Had one, lost it in a Tornado
Gardenline 20V Cordless Line Trimmer (Jan 2017, Oct 2017, Oct 2018, Oct 2022)My wife and I bought our grass trimmer/weed eater at our local ALDIs store in Farmington, MO in 2022. We enjoyed using it on our 1.5 acre property during the 2.5 years we had it. What ended it was a Tornado that struck our area and totally destroyed it, along with a number of other lawn utilities.
We have been looking for a replacement of the same make since then with no luck, so I'm guessing we will have to go online and try to find the manufacturers website, if they have one, and order a new one.
We miss it because ot was so easy and light to use for my wife primarily and we had very little issue with its use. Now we just need to find either the manufacturers website, or email address.
Light device - OK for light use
Gardenline 20V Cordless Line Trimmer (Jan 2017, Oct 2017, Oct 2018, Oct 2022)Recently bought this line trimmer with the hope I could move away from my petrol units.
I have used it a few times, but not enough to have to refill the line.
Positives:
Light; Quiet; easy start/stop [no need to pull starter cord]; easy to store; easy to charge without need to store petrol.
Negatives:
Overall a bit short from me - i felt i had to almost stand immediately onto of the weeds to cut them (I'm ~ 179 cm tall).
I felt it struggled when dealing with tall or thick grass.
Struggled when dealing with thick ground coverings - didn't provide a clean edge.
May become a bit expensive when factoring a charger & battery (say extra $50-80)
... Read more In conclusion This may be suitable if you only have a very small yard; yet for the perceived convenience you may be better to use hedge cutters or getting a corded unit.
Questions & Answers
where to get part for gardenline wiper sniper
My gardenline 20v snipper is wearing out at the point of the tap to feed line. Spring is visible and may protrude . Can any spool replacement be obtained? 5 year warranty not expired.
Ebay has a brilliant head using an allen key to secure the 1 or 2 cord peices you choose to use.
ONLY glitch is you need to have a left hand thread bolt to fit the new head with, which in most cases came with the original purchase. I can use 3mm+ cord which lasts the whole yard :-)
I melted plastic over the bump knobs and hand pull line out as required. The spring is held in place by the mend. So far so good. Thanks
