Excellent quality for money
excellent product for the price you pay for it.
Nice large ear muffs that can cover you entire ears (hence sound cancelling)
extremely long length cable so you can listen to anything (Laptop / computer / TV, etc)
Relatively good sound quality.
Feels fairly solid and well built, think my money was well spent

Great Audio and Build Quality
Pros
- The headphone build quality is great
- The audio quality sound good also
- The earcups cover the entire average ear which helps your ears getting very sore
- They have Interchangeable cables so if one breaks, you can easily replace it
- They're not TOO expensive, pricing around $130 AUD at time of purchase (September, 2016)
Cons
- The earcups can press a little too firmly against your head causing it to in turn, press against your ears which can result in some minor discomfort
- While the audio quality is very good, there is not as much base as what would be expected of these kind of headphones

Overall, the headphones are, in my opinion, great quality and I wouldn't have anything else for my computer use.

Great for the price
Great headphones for the price! These headphones are my first foray into headphones (beyond iphone earbuds) and I am so glad I chose these. Great clarity and sound. They have good ear coverage and are comfortable to wear. They fold super conveniently, are light and are easy to carry around in your bag.

The most accurate "value-priced" headphones on the market!
By "value" I don't mean "cheap" – I paid AU$144 for these. I'm talking about paying as much as it takes to get the really good thing, without throwing money at diminishing returns, where only marginal or questionable improvements come at ever greater expense. In my case, I needed detailed, accurate, flat and transparent sounding headphones for critical monitoring in my home recording studio, which is quite a different use-case scenario to the requirements for consuming music, where the bass and treble are typically boosted to make music sound m...Read more
ore pleasing and enjoyable. I noted that the local TAFE college recommended either Sennheiser HD280 PRO or Sony MDR7506 headphones to students doing their audio engineering course ... but I had already done some research that suggested Audio Technica ATH-M40x headphones would be a viable solution. I was leaning toward the Sonys because of their popularity in the music industry, however I was also aware that the Senns and Audio Technicas were newer "upstarts" that could well be offering more bang-for-buck owing to advances in technology since the Sonys' now rather dated design. This YouTube video settled the issue for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udLoAV7YmjA&t=23s Listen to the other headphones get destroyed by the Audio Technicas – remember, all the headphones have to do is accurately re-present the CD audio. As astonishing as the conclusion to the matter may be – especially for Sony MDR7506 die-hards – the proof of the pudding is in the ... hearing! : )Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fantastic all round headphones
Amazing headphone for the money, these sound better than M50X and Bose QC35 to my ears. They have a fun but quite neutral sound and are very clean.
Build is very light although the pads can be a bit too small. Build quality is great, these are a durable studio monitor.

Wow, great piece of kit for the price.
As a well priced ($150 - $180) headphone the ATH m40x delivers in spades.
Great clarity in all sound stages, very portable if you are on the go (however they do a leak a bit of sound) so might have to go easy in close personal spaces.
But for home listening or out walking, just so comfortable and you just cant go wrong.

Excellent headphones
I got the Audio Technica ATH-M40x from Store DJ last year after my old headphones stopped working. Very happy with the Audio Technica ATH-M40x. Excellent price- only costed me around $120. Great sound quality. Very comfortable to wear. Hasn't had any problems with them so far. Love these headphones and highly recommend.

Exceptional clarity and fidelity on a budget.
The Audio-Technica ATH-40X is has been generating quite a bit of buzz in the audiophile community for a couple of years, and after extensive usage I can see why!
The build is mostly plastic but it does not feel cheap at all. They are solid and robust with a nice quality feel.
Although quite large, they are not overly heavy (240g) and the good quality cushion material does a good job of keeping things comfortable.
A big plus is the detachable cable feature. So if the cable breaks, you can always get a new one (2 cables are included in the box...Read more
