Dangerous... Please don't buy it!!
Orange (Small Cat)Yesterday I bought it! Few hours after applying this product over the skin, the cat can't walk well. It was disorientated. She had no strength in her legs. Very dangerous! This product potentially can kill a cat.
Now is better..

Orange (Small Cat)I have been using this product for the last 6 months on my cat and she has been getting a progressively worse bald spot on her back, last dose was given less than 3 weeks ago and have noticed she has worms yet again! This product is not cheap and is not affective, and causes reactions!

Puuuurfect product
Orange (Small Cat)I was an avid user of Bayer advantage for my two adult cats. It was a great product until I discovered Bayer advocate. This product kills fleas and larvae 98-100% in 12 hours. It also does heart worm prevention, gastrointestinal worms, round worm, hook worm and ear mites. It is a little more expensive but my cats are super happy.

Best product for my cat.
Orange (Small Cat)The vet put me onto Advocate for my big girl. I took on an older cat who was in need of a home and I wanted to ensure that she have the best treatment and to make sure that no fleas or parasites were let loose in the house. The cat does not like the initial application but is over it in no time with no adverse reactions. For me it is quick and easy and I don't suffer any claw marks. I have read other reviews and it is scary that there can be serious effects. I guess it is an individual thing and while it works and provides protection for my cat I will continue using it.
Easy to apply and while not inexpensive it covers the parasites that can affect health
No worms so I guess it works!
Orange (Small Cat)I usually use a different product for worming my cats but needed to change the timing of tablets for when we will be away. I'm not a huge fan of the liquid treatments as I find it tends to run a little bit and my babies just want to lick it (even though I make sure it's right behind their head). They've never had any bad reactions to it. I'm not a fan of the smell, but as an occasional treatment in between their regular tablets it's not too bad.
Easy to use

Safe and effective on my cats
Orange (Small Cat)I switched to Advocate after my eldest cat experienced adverse reactions to Revolution (balding on the treatment area) and I have been using Advocate on my cats for about 5 years now. It works to keep fleas and parasites off my cats but the cats detest the smell! Every time I go to spot treat them, they try to run away when they realise its that time of the month again. I have checked for any skin reactions or side effects that may be causing them to flee and there are none that I can see (cats act completely normal a few minutes after applicat

Animals are just like humans - everyone will react differently to drugs and medicine. What may work for one person/animal, may have a mildly negative to disastrous side effect. I would like to use a more natural product (that is also effective) but until such a product exists (maybe there is one which I don't know about!), and as my cats have only had positive experiences with Advocate, I will continue to use it. Product does it what it claims Smell, but don't expect an insecticide to smell good!Potentially Dangerous To Cats
Orange (Small Cat)I had exactly the same experience as cat thing today (earlier review). Treated my cat in month one with Advocate and noticed she seemed abit woozy but didn't really think much of it. A month later applied again as directed and exact symptoms as those described by catthing. Woozy cat, disoriented, no eating and no drinking. Rushed to Vet who admitted her - end result we had to allow her to be out down as serious water in lungs. Dangerous Product - will never touch again. Why take the risk?
Killed my Cat

Orange (Small Cat)I have 17 cats one girl came to me with a very severe case of ear mites of course meant all had mites to some degree. Have been treating with double doses (2 a month) and still not killing off all the mites. I fear to kill the mites will be to kill the cat with this product, as I would need to maybe use 1 per week
have also tried Ivermetin and selemectin (revloutions ) with also no cure. all I can hope for is a minor control ?
The treatments are breaking me and your statment is untrue- we have also sprayed all the cat rooms, trees, furnitur

Do Not Use!!!!
Orange (Small Cat)hello, my name is Andy and my cat is called Tesla.
i had taken my cat to the vet and he gave her a clean bill of health,
did a blood test and said she was very healthy with a beautiful coat.
she didnt have fleas and is a house cat but he told us to put on advocate anyway.
with in 1 day she began to act odd, staring into space and not eating, she just slept alot, 2-3 days after she appeared to recover but was still odd.just after a week she started to get ill so we rushed her back to the vet and were told she had kidney failure, and he could
I have certainly lost 1 beloved Cat to Advocate because every owner has the potential to make the same error I did. Advocate (Bayer), or Advance in USA, fail to advertise satisfactorily on packaging,

So the tapeworms were left to continuously ravage my cat's internal organs until progressed to kidney disease. I remember actually seeing a rice shaped larvae (tapeworm) in her poop. Vet asked if I'd wormed her, I said "Yes, with a spot-on. The one that does fleas as well". No Vet picked it up. I only realised later, the trap I'd fallen into by Advocate's shrewd evasion of not providing clearly, that it does NOT treat Tapeworm & is NOT an All-Wormer. Look for All-Wormers only & treat Fleas separate is my suggestion. I have also given another 4 cats Advocate & they have developed Kidney disease because they either licked it off themselves or licked each other as they often do, being brothers. They developed 'hot-spots' (bald) from licking & ingested it.Correction, Advocate is called Advantage Multi in USA & many other countries. Not Advance. (Mistaken name)

