else and he is just very unsettled. Would like to know from anyone who has experienced the same and found good in a2 formula?

A2 is very sensitive on tiny tummies... if nothing else has settled him try it...see how it goes but let his tummy get use to it for about a week... :)

Hi my son is 6 weeks old and we have tried a few formulas trying to find the right one for him. We have tried nan pro gold and that made him very constipated and upset, heinz nurture is good but he is still very upset, and s26 made him very spewy. The midwife said to try A2 and i have read the reviews about it but every other brand has the same mixed reviews and its a bit confusing. Has anyone else had the same problems with the above brands and have found A2 solved these problems?

If your baby is lactose intolerant then a2 will not help, in fact no milk will help, best to move on to soy or something that does not have lactose in it.
No point in bagging a2 if your baby is lactose intolerant. A2 milk has never maintained that it solves that issue. swapping between formula's will not help either without giving it at least 2 weeks on a2 alone. If the baby is still reacting on a2 after this period of time then I would be certain that the baby is lactose intolerant. A simple blood test can verify that. 20% of people in the UK say they are lactose intolerant but only 5% actually are. The reaction is with the a1 protein not the lactose. A2 is a1 protein free.
Hope that explains some of the negative comment made against a2 that I have read.

You can purchase it in Coles or Woolworths.

You can't order it you can only buy it from normal retailers, we found the cheapest at Chemist warehouse, but at the moment stocks are low and we haven't found any stage 2 for 2 weeks.

Hi :)
My sons poos did change to a darker colour and smell a bit (because it's not breat milk) this is usually normal. If she keeps crying though before she poos for longer than two - three week (Settle in period) I would look at another one? Hope Iv helped:)

Can anyone help?!! I originally started with s26 gold for my baby. Then changed to bellamys organic due to constipation and upset tummy. She starting vomiting yellow and was told she may be allergic So changed to a2 platimun. I read very positive feed feedback. She is now not constipated but cannot actually do a poo on her own i always either have to put vaseline on the bum (instructed by my dr) or use drops. Her poo is normal colour and consistency. I really dont want to change and was hoping someone could tell me if the experienced the same.
