Walkies

Just moved in to a brand new apartment which had this machine pre-installed. Put the same amount of clothes in as what I would normally put in my old washing machine spread out nicely. Made it to the spin cycle and this machine was shaking very violently walking out from under the cupboard smashing in to the wall. Stopped and turned off the machine at the wall opened the door to rearrange the clothes. Tried express 15 minutes but did the same thing. Great can't wash! Not happy Jan!!!

F14 fault

Had the machine a couple of years. It has worked fine up until recently when I get a F14 fault when drying. The troubleshooting guide doesn't tell me what this means. Any ideas? I thought it may have been a lint filter, but it doesn't seem to have one. I cleaned the pump, but no change.

Acrid Electronics Burning.

We're temporarily renting an apartment which has the Ariston ARMF125 installed. The washer function worked ok, however the dryer function almost killed us over night. We woke to the apartment full of acrid brown smoke (our lungs are still burning 12 hours later). The machine had not turned itself off and melted everything plastic internally and the clothes were burning. Thankfully our beautiful Collie dog woke us up so we could resolve the issue.
Never again!

Junk machine and even worse customer service

i was talking into an Ariston by the salesman at Harvey Norman. Given it was half the price of the LG one I went to purchase I gave it a go. Never. Again.

Broke down in less than a year. The customer service is appalling. So many promises of 'x date at the latest'. None of which were reliable.

Incredibly unimpressed and wouldn't dream of recommending.

I am very happy with my Ariston washer dryer

I have had my machine for 5 years and am very happy with it. I don't often use the dryer unless it is wet outside and I can't dry heavy items, especially during winter. I also think that the dryer should not be overloaded and focus on using the advised settings according to the garments I need to dry. The washing machine is gentle on my clothes. The only negative aspect I can think of is that it can be a little noisy during spins. On one occasion I had to call for a technician because I was using too much detergent and it was overflowing during the cycle. The advice I was given was to use half the prescribed amount of washing detergent and softener. Since then I have had no problems at all.

Very reliable

Purchased in 2010 as we needed a Washer/dryer in one & certain size to fit into an Apartment. First impression i was not happy with the dryer but once you lay out clothes they dry quickly. Once we moved out of Apartment so have not needed to use dryer only wash which does its job.. Recommend & would buy again. So 5 years on still going strong. .

Not happy

We have a 125 and by the sound of the common complaint, its steam burning clothes and has even burnt my hands while pulling out clothes and that after standing back and letting the dangerous steam cloud settle !! In the dryer mode tried all settings and smaller loads!! Seem dangerous to me!! Would never leave it unattended while I'm in dry mode !!

Seems ok thus far

I've had mine for three weeks - my first experience with a front loader/dryer combo. I'm happy with it. The dryer is a little different to a traditional dryer in that the items come out seemingly damp but if you spread them out a little for a while, they're ok.

Awful, don't buy

My washer/dryer was broken upon delivery. 4 months later it has stopped working again.. this time in the middle of a cycle but it unlocked the door. When the door was opened all the water came gushing out..
I am now stuck without a washer until they send their repair man out, if I could afford to I would throw it out and buy a different brand. The washer is 4 months old.

Wow, what a comical reply.
I didn't realise it was broken until I used it for the first time... I know how to proceed from here. You've been veeeery helpful...

Disappointed is an understatement

Dryer gets incredibly hot and burns and puts brown stains on our clothes after 10min! Have experimented with all settings. Technician has come said there was nothing wrong was incredibly arrogant and rude about it - even after witnessing the hotness of the clothes and even the hot smell after 20min. I am terrified it is going to set our home on fire. It has ruined many of our clothes and linen. Highly disappointed with this product want a refund!

Dreadful. Destroyed the wash.

I used this for the first time yesterday & wont be using it ever again. The brand new sheets I washed came out burnt. Literally orangy brown burn marks on the cotton! This coupled with the fact the wash & dry took in excess of 5 hours is unacceptable. Am I really supposed to spend an entire weekend locked at home laundering? I don't think so.

Save yourself the trouble and walk right by this one. Its a total dud. Shame I couldnt give it minus stars.

Doesn't dry clothes

I'm renting a unit that has this machine pre-installed. It does an OK job washing small loads and that's about it. Using it as a dryer is a waste of time and energy. Clothes (small loads) come out very hot and wet even after an hour. I tried to dry one bed sheet at a time then two pillow cases - nothing else and after an hour, they all came out very humid and very hot. Leaving them in longer, they eventually come out dry but with a strange burnt smell. I would never recommend this machine to anyone. You're better off saving your money by buying a proper washer and hanging you laundry or bringing the wet laundry to your local cleaners to dry.

Had promise and failed to deliver.

Bought due to lack of space. Had similar issues with horrible smell of drying clothes. This dissipated over time. Found it temperamental at times. After 6 months of use, it died both motor and mother board. They fixed it... Eventually. Then a month later it has gone again. Still waiting to hear back from technician. Hopefully Ariston has a good way of restoring faith in the brand because right now I wouldn't recommend this product to my enemies.

