One of our old girls has gotten a second life from this product!
We had such a huge result with our german shepherd and decided to try it on the cats. The decision was twofold - 1) I saw such a remarkable outcome for the dog I thought I'd try it and 2) to stop the fleas that might have been irritating the dog. We have 2 cats, a pedigree and a moggy and moggy was looking every 1 of her 15yrs. Since the first application we have seen a remarkable turn around in the older cat - increased appetite, coat is shiny, brighter eyes, more spritely. We believe she has added about another 5yrs to her life now as a resul...
Read moret. I do not apply every month but about every 2nd to 3rd month so the product last longer and it does not appear to make a difference to the animal. Treats many parasitic infestations at once Smelly, can remove nail polish, stays on coat for a while- PetCat
My 9 month old kitten was poisoned by this! I didn't even give him a full dose, he is 2.5kg. do not use this product. Within a day of using it he was lethargic, couldn't walk, not eating or using the litter.

Advocate Kitten = Not safe for kittens
First things first, I'm a cat owner, I know where and how to apply this product and it seriously ticks me off that when I called the customer care line (on box 1800 678 368) the company didn't take my concern to heart and instead I was lectured about application, "you didn't apply the product properly". Insulting and patronizing.
Facts:
Adopted a RSPCA kitten through petbarn/RSPCA adopt-a-pet program. In the petbarn adoption starter kitten pack I received it had a bunch of kitten sample packs including one month revolution kitten and one month Advocate kitten (& small cats up to 4kg).
Used revolution first, no issue.

Was given this product from the Vet & bought it also from Woolworths as I have four cats. It is an expensive worthless product. Made no difference, fleas are still visible after 2 months. Don't bother with this product.

Trying to do my best by my new Kitten and giving him a trusted brand.
Poor wee thing spewed his ring out.
I thought it was the "user" i.e. me.. but after reading the rest of these reviews, my mindset changed.
Never again.

my 3 month old kitten hasn’t reacted badly at all. was hesitant due to the lack of good reviews however i followed the instructions and no fleas to be seen! i did also purchase a flea brush as she had quite a few when she came home, and i brushed out a lot after the treatment. woke up the next day and gave her a brush with the flea brush, no fleas. no scratching, but i’ve been finding dead fleas on her bed.. gross! but so worth it.

Advocate was recommended to me by my vet.
I applied the medication exactly as the directions prescribed - at the back of the neck.
A few weeks later my cat developed a twitch.
So I spoke to another vet and he prescribed neurontin and recommended the cessation of the flea treatment.
A few months on and she is having full blown epileptic fits.
Please do yourself a favour and check out natural flea treatments like bicarbonate soda and salt. This dries out the fleas, eggs and larvae of the fleas and won't harm your fur baby.
Wish I had known this when I was so desperately trying to rid her of fleas.

Kyle is an indoor Maine Coon, who's 4.5 months old and hadn't had any treatment up to this point. Kyle has severe heart murmurs so we try not to do anything that stresses him out, this was advised by his vet, same vet who advised me to administer Advocate (0.4) - Biggest mistake of my life!!!
Applied it correctly while he was sleeping assumed he would continue sleeping.
(Note: Kyle is a "lapcat" and sits on the sofa for 22h a day; his idea of being active is staring at the cars out the window)
2 mins in: Kyle starts scratching his neck with his foot and then licks his paw!!
5 mins in: Kyles pupils are dilated to the size of a marble they have lost their shape and his iris is almost not visible anymore.

I had bought this product for my very young kitten. I was sceptical because of the reviews and was worried that my kitten would react but when I gave it to her at 9.5 weeks she didn't react. She was fine with the treatment. I used it as directed and placed it on the back of her neck and then didn't touch the area. I'd use the product again. Every cat is different. A friend's cat used to react to it so not all cats are going to like it but my new kitten was okay with it.

I apply the treatment every month as advised on the back of the neck on my two indoor/outdoor cats and I have never seen a flea or any of them scratch. Taking one star off because the smell is very strong and my cats get annoyed for a few hours after application because of it. Apart from that, it's a great flea and multi worm treatment.

Vet advised me to try product for fleas, put it on back of neck last night, came home today from work and cat was walking sideways, on back legs, falling, very unstable on feet, she has no illnesses at all and is 5 years old. Vet was closed, I rang a City after hours vet who advised me to bath her, which I did ..This may not happen with every cat but did with mine

Our cat has never been fond of this product and runs when he sees it coming. We’ve been using it for 5 months now. I applied it two days ago and today we’ve found the area of application with no hair, and his skin is blistered.
