Reliable non expensive tool.`
I had been a National Park Field Officer for 20 years and have used them all Stihl,Husquana,Mc Culluck,Echo, homebrand. After Retirement i bought a cheap Baumr to back up my new Husquana, over the last 12 months the Husky has become the back up tool, the BAUMR works fine as a Semi Pro tool.Just keep it sharp, tighten up screws, jacs etc after a couple of hours use and get used to bar oil leaks.Yeah it wont last forever but nothing much does these days, i mean for $138.come on, i whinged about the starter when i got it and they sent me up a couple more,i bought a pole saw also and have put 20 hours on it, no problems just keep things tight.Hell ive talked myself into buying another one .Cheers B.B.Ocean Shores N.S.W.

Dreadful quality control - good customer support
I purchased the Baumr-AG 62cc 'Professional' saw on ebay in September 2014 only to experience a sequence of faults which resulted in my being able to use it for about 8 hours over 5 months. I do compliment Agrmachinery on their responsiveness to my concerns, and ultimate agreement to refund the purchase cost (albeit three days before the deadline of my declared intention to take the matter to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal for adjudication).
The faults included: starter mechanism (not the chord - the screw on which the re...Read more
wind mechanism which is held to its plastic case inadequately) broke twice, air filter cover nut broke, air filter gasket is inadequate and distorted rapidly changing the air-fuel mixture randomly, dangerously the saw would keep going after I turned the ignition off, and finally on return to the company the technicians found the inside of the cylinder wall was damaged. Despite the quick responsiveness of the customer support and resolutions teams there were considerable delays to provision of replacement parts after photos and details were submitted. On the first occasion a new starter mechanism was only received after it was ordered and shipped to me from China. Even receiving the air filter nut, which they said they had in stock, took several weeks. Finally, they required me to return the saw, which after I pursued it they agreed to pick up with their own courier. I made my claim under the Australian Consumer Law which provides that if an item exhibits major failures then the purchaser can require that the cost be reimbursed provided the item is made available for return. The warranty that they ask you to sign on return of the saw does not comply with the Australian Consumer Law and if you chose to buy this saw (choosing cheapness over quality control) I encourage you not to sign it (as indeed I declined to). Since I had a lot of wood to cut up, and this saw was practically unavailable due to its failures I lashed out real money and bought a real saw - a Stihl. It is built with German quality control, everything is solid, and it cuts through trees like cheese. In the end, you get what you pay for.

Great Saw
I agree with the last writer. I've now had my Baumr-Ag 62 cc saw for 2.5 years. Whilst it is not used professionally It has done a lot of work at home, cutting some large size timber. It has never let me down. Starts pretty easily and has a lot of power. It cost me $146 and has been a great buy. The only problem I've had was a small split in the petrol line. I cut off the damaged end, wired it back on and away it went.

62cc Baumr AG Chainsaw
I think a lot of people are working for the opposition and tell porkies here. I think the Baumr Ag is a fantastic saw. I have owned the 62cc model for a couple of years now and it has never let me down - I have used some of the other Chinese saws and some of them are crap but for the price the Baumr Ag build quality is impressive and spares are cheap. $30 for a carb - buy a German saw and you'll pay that for a carb kit. Maybe if your a pro go Stihl or Husqvarna ?

Works fine so far
Bought one 3 years ago and used once today in fact. Once mixture was adjusted it had plenty of power and chopped up a tree with a base 700mm dia. I'm not a big believer that only the high end stuff is any good, used sensibly I think this will be fine. Nice big bar and cheap as to buy, if it only does one job it is still way cheaper than getting in the highly paid help.