Happy yet Sad

the detergent compartment always open when the machine goes on high spins. it's quite annoying. don't know whether I should air the machine as it stinks only after the first wash.

Great product for its price

4 years and still running fine. Washing quick cycle is very convenient and so is the delay timer. The dryer works fine as a condensor dryer. The trick is to not fully load the machine and always half the load to dry. I tend to only use the dryer on thicker clothes or towels and air dry the rest. The wool cycle is very good as well to wash knits, jumpers, sweaters etc. Been trouble free so far. Couldn't be happier.

Don't expect too Much

I have had mine for 4 1/2 years and the motor has ceased. Thank goodness I bought extended warranty and have replaced it with an Electrolux Front Loader which is an absolute dream. The Ariston was very noisy and only used the dryer function twice and it was useless. Clothes came out stinking so I had to buy a separate dryer. No way I would buy another one but it was ok

Great machine.

I have had my Ariston Margherita washer dryer combo for 11 years. It had a hard working life and has been fantastic, and only recently started being very noisy on the fast spin cycle. The tech tells me it will be the drum bearing gone and will cost around $700 to repair (mainly labour). So now off to buy a new one, and hoping for another great 11 years.

Absolute Rubbish, I don't even want to give it a star.

I have had my washer dryer less than 3 weeks, I have used it 5 times, it is wrecking my clothes. They are so badly wrinkled that even clothes i normally wear to the gym and just wash dry and fold are so wrinkled they look like they need ironing. Even if I have to cut my losses and dump it I will.
Nothing

Waste of money

This has to be from hell. Horribly useless! The dryer is horibble! Basically if you are to buy this, prepare to cry everytime you decide to wash and dry your clothes. Stick to the normal separate wash and dryer please. Ariston made me lose my faith in laundry! I was looking forward to using this only to find out it uses up so much electricity. Worst invention ever
Absolutely nothing
Everything. It deserves to be in a dump

Great Machine

I already own a regular Ariston washer and am very happy with it. But with the family expanding we decided to get a second machine that also dries in order to be able to do twice as many loads in half the time but also get rid of our drier as this machine also dries. So far, it does a great job. I don't do much drying in general, I usually hang on a clothes horse and only do towels or almost-dry clothes in Winter. The machine was a bit smelly when using as a dryer, but i think that is because it is new.
Good size. Lots of program options - including energy efficiency options.

I love the wash function..

I was hesitant for buying this machine, as I've heard some horror stories about washer/dryer combos. But we have no space for a washer and a dryer, and in the winter months, we need a dryer, so we went ahead and bought it anyway. Long story short, I love the wash cycles, there are so many options! But the dryer? Not too keen on it. Even just one set of clothes didn't dry properly, it all still had to be hung on the clothes horse. And as someone had previously posted, it smells weird when coming out. Like rubber? But the clothes didn't retain this smell, thankfully. (And they did only take 30 minutes to finish drying on the clothes horse.)
Great wash cycles!
Dryer could be better. But better than nothing!

Great machine

I moved house & no longer had space for my matching Bosch washing machine & dryer. I decided to get an Ariston as it was the only washer dryer to fit in the cupboard. I read some bad reviews but gave it a chance as Harvey Norman were offering a free extended warranty. The machine is fantastic, not missed a beat in 2 years, washes well, even on the 30 minute cycle, which I use most of the time. Uses very little water & the machine can be paused if needed to add extra items. My only complaint is drying can't be a full load & make the clothes smell strange.
30 min wash cycle, 1200rpm spin on longer wash cycles
Cant dry a full load & makes clothes smell strange after drying.

Great Machine!

I was skeptical a bit after some reviews I read, but really needed a washer dryer in one combo unit for a small place with no dryer ventilation. I got it anyway (bought extra warrant of 6 years total). It's a great machine though in its own right! Washes great- even the 30 minute cycle on a light load is great- we don't always dry t it's there if we must have it- and it works just fine without need of ventilation as it's a condenser.

Love it and recommend it.
Looks great- is compact, and efficient with water and electricity
Slower to dry but understood the tradeoff when i bought it

Excellent

i dont know why Ariston are getting bad reviews! i know that every company puts out a lemon at times, but this one has been solid since i got it 6 months ago and has not missed a beat. it does everything well, even hand wash only items are done perfectly. also i dry everything, even delicate do not dry items come out fine, not a single thing has shrunk. clothes do come out of the dryer a tiny bit damp, like when you iron something with a lot of steam, but a minute later its dry. great machine recommend it to all.
Great washing ability, 16 settings for any possible need. dryer works great if you don't over load it. very sturdy, has not moved even a fraction during spin cycle.
can be loud but i believe thats native to all front loaders

Terrible

I found it didnt wash the clothes well and the came out very creased. I actually found some delicates were torn also. The other issue was a spike in electricity!

Very noisy and doesnt clean well
