Prefect for my little one
I quickly discovered my little one had a slight dairy intolerance, wasn’t confirmed whether it was lactose or cows milk protein. I started he on this formula at 12 months once I had finished breastfeeding and she took to it immediately. I found the product readily available from supermarkets and chemists and it was reasonably priced in comparison to other formulas.

The only formula my toddler could keep down
The formula is easy to prepare, directions are easy but the little scoop is annoying when you need so many scoops a bottle. After trying other formals and other lactose free ones, this one was the only one my son could keep down, with out vomiting it all back up again or squirting it back out the other end! Highly recommend.

Our son has never been happier!
This formula helped us out so much. When we found out our son was lactose intolerant we switched to this from breastfeeding and he immediately stopped spewing. We purchased it each week for $19 He never once turned his nose up at the flavour.
Which was so cheap in comparison to other formulas. I would recommend this formula 100%.

Perfect for my baby
Before trying this one, I gave a few others a try to see how she reacted (as i was well aware from advice given to me that every child will react differently to different formulas so best thing to do is trial and error) and this is the only lactose free formula she liked instantly. For example I tried the Naan lactose free and she hated it and I won't forget her vomit. It was so thick and goo like. After going on this formula never ever had an issue with feeding or any bad poops. Poor thing suffered from bad acid reflux and the lactose from my ...Read more
breast milk and normal formula I was using as well (was using Bellamy's Organic which is a great formula not right for my baby) was burning her bum because of the intolerance she had from the lactose. After she turns 12 months, my doctor has advised she will start being weaned off lactose free and slowly introducing regular cow's milk. Like I said every child is different so all i can say is if others haven't had a good effect on your child, it's well worth trying this one and hopefully bubs will be happy and eating well. Totally happy with this formula, so thank you Aptamil. Oh and also, I wasn't told by the pediatrician that with lactose free formula i but 5 tins for such a cheap price with a doctor's prescription as it's covered by Medicare until i saw my family doctor months later! And just recently was told by the chemist i can receive further discount as i am a single parent! So please first check with doctor and what you're entitled to!Similar opinion? Suits lactose intolerant baby well
I have used this formula for my lactose intolerant baby since he was 4 weeks old. I managed to combine breastfeeding and formula feeding with this formula for six months, before he went completely over to formula from six months onwards. Even my breastmilk upset his tummy so I had to give my baby half a crushed lacteeze tablet before a breast feed to ease his symptoms, but I found that when he had bottles of this formula, he never had any tummy upsets. He's never had a problem with constipation on this formula and took it straight away. It mixes well in the bottle. I purchase this formula from Chemist Warehouse, as it's the best price I can find in my area.

Life saver!
Before finding Aptamil Delact, my baby tried a couple of other formula brands and the poor thing was so miserable. All I could hear was his tiny tummy rumbling all the time with gas, poor thing. Once I switched him to Aptamil Delact as suggested by his pediatrician, wow! he became such a happy & smiley baby, no more rumbling tummy. Thanks so much Aptamil!

Great for post-gastro baby
Needed to use this after baby got post-gastro lactose intolerance. Easy to prepare formula but a bit confusing when you've come from another Aptimal product as it has different measurements and scoop size. Baby easily swapped to the formula and has had the required outcome. Will switch back to usual Aptimal in a couple of weeks when lactose intolerance subsides.

A lifesaver
This formula is easy to prepare and my baby really enjoys it. It has taken away his sever tummy pains he was getting and he's a completely different baby. He still vomits but nowhere near to what he was. He used to scream for hours with tummy pain and had sever colic and as soon as I put him on this formula his tummy didn't swell up and he didn't scream out in pain. It has definitely been a lifesaver and I now add it to puréed pumpkin which he loves. Would 100% recommend this to anyone who has a baby tat suffers tummy pain.

Helped reflux baby
Our darling has had reflux and tummy stress from birth. We tried every formula available. This formula helped us get our baby off medication and is much better than other lactose free or soy forumlas for our bub. Our bub has normal tummy habits on this too which is a relief! Hope this helps someone else too

Excellent product - but recent change to tin is annoying!
After a tummy bug my GP suggested a lactose free formula - to help reducce any inflamation of the digestive tract after the bug. I bought Aptamil Gold +DeLact because it was the only lactose free formula available in Coles that day. Honestly I was hesitant, especially being Gold as I'd read some gold formulations are quite difficult for little ones initially. However, it was easy to prepare and even after a good shake the bubbles seemed to settle quickly. My little girl took the bottle immediately and after 3 weeks of goopy poops throught out t...Read more
he day and night, it all settled and she is now more content. I purchased a follow up tin as a 'just-in-case' and was sorry to realise the formulation has changed and so has the Tin design. WHile my little girl hasn't seemed too affected by the change in formulation, the tin design no longer has the scoop levelling rim, which is a very convenient feature and should be in all tins marketed as "Premium" or "Gold" as the Aptamil brand promotes. Apart from this little gripe I can't really fault this product.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Saved my sanity!
Our little one got a gastro bug recently which meant she couldn't have milk or dairy products until everything settled. She was not happy about not getting milk and cried constantly for it. I asked the dr if there is something I could give and was recommended a soy or lactose free formula. I gave this a go and it has saved my sanity! She's happy that she gets milk without making the gastro worse plus it kept her hydrated. Thank you!

