Pathetic service and refuse to refund me owed money!
Had ADT for security for about 3 years and it was ok. But then I cancelled the service, but they charged me for continued service. I eventually realised I'd been charged, asked them to remove all my details and obviously refund me my owed money. It's been about 3 months and 7 calls to remind them and I still haven't got the refund. Pathetic service overall and illegal in that they took money without my permission. Will continue to tell family n friends to not sign up with ADT and will be going to the Ombudsman.

is there anyway we can protect us? I want to quit the service and they send me a $423 for quitting.

Useless.
Alarm goes for no reason. Then takes 1.5 hours to attend call out. Contacted Customer service who blamed road laws for delay. Thought delay was acceptable

Never Use these guys to Instal your alarm
I had ADT install a home alarm system for me. on 2 March 2022, my alarm panel was beeping. I called their service team and they could not troubleshoot the issue. They booked a technician to attend to sort the issue out as one of the zones was not working. The technician was supposed to attend on 15/3/2022 between 12pm and 4pm. I took a day off on the day and waited I receive a call at 3.30pm stating the technician canceled as he fell ill and I was to receive a call from another technician shortly however I never received a call. Read more6pm and was informed that the technician would arrive at 7am on 16/3/2022. Now ADT has a policy that the first 30 minutes they charge $175 and after that, you will get charged by the minute. So this bloke, [Name Removed] arrives at 7am. He starts looking at the sensor and is attempting to yank it off the wall but could not do so, so he says he was not familiar with the sensor and had to take a photo of the sensor to ask his mate how to take it off the wall. He spends a few minutes on the phone and manages to take the sensor off. Then he goes to the panel and attempts to try and reset the panel as the zone was isolated but he could not figure out how to remove the isolation and asks me to do it. He has then called his 'boss' and spent 3-4 minutes on the phone trying to figure out how to remove the isolation. After that he has then tried to fix the issue and stated the issue was fixed and was about to leave. I called ADT monitoring and asked them to run the test and was informed they still could not read the zone as it was coming up as 'Tampered'. 30 minutes has passed and he still could not figure the issue. So I told him to leave as he did not know what he was doing. They then send another bloke out at 3pm on 16/3/2022 and he pushes some buttons on the panel changes battery of the affected sensor and stated it was fixed as he showed it to me on his phone as all 5 zones were able to be seen. I trusted him and allowed him I had to leave home and armed my alarm and when done was informed zone 5 was still not working. Absolute scammers
Falsly claimed we had renewed a contract. No evidence to support this. No signed papers, no recordings. Falsly Demanded two years cancellation fee.
Will be taking legal action.

If I could rate them a zero I would.
Talked into a security system that does not work properly and not ever wanting to help. I have tried multiple times to have it fixed and now they just ignore my requests. Very poor management. This company is the worst security company in Australia!
Lack of Communication - cannot talk to anyone
Web site indicates they have an office in Kewdale WA - Nope, you can't even go into their office to resolve issues!.
Try calling ADT phone number, after you get through the maze of automated prompts, and finally talk to a human some 45 minutes latter, explain the issue, they are all helpful and say they resolve the issue, they state they make notes on the file, but then nothing happens!!
So call again, same issues, get to a human, and their is no notes/resolutions on your file, they know nothing, so you are back to where you started from, aga...

Lack of communication
I paid ADT for personal medical alarm monitoring. ADT took over from the RAA about 18 months ago. Because my existing system used the 3g phone system which is about to be discontinued, they sent out a new system to be self installed under direction. When I rang up to self install the new system I was connected to someone who sounded as though they were speaking from Outer Mongolia or some far off place. Somebody suggested it was Malaysia where they believed ADT had a call centre. After some frustration in trying to communicate I broke off...
Read more the communication. I connected the system up and tried the call button but that did not work. This was on 16th December 2021. I wrote letters to ADT. That did not work. As at the 3rd of February I have not heard from them nor have they checked whether my alarm system was working or not. Their billing system is still sending me bills for a non existent service. Personal medical alarm systems are a life or death service. Once they have your money ADT could not care less about your safety.
I am having the same problems.I can't even cancel the contract as if cancelled everything will be discontinued
They are absolutely a ripper.

worst experience- don't recommend at all ever
I have been with ADT for 10 years (don't know why) for alarm monitoring. After 5 years at my premises, I wanted to end contract, which was long over no-cancellation period of 24 months. Upon calling for cancellation, they told me if I cancel, then the equipment is their property and I will have to pay them $480 or they will send technician to remove which will cost me $465. If I renew contract for 12 months, then I can retain equipment and cost me 12 month rental as such. It was never informed to me when I signed- only was informed that after 24 months, I can cancel. So I was forced to say yes to 12 mth renewal. When I received contract, the contract has no mention of that understanding. Its a faceless organisation. Stay away

Worst Company Ever - Biggest Rip Off!
If only I never signed up with them, Firstly they come out making you think its so cheap, but any problems, or technicians having to come out they charge you a bloody arm and a leg, I had a tech come out to check out a few things that weren't working,. charged me $500 not even telling me I would be charged.
Anyway I paid out my paid monitoring, and NOW I CANT USE THE alarm and camera because I'm not paying them for the monitoring, its crap!! such a rip off, pretty much you either pay them the monitoring fee or else you cant use your alarm and camera and monitor yourself. you may as well just buy an alarm from EBAY and install it yourself and use it. this place is a SCAM!!!

They are there just there to fork money out of customers. Absolutely ridiculous service do yourself a favour and don't waste your money you are better off getting a security system from amazon or eBay and installing it yourself. They want to charge me 170 plus every 30 mins for technician to come and install a new camera when i already have the one given to me initially. Was not advised this is what will need to pay.

Worst customer service ever!! Completely incompetent.
None of their departments communicate with each other (sales, accounts, service), so no accountability. The customer is expected to chase up issues and problems but nothing is ever done to rectify anything. Most of the time they put you on hold and you eventually get cut off. All you get is more invoices, totally corrupt! I am tempted to pay out my contract so I know longer have to deal with such incompetencies not to mention the stress and time wasted.
Worst customer service and communication ever!
Cancelled our business account (3 locations) due to the ongoing communication and customer service issues that are never recified as no-one you speak to takes responsiblity or is there to follow up with which I am sure is due to a high staff turnover given they way the company is run. Still receive invoice reminders, which we follow up and are told "no problem we will get that sorted" which is never is. The biggest waste of time

Why on earth you are charging a customer that had been with you for 3 years to collect your damn stupid equipment at his home!!!
I don't care who you are, but when you treated a customer that had been with you for years and gets more money from him when he no longer needs the service, for me that is the most stupid thing I ever heard. I don't care take your bloody equipment with you!!!

I have an old ADT security system. The alarm near my front door beeps on and off regularly for no apparent reason. I want to disengage this unit. I am a pensioner on disability and can't afford to get someone in so can someone please tell me how I can permanently turn it off.

Does anyone else think its odd that the majority of the (26) 5 Star reviews for ADT are from " customers" that have had the system for years....I mean, who looks for a product review site and then writes a positive review for a company after 2, 3 or even 5 years? I can understand someone writing a positive review just after installation, but 5 years later....hmmm
