How do i discontinue my card?

When we returned back to AUS after all the difficulties with the ANZ travel card we transferred our USD back into AUS via manage your money on travel card website. We then went into an ANZ branch and cancelled the cards and the balance was then deposited back into our saving account.

Does anyone know how to use the Travel Card for online purchases in the US? It keeps asking for a name on the card but then declines it.
1 answer
If you are using an ANZ travel card it will not allow you to do online transactions. I've done quite an in depth review with our experience with the ANZ travel card, I had attempted to do an online purchase and it kept refusing, these cards are very unreliable.

I transferred all my Australian Monday from my normal ANZ debit card onto my ANZ travel card. If I still have pounds left over in my account, can I transfer that back to my Australian debit card?
1 answer
Hi Grace, I think it best to call ANZ Travel Card support. Logically, the funds would be transferred back into Australian dollars - exchange rate. Getting it out of your travel card and into your normal debit card is another story. Personally I don't keep much money on the travel card in case I loose it or it is compromised.

I have recently got an anz travel card but I have only been able to get into the online account once, when ever I try to log in it comes up with ‘the specified URL can not be found’. I have also tried the sms route to get my balance but that doesn’t seem to work either! I am getting very concerned that I am unable to access this money at all when my trip is coming up, is there another way of accessing it or will I simply have to go back to the bank and hope they can sort it out?

I need to return a product for a refund. The shop only returns funds back in the same card which was my Anz travel card. Is this possible to transfer funds back on the card?

hi, the branch is keen to issue these travel cards but are hopeless and know nothing about them so you have to go to the travel card department there number is shown on the card, but even they are hopeless, thats one of the reasons i recommend you just use your normal visa debit card, with a travel card you can be up for converting the currency charges and fees 3 times, and if you have money left on the card and want to claim it back there is another nightmare, if you lose the card that is another nightmare, if you forget your pin another nightmare, if you leave some money on the card and it expires another nightmare and eventually that amount will be given to the Government, visa debit card probably has a much higher acceptance throughout the world the conversion rate will be slighly higher but your not paying possibly 3 conversion rates and charges.
Hi, before February 2018 a retailer was able to refund to the travel card the payment was made from. Yes, there will probably be a currency conversion charge unless it is refunded in one of the currencies on your card.
Thank you. I managed to get a refund

Does anyone know how to use the Travel Card for online purchases in the US? Ie buying tickets etc? They ask for a billing address and post code and it has to be US based. Is there a way around this??

Hi, not sure as we found many places weren’t familiar with a travel card, and some refused to allow us to use it- eg car hire places that require a significant deposit to cover potential damages. Also found in europe many cheap phone sims would only work if you registered a residence in the country you bought it fromfor secirity reaons, so we wasted a lot of time and money trying to get our uk bought phone sim to roam in europe...wouldve been better just buying a travel sim from australia...but this may mean other services or businesses require proof of address for security purposes. Seems to be related to terrorist policies.
It will probably vary from business to business, don’t expect to be able to use your travel card for every holiday purchase, we were caught by surprise how difficult it was. It potentially saved us some money in overseas fees you get slugged on a normal account but was not as universal as we would have liked and the three business day turn around to access deposited money was our biggest pain as serviced apartments take a bond and if you add weekends and public hols to the ability to access your money it can be five or more days later...by which time you may no longer be in the country. Had we known we may have managed things differently.

I registered my ANZ travel card on line and set up my log in requirements, but now I cannot log in to check my balance etc. It keeps giving me a notice that says "Account status is not active"? I don't know what to do and I'm overseas so calling them would be difficult. My card still works, but I'd like to get on line to check the balance and make a money transfer to the card if need be?

Hi, new to this but here it goes... I have an ANZ travel card and I am based in The Netherlands and so far its been good. I only have it in Euros.
Ive decided to pay Dubai a visit and somehow it works fine here too. question is, would anyone know if its charging me some extra fee for me to use it here in Dubai? seems too easy and I'm sure there is a catch! Thanks
1 answer
I used the ANZ travel card in Dubai with no problems. The retailers are smart and ask what currency you want to pay in. I paid in US dollars. The only cost was the currency conversion when loading/transferring US$ from my home currency.

Can you use both at cards once for different users?
The are both currently active. Thanks
1 answer
Yes, my spouse and I each kept a card in our wallets and used them separately. I don't think this is officially sanctioned, as the cards were both in my name, but it works ok.

Anyone know why my pin won't work? I can swipe with my card but that's it.

Do you have the ANZ travel card multicurrency pocket guide? You should call customer service on 1800 094 003 ( 24 / 7 ) if overseas call reverse charges on +61 3 9683 7777. The first thing you need to do after receiving the travel card ( 1 and 2- backup ) is to log into the self service portal and set a new pin. If you have difficulties with this you should do it at the nearest ANZ branch. I hope I cleared things up a little bit for you. Take care, and enjoy your travels :)

Which card should take for NZD ?
2 answers
I would put NZ$ on the card. I had US$ on mine since I was going to the US. But after my experience I would not be using an ANZ Travel Card. My daughter had a problem with her ANZ Travel Card in Hawaii since it took over a week to load money from her Suncorp account to the ANZ Travel card. (Suncorp had moved the money but it did not appear on the card until the trip was over. ) She has since used one from Heritage Bank and apparently it worked well. I would definitely have a backup in the form of a Visa card.
When you use your card the currency conversion will be done automatically. If the euro is increasing in value, then you will get a better exchange rate.

why is there not a list of whcih countries are ok to use this card? Today I went to anz in Brimank, Melbourne and was told no good in Cambodia, yet most banks there have visa logos on their atms.....it would obviously be dangerous to trust this card without a list of cooperating countries!
1 answer
That surprises me - the card should work at any ATM in the world with a Visa logo. I think the ANZ person might have misunderstood the question and thought you were asking if Cambodian currency could be loaded into it. I would expect an ANZ Travelcard loaded with $A or $US would work in Cambodia.

Are you able to transfer money from your back account through internet banking straight onto this card?

Yes you can bpay it takes a couple of days for transfer to be completed. A word or warning our last canada and usa trip cards were not good after one week card 1 was locked due to fraud . After two weeks card two continually failed to dispense any cash.
As Pat has indicated, yes you can.
So what about the Qantas cash card. We are going to Canada and America. Reading up they all sound dreadful