Best formula for lactose intolerant babied
Our baby daughter switched from breast milk to formula at 3 months because my wife was not making enough milk. We tried goat milk and A2 at the beginning but she was always complaining half an hour after drinking it. Being lactose intolerant myself we thought to give it a go with lactose free formula and we noticed a big difference straight away. No more crying or complaining, a complete different baby. Her stool also changed from watery to normal as soon as we changed. Being our first child we did not understand they were not normal before. We...Read more
usually buy from Chemist Warehouse or Priceline which are the cheapest sources. Later at 12 months we started mixing the formula with half amount of normal lactose free milk such as Zymil. She would not accept Zymil milk only, maybe for the different taste. Since we changed from breast milk to formula we noticed a considerable increase in growth in the Growth+ weight chart iphone app. She went from 6.5 kg at 4 months (50% percentile) to 7.5 kg (60%) at 6 months. Breast milk is always best for brain development but this formula helped us a lot considering our situation.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Great after gastro bug
Great formula after our then 9 month old developed secondary lactose intolerance after 3-4 weeks of diahrea from a gastro bug. She thrived straight away and continued to do really well on this formula. This teamed with her meals really chubbed her up. Shes now almost 14 months and have just changed to the Aptamil gold plus which she seems to be gassy on still its first week off the de-lact so will see how we go for another week. Will go back to this if gas does not reduce.

Our saving grace
Our 15 week old daughter was in special care nursery with multiple issues when she was born. When she was finally able to come home 3 weeks after birth we noticed she was not a big eater.
As weeks passed it became worse and worse to the point where she would go all day without feeding and would scream endlessly. After multiple hospital stays and doctors appointments she was diagnosed with silent reflux and colic and was put on medication which changed to another medication as none were working.
The moment we gave her a bottle she screamed,...Read more
kicked, cried and pushed the bottle away. In 7 weeks she only put on 600g. From 10am to 9pm she just screamed. GPs, hospital workers and paediatricians just kept saying she had colic and each week would tell me to just wait another week for the meds to work. I thought perhaps she had a cows milk protein intolerance, or just something was not right with her but I was made to feel like a stupid. I was told to stay away from any formula that was not standard formula. One miserable night after spending 3 days with no sleep and ears ringing i took my screaming daughter to a chemist where I begged the pharmacist for help. He explained in detail about reflux etc and suggested I try karicare de lact. What a god send !!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

100% Happier Baby
This is an excellent formula however the supply is an absolute joke. I cannot recommend this formula enough. Our baby screamed on and off for up to 6 hours most nights for the first 5 weeks. After being told it was normal for babies to be unsettled at that time of day we finally had a nurse tell us that he may have a lactose intolerance. I bought this formula straight away and after about 5 days we had a new, much happier baby. However, it can be very difficult to buy. We had to travel to a town 30 minutes away and go to about 5 different place...Read more
s with our newborn baby just to buy it for about a month. Then it finally came back in stock in our local Woolworths. Yesterday I see that it has now been taken off the shelf at our local Woolworths again, so here we go again! I think we'll have to try and transition to another formula now unfortunately. We found it on the clearance shelf but still at the full price!!1 comment
Just wanted to update. We are still using the De Lact formula as I found it online at Chemist Warehouse! So we now order 2 tins (that's the limit per transaction) and with postage it's still cheater than it was in Woolworths.

I have a 3 month old bub who is very fussy with bottles. I am mixed feeding and have tried 3 different formulas but still not much works. She has had bad gas and wind problems since she was born and is a colicky bub. Can I give this formula a try while still breastfeeding?

My baby is on allerpro syneo for what we thought was a CMPA but she has had green frothy poos since (For 10days), could this instead be a lactose intolerance?

Hi Rachel, it is not unusual for poos to go green on the Aptamil Allerpro Syneo. Your baby is unlikely to be lactose intolerant, but please contact us at the Nutricia Careline where we have a team of dietitians and nutritionist to discuss this further. Jessica M.asked
Hi, my daughter is 11 months and have been using delac formula after we realised she was lactose intolerant. How do I transition my baby to cows milk?
4 answers
My son is 5 months now and we have been using delact for 3 months, I have seen the pediatrician about lactose intolerance and she suggested to start at 6 months with a tiny spoon of soy yoghurt and work our way to a spoon and if there is no reaction then try with soy milk. Not sure in your case but I would probably see a pediatrician about it.
Good luck!
Thanks Dom. Saw the paediatrician around then as well and have been giving her yoghurt / cheese etc and she is fine. Around 9 months we started cows milk with Weetbix and no vomiting. My paediatrician didn’t mention soy milk but will definitely use that if my daughter reacts to cows milk
Hi Jessica. Lactose intolerance in babies under 12 months is usually secondary, so related to a virus or bacteria reducing the amount of lactase enzyme produced by the gut for a 3-4 week period. Lactose is the main carbohydrate in breast milk and it maximises calcium absorption from babies milk to support bone and tooth mineralisation. Lactose intolerance is a dose dependent reaction and does not cause any gut damage, so starting with small amount of whole milk or milk formula (which you can mix in the same bottle with lactose free milk/formula) and increasing the amount of whole milk feed as lactase production in babies gut increases. Note that yoghurt and cheese contain almost no lactose due to the fermentation process (lactose is converted to lactic acid) so are likely to be well tolerated. Babies with lactose intolerance will often tolerate about half a cup of milk before symptoms become distressing.
Do please call us at the Careline (1800 438500) or livechat with us ([email protected]) if you would like some personalised advice or more information.