Dangerous and Rough Agr machinery have no ethics
Bought 2 sx76s & 2 sx82 baumr-ags from Agr machinery and all failed. Got my money back for all & the last one they didn't even want back. Everything was wrong with them. Holes drilled in the wrong place. Major failures with all their Air filters and intakes. Rough plastic edges on every surface. These sharp edges damage filters. The overall machine is designed to throw away, that's if you can run them again after one tank of fuel due to the amount of heat build up. The clutch system fails making it impossible to pull the starter cord. They adve...Read more
rtising you can start with your little finger, that's only if the finger is a hand. And the final for this review is the full con rod? Snapping at full speed and having the worst jolt I've ever experienced. So forceful that it broke the saw nearly in half. Don't believe other reviews saying that there's the odd bad one. It's more like the odd good one. And I bought 4 & all failed. The final one could of killed me if I was cutting at the time. And BTW I run saws 7 days a week & maintain them to near new every timeSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

These Chainsaws are excellent
These chainsaws I could fault & I have 3 of them. They are a copy a stihl but the price difference between these & a Stihl is heeps. You could buy 10 of these to 1 stihl & in the 10 you would cut a lot more than you with a Stihl.
Some of the comments on here I cannot & if you are not happy go & buy a Stihl & they leak oil too

For the price can't beet it
I bought this saw to do until I could afford a huski, but can't complain about it, it's cut around 20t of wood ( 2t just last weekend ) yes the air filters are bad ( I rap mine in fine cloth and also stuff some in the top of the motor where it seems to suck most of the saw dust in ) and I've found the chains arnt the best quality but just have a couple spare ( there cheep enough ) and the bar is cheep steel, I've now flipped mine over, but it does the job well and ill run it till it stops ;)
Cheep and reliable
Cheep quolity parts, but what do you expect

Baumer SX 82 chainsaw
The old saying of "you get what you pay for" rings very true with this chainsaw !
Can't believe how poor the quality is and they really are rubbish.
Don't waste your money trying to save some money as it just doesn't work like that.
Absolutely dreadful air filter that let's massive amounts of fine saw dust through. They are obviously designed for soft wood where the dust is not so fine. Can't see the bore, piston and rings lasting beyond a decent season of outings.
Tried putting a stocking over the filter but power drops considerably due to...Read more

commercial use
We are a professional land scaping and arborist business. We run several brands of saws. The Baur-AG saws have been remarkable for the price. Like all saws, they need to be maintained daily before and after use. They have proven to be as serviceable and reliable as any.We replace the bar and chain with top quality when the originals wear out . Yes the air filters are the true weak point, but a little creative engineering will overcome that. The engine to handle isolation mounts are prone to failure in the larger models, again, get creative.Neve...Read more
r had a catastrophic or dangerous failure with one. I suspect that any of the negative reviews of this brand are by individuals not savvy with chainsaw use, or as with any brand, occasionally there will be a lemon. Happy to recommend the product.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Baum AG products across the board
They are all bad... do not buy Baum Ag products. They are all cheap junk. Never work when you need them. You can not depend on these products. Unfortunately the price fools many people, like myself. Its a false economy. look past this cheap stuff and buy something that will actually work. this company is cheating their customers. All bad.
Doesn't work for longer than about three months

Baumr-AG Pro 52 cc
I have had mine four years and it has worked flawlessly every time I have used it. Sorry, but I will never buy another Stihl product ever again This is a copy of the still farm boss valued at $1100. Even if my AG-pro died, I would buy another, you can do the maths how far in front you still are.
works as it should and the price is extroidinary
only as stated by some others, it has a slow leak from the base of the oiler even if it is turned off. WHO CARES !!

You get what you pay for! all these cheap skates complaining about a chainsaw they pay $150.00 for and complaining its not the same quality as a Sthil. You are the problem not the chainsaw. You cheap tight asses are not not willing to spend the money and support your local products or what you deem as a "quality" brand yet you cheap out and expect the quality to be the same, you people are wasting good oxygen in the air.
cost, powerful & works well.

SX62 Baumr-AG 62cc
Have been involved with the purchase of 5 of these units.
One had an early engine failure which was rectified by AGR.
Had one for nearly 4 years now, and it's done a lot of work. They all seem to start well, 4-5 pulls on choke when cold, and only ever a couple of pulls when warm.
Aircleaner not the greatest design, seems to let in sawdust, but to this point at least, engine still running fine. I haven't huge expectations given it's low cost compared to a name brand, but given my experience with these, I wouldn't buy anything else.

