I have a 3G android phone and have just purchased the updated TravelSIM. The new TravelSIM app is not compatible so what app should I install?

1 answer
Marge

The travel sim app is specific to that SIM so no other app will work but you should not need the app to activate the SIM.

I didnt use the app at all when I had the SIM.

If you are still in Australia its best to contact Australia post about it.

You could install but from what I remember the time left for using the SIM only starts from when you first use it.

Help line phone number?

I couldn't call them as my phone wasn't working due to the faulty SIM!
No business would let me use their phone with the risk of such high international charges despite it claiming to be a "free" call. In countries where English isn't a first language conveying this to them wasn't possible even if ISDN calls could be made. I was cycling Slovenia and France and most budget hotels didnt have a phone in the room.

Is there good coverage in Portugal and Spain ?

Yes there is great coverage there & everywhere we have travelled in the world. We love it as its cheap & easy to use. We have told so many folks about this "wonder card" Cant understand why people use Roaming & paying huge prices. We don't think its advertised enough, so no one knows about it. We am just happy I saw the card on the desk of my local Post Office back in 2001 & used it every since, home & away. Go get one girl.

Not sure, but you’re given an Australian number, so people calling you only have to dial that Australian number and then the call is redirected overseas.

Hi - Once the overseas sim has been activated how long have you got to use the included credit.

Hi Belinda,
From memory I think on the Australia post sim card pack or website - it says you have 30 days from the time of activation of the sim. We are home now but I still had credit after the thirty days. I have taken the Australia post sim out of the phone because we are home but this week-end I am going to put it back in the SIM 2 slot and see if there is still the extra credit I can use up.
My wife and I had a headache overseas activating it. We had a Apple I-Pad and we could not load the sim successfully. We were staying with friends in the UK and we were able to load it on a Windows 10 microsoft laptop.
If you do buy a Australia post sim I would activate it before you leave for overseas and probably best on a android phone or a windows 10 computer. I am not sure how you would go on a i-phone with activation?
My wife and I would not get another Australia post sim because of the issues of activation and approximately after around 7 days of activation and when we wanted to add credit we had to do it in $25.00 data installments. It ended costing us $85.00 in the end.
I would find out what roaming is on your Australian sim and only activate data when you are to ring or roam on the phone. It maybe cheaper?
The staff at the Australia post were prompt though in helping us with issues but it was all a nightmare for us we don't want to repeat.
Good luck!

Hi. I did activate both of them before I left, while talking to Support, who assured they were all okay, but that was not the case.

I personally would not use this sim for Canada. The USA and Canada are on a different zone - so you would need to check to see if you could use this sim. My experience has been appalling using this sim in the UK. Good luck

I have bought one before and I would not do it again. I practically didn't get any of my money's worth. If I were you, I'd try the other travel sims.

Don't even bother, find one that actually works. AP Travelsim is completely useless.

I will never use this sim-card again once my credit is nil. It is a shocking service. A friend oversees. A friend text me and the message arrived 2 days after I arrived back in Australia. Most of the time my family in Malaysia got the massage :No Connection". I tried-test to call a friend sitting opposite me and she got it 2 days later. That is discusting. A call to prepaid travel-sim and they said it is not possible but it happened many times. It is useless in an emergency
