- The headphone build quality is great
- The audio quality sound good also
- The earcups cover the entire average ear which helps your ears getting very sore
- They have Interchangeable cables so if one breaks, you can easily replace it
- They're not TOO expensive, pricing around $130 AUD at time of purchase (September, 2016)

- The earcups can press a little too firmly against your head causing it to in turn, press against your ears which can result in some minor discomfort

By "value" I don't mean "cheap" – I paid AU$144 for these. I'm talking about paying as much as it takes to get the really good thing, without throwing money at diminishing returns, where only marginal or questionable improvements come at ever greater expense. The Audio-Technica ATH-40X is has been generating quite a bit of buzz in the audiophile community for a couple of years, and after extensive usage I can see why!
The build is mostly plastic but it does not feel cheap at all. They are solid and robust with a nice quality feel.
Although quite large, they are not overly heavy (240g) and the good quality cushion material does a good job of keeping things comfortable.