Value for money
These Chainsaws are very good value for money.
I have Cut firewood with this for the last 2 yrs And the only problems I have had are
1. pull handle broke- $5 to replace
2. had to retune the mixture followed the manual And it works
3. Chain is not as good as the USA Chains - just keep sharpening it

Pretty good saw for the price
Bought this saw for $140 on my doorstep, needed a good tune, works well, cut 6tonnes, still cutting, chain tensioner is broken, good saw for the price I paid :) I was thinking about buying a sx82 for a backup for my 066 magnum Stihl, hopefully as good as the sx62
Cheap, good, worth it
Plastic, easy to break

Baumr-AG Pro SX 82cc
$200 From AGR Machinery Ebay
Well you can Saw trees to your hearts content, I have kept the maintenance up on this Saw as it is very cheap and cheerful, runs like a Dream, Yes it leaks Chain Oil, but I also have a Husqvarna 340 and it also leaks. This Baumr has chewed through approx 5 trees and trunks no problem.
I do remember that getting a professional in to remove a Fallen Tree can cost up to $1000
So it has really paid its self off already. Love the Cheap Chinese Junk (Sometimes)

Baumr 62 issues
Baught a baumr 62 as a backup to my Sthil. Most 2 strokes need to be broken in. After 5 hours work I pulled it apart and gaped. The air filter lets fine wood dust through, the trigger assembly was loose and the piston bore was scored. I contacted the supplier and they offered a new piston and barrel for free. I fitted these, sealed the air filter and added filter gause. Saw ran ok. Don't buy this saw for any more expectation then one tree. My rancher 40cc out lasts and out powers it.
I can lend it to neighbors and not care that they stuff it
Poor design, poor build quality, parts fall off

Baumr-ag sx 62 sx 72 and sx 82
I brought 5 sx-63 saws all are dead now for various reason eg:oil pump, ignition coil, cracked fuel tank, broken fuel line. They all ran fine when they were going but do not expect to get a long life out of them the hours of them lasting ranged from 20- 60 hours tops. When contacting supplier for parts the cost just wasn't worth fixing them.I did replace the oil pump one one of them but the new one failed after about 15hours use so not value for money to fix considing price and time in labour fixing them. I also brought a sx 72 it never ran at full...Read more
power and died of a dead ignition coil with less than 20hrs use.(u think i would learn) when it died i brought a sx 82 i still have it but it runs like its running on 1/2 a cylinder, suspect it will die young of a bad coil. Now over this period of 3 years i have a ms 170 sthil had it 5 years and two 60cc husqvanas witch i i had for 7years they get used just as much and neither has had broken down. The little stihl is a pain with the chain going tight but thats it. We cut about 10 to 15 ton of fire wood a year with our saws. Verdict if you want a saw just to do the odd tree lopping in your back yard they are ok the 62cc ones that is. But if you need a saw for fire wood you wouldn't want to rely on them.Imagine driving out bush and your saw just dies all of a sudden with no warning.(and this happens alot with these chinese saws). I know brand name saws are expensive but they are worth it going to buy another 60cc Husqvana soon was quoted nearly $1300 but i bet it will still be going in 5 years time. cheap they just don't last, nasty,Similar opinion? Questions & Answers
Kenasked
please help, for whatever reason the oil is not flowing onto the chain, but right underneath the saw is a very small screw and there's oil coming out there. Any answers???

Check and clean your oil holes on your bar, one on each side near your chain adjuster holes they could be blocked.

I have a Baumr-AG GSC0513. It's been a great machine throughout the 15 years I've owned it but it's been sitting for a while and when I fueled it and filled the chain oil recently it started leaking the chain oil somewhere around near the chain drive area even though it's not running. Is there any way to fix this.?.
1 answer
Not sure if that old model has an oil adjust screw underneath the saw. If it does you can tighten when not using and then lossen before using. My new model only saw does the same thing. That is the only problem I have had with mine. I just fill mine with bar oil when using it and then clean around the oil fill plug to remove sawdust and then use a funnel to drain the oil back out into the bar oil container when I have finished using it. The other thing I do is store my saw on an old rubber car floor mat when I store it after use. That way any oil left in the saw that does drain out is caught by the mat.
