ANZ Travel Card Questions & Answers (page 2 of 2)
Are you able to transfer money from your back account through internet banking straight onto this card?
Yes you can bpay it takes a couple of days for transfer to be completed. A word or warning our last canada and usa trip cards were not good after one week card 1 was locked due to fraud . After two weeks card two continually failed to dispense any cash.
As Pat has indicated, yes you can.
So what about the Qantas cash card. We are going to Canada and America. Reading up they all sound dreadful
BPAY - it takes upto 3 working days to complete the transaction
I have been trying to use my ANZ travel card in Ecuador and have been to 7 different banks(all with Visa sign and can not get money out of any of them. Phoned ANZ customer help who had no idea what, if anything was wrong, maybe that the card didn't work in Ecuador. Checked balance with them and online and no issues. Was working in Chile and Peru. Anyone had similar problem and solved it. Would appreciate any help!
I've never had an ANZ Travelcard rejected by an ATM with a Visa logo, but then again, I've never taken it to Equador. Were the 7 banks in Quito or further out? It'd be interesting to know whether other cards also failed in Equador because this is really a Visa issue, not an ANZ problem. As most of the international money cards operate on the Visa or Mastercard networks, ATM access then becomes either a Visa or Mastercard matter so ANZ would be in no position to help you with this.
Did you guys have any luck with Scotia Bank in Peru? I've tried BCP and another major one with no luck. Which ones for Chile as I tried using it like a credit card with no success. Help please!
I used the ANZ Travel Card in Ecuador in 2014 with no problems. When withdrawing money from a visa logo ATM you must select CREDIT for the type of account.
If I reload the travel card with my credit card to I get charged a cash advance fee for this? I've got the option to charge with my credit card but Anz didn't mention anything about it. I'm overseas and they won't respond :(
Sorry I can't answer your question as we didn't do what you are trying to do. We reloaded our card in Australia but it took days for the money to appear on it, and when it finally did appear we were already overseas and the money had been converted to the wrong currency. If you can avoid reloading your travel card, avoid it, as your money will go into limbo for days, you'll be charged excessive fees and get stuffed around.
If you use your ANZ cc, its classed as a purchase. Would have to check with your bank re other banks cc. Mind you you need to pay off cc every month not to be charged cc interest rate. So can essentially get a interest free loan, until monthly payment due.
Has anyone used the anz travel card in the USA? If so can I get some feedback?
I used it for a couple of minor purchases at JFK airport and LAX. No problems. However, if you lose this card, you are in big trouble. Anyone can use it as they dont require a pin number. It is just swipe and go. That suprised me and frightened me a little. If you lose it...goodbye money. I also lost a lot of money in the exchange when I came home and put the money I didnt spend back into my savings account...nearly $100.
It was widely accepted in California. As soon as they see Visa, nearly everyone accepted the card and only had a couple of instances where it was rejected by the card reading machine. Had to produce ID for some of the purchases.
I didn't have any problem using it in Hawaii from ATMs, purchasing items or paying for restaurants. It does take a few days to reload so just make sure you have enough money on it or plan ahead if you are running out of money!!
I have used this card twice in Greece.
No issue getting money out ONLY if the money is already in there.
SHOCKING AMOUNT OF FEES: Im angry about the non disclosures or ( sneaky) fees, and fees and more fees. AND ITS MY OWN MONEY THANKS.
DONT EXPECT YOUR OWN DEPOSITED MONEY TO SHOW - MORE ANGRY: When you top up your card using BPAY, don't expect to see any deposit for at least a week! They hang on to it.
I would never ever use this card again. Its really a rip-off, and not efficient.