One of our old girls has gotten a second life from this product!
Orange (Small Cat)We had such a huge result with our german shepherd and decided to try it on the cats. The decision was twofold - 1) I saw such a remarkable outcome for the dog I thought I'd try it and 2) to stop the fleas that might have been irritating the dog. We have 2 cats, a pedigree and a moggy and moggy was looking every 1 of her 15yrs. Since the first application we have seen a remarkable turn around in the older cat - increased appetite, coat is shiny, brighter eyes, more spritely. We believe she has added about another 5yrs to her life now as a resul
... Read moret. I do not apply every month but about every 2nd to 3rd month so the product last longer and it does not appear to make a difference to the animal. Treats many parasitic infestations at once Smelly, can remove nail polish, stays on coat for a whileExcellent
Orange (Small Cat)Agree with other comments that this product is excellent, works really fast, easy to use, none of my cats have ever been bothered by it and it knocks fleas and worms out in one hit.
Takes care of fleas and worms in one hit, what more could you want!
Doesn't take care of tapeworm but it's easy to buy a tapeworming product every few months.

Great product
Orange (Small Cat)I have always used Advocate on my cat (partly outdoor) and he's been very healthy, no fleas or worms whatsoever. Very convenient to use. I think Advocate would work best when used to prevent fleas. If your cat already has flea problems like one of the reviewers mentioned, Advocate probably isn't strong enough and more drastic methods need to be used, like strong flea control shampoo or even shaving.
Advocate can be a bit expensive if you buy from the vet or pet shops. I find the cheapest way is to buy on eBay. You can often get a 6-pack for cats under 4kg for less than $60, free postage.
Reliable, convenient
does NOT control fleas
Orange (Small Cat)Indoor cats...... first 2 cats never had fleas before, new kitten with some fleas, had to use 4 doses in 4 weeks, still not working. Very angry and $130 out of pocket :-(

It can even knock off an infestation though with a very bad infestation it did require the vets cleaning out the cats ears and antibiotics for the infection they had caused. That level of infestation had occurred in a cat that had been say for over a year before being properly adopted & made an indoor cat. For some reason it doesn't seem to have a sufficient continuity of the month promised for flea protection for the cats going outdoors for a time and the inside cat who mixes with them.By 3 weeks cats are scratching again and one is already doing flea dirt. My other indoor group who are mostly in flea bombed areas, don't mix with the other group, were treated with advocate for suspected earmites stayed free of fleas until 5 weeks. All other flea only drops seem to be more effective and longer lasting, even going beyond their promised month for fleas in average circumstances. No good flea treatment seems to work in one dose for any feline with a severe flea infestation, like a stray, or cat who finds a flea infested spot on his wanderings and is a magnet for them and mites prone to dermatitis from scratching or unrecognised established infestation of a very furry greasy coated main coon prior to clipping his fur. I have fond Capstar an excellent more economical adjunct to a single lasting flea drop treatments. Plus the speed it has in killing fleas until the other treatment would work are stopping the dermatitis prone cat causing damage to the skin-needing vet treatments if enough damage- while the drops take their time to work. Thanks for your help. Purchased advantage from my vet and now I have no problems with fleas.
Excellent
Orange (Small Cat)I LOVE this product - it is my saviour. My kitty, like many cats, is extremely difficult to medicate with tablets and pastes. This product is so easy to use and I love that it combines both the worming and flee treatments in one easy to use spot-on product. I haven't seen a flea on her and there appears to be no side effects. The convenience of this product is worth the bit more money it seems to cost.
-Easy use-Relatively well priced
-Nil so far
Excellent
Orange (Small Cat)I use this product on my three cats and love that it does fleas, heartworms AND intestinal worms. One of my cats freaks out when I have to give him worming tablets, so having this dosage in a spot on treatment makes things a lot easier. I usually only treat my cats every couple of months, and have never had fleas, so it works really well. It is expensive to buy from vets or pet shops, but you can pick it up pretty cheaply online i you look around.
Easy to use once a month spot on. Really does work!
It is expensive
Excellent
Orange (Small Cat)I always use advocate on my pets, it's an easy to use application, and last for months! My pets have never had fleas etc and we've always used this product. The only thing I would suggest though is to buy it from an online store or even better ebay!! Its' soooo much cheaper than IRL pet stores and exactly the same product. It's good not having to try and feed your pets tablets, as mine put up such a fight! Definitely recommend this product.
Really easy to apply, only need one treatment for fleas and ticks
Expensive from pet stores
Excellent
Orange (Small Cat)This allwormer is really easy to apply. It works really well to repel fleas, ticks and intestinal bugs. It was recommended to me by a vet so I am really pleased to know it is used by the professionals ! Im also glad I don't have to fight the cat to give her tablets !
Easy to use
