Value For Money. Reliable
Bought This saw second hand 3 years ago and only problem ive had till now was ripcord. Its a slower saw than a stihl farm boss, however for value its worth every penny. Just a tip to anyone buying this saw, go and buy a decent chain and you will see the difference, always keep your chain sharp, and this saw will easily cut 2 tonne of wood everytime.

Starts well. Slow cutter.
Just bought a SX62. Starts and runs well. Cuts ok for the odd job but cutting loads of fire wood slow against 20 yo Stihl 029. Stihl doesn't bog down where as the Sx will. On a test run the Stihl cuts 3x faster on the same log. Might be the chain quality although tested new.
Would I buy again. In short no. Better to spend slightly more for Oregon chain and bar with better finish chainsaw if you're cutting a tonne of wood a week. Casual use ok.

Having cut 10+ ton of wood i an very happy with sx62. The chain it came with must have not been sharpened correctly. Cutting well now. The clutch spring did break which was disappointing but was repl... Read more

5 seasons for less than 200 bills!
Baumr AG 62cc chain saw, purchased 7 years ago. Has cut around 8 ton of fire wood per year for 5 years. It's stating to get tired but who cares for less than 200 dollars, I'm amazed it lasted this long. The build quality is garbage but it starts easily every time. Just purchased another as I think this its 6th season of fire wood will be its last. Hope the new sx62 lasts as long.

Good value if you can get parts
I bought my Baumr-AG SX62 about 2 years ago. Paid about $ 180. Started first time. Worked perfectly for a year or so, mostly work round the life-style block. Really grunty and chewed through everything. Stopped working the start of last winter. Took it to the local chainsaw repair man. He couldn't fix because he couldn't get parts. Still mechanically fine but I imagine the carburettor diaphragms need replacing. He called it "pig in a poke" probably because he sold Stihl machines for 10 times the price. I would buy again if I could get parts.

Baumer-AG Chainsaw and hedge trimmer
I have bought both the Baumer Ag chainsaw and the 4 stroke hedge trimmer. Used the chainsaw for 3 years no problems then it backfired in use and stopped. It cost $130 to purchase. Took it to get fixed cost $80 ran twice after that then I gave it away. The hedge trimmer I have used regularly for 5 years with no maintainence. The air filer cap fell off so I made one up. Now it needs a fuel tank gromit as is has started leaking badly. I suppose over time it has just shrunken. Valve for money is worth it, but if it stops working dont pay to try and fix it. Throw it away.

Crap. Crap crap. Don't buy, no proper manual even online, bits fell off within 5 minutes, brand new would never start. Had repaired and now in the bin. How about crap, waste of time and money. Save yourself the grief. Do not buy this Chinese made crap! Junk!

My experience with Baumr-AG SX 62
Yes, you're right! I had one myself and when the plastic handle on the pull-rope broke, I replaced it from a piece of broom handle with a hole drilled in the centre. It went alright for a little while until one day, I couldn't start it at all as if something got jammed! Then I took the side cover off and noticed one screw from the coil came undone and wrecked the flywheel damaging all the cooling fins. So it seems to me that the factories in China didn't really care about quality but only quantity as you only get what you pay for.

For The Money, What's Not To Like.
I've owned this saw for a few years now and can't believe they can make these for the price.
I got mine from an eBay auction for $97 delivered, that's insane.
I really expected the saw to be pretty bloody ordinary to tell the truth, but as I wasn't going to use it daily, I wasn't to worried.
After assembly and filling the fuel and oil tanks, I read the start instructions (yep, I really did that), the saw started quickly and settled down to a nice idle immediately with no restarts straight out of the box, impressive. After a warm up I hit the...Read more

Morrison 52
Saw the Baumr-AG on ebay. Ugh. Just bought a Morrison 52 for $399 and photo's look like twins. Minor difference on/off switch and colour. Love the saw. Easily cuts 1m diameter dry hard wood 1 ute load per session. Draw bar has been shorten 2 inch to keep saw revvy and cutting easy. Looks the same. Great saw. Bidding on 76cc atm. Can't fault besides initial basic what read such as fuel line and tidy up gaskets. 52 nice size for ute loads of firewood, felling 2 foot diameter trees. Hope it helps.

Value for money
Is this the best saw around? No. But for the price it's pretty hard to beat.
I have 6 chainsaws, 5 of which are Stihl and go hard all day.
I bought this as a bit of an experiment and I can honestly say it's a decent unit.
I do my own servicing and maintenance and this little fella doesn't let me down. It's not as powerful as its equivalent Stihl but if you look after it like you should with any tool, it's pretty hard to fault for around $120.
If highly recommend for the casual user
Pros = value for money and reliable if looked after
Cons = down on hp on equivalent size saws

You get what you pay for.
Ive just bought my second SX62. The first one is about four years old, although its really only done two years of collecting firewood. You can expect to get a years worth of domestic cutting out of one, costing roughly $10 a tonne. Not worth servicing, in fact most chainsaw specialists wont work on them. The replacement cost is the same as a service on a quality saw, so doesn't add up having a Stihl or Husqvana is my opinion. My original one is still going, had a bit of trouble starting it when hot, however a new spark plug and the problems fixed.

Piece of crap
Pull cord manifold broke, on/off switch stopped working. I definitely wouldn't suggest this product to anyone, its the worst chainsaw I've ever used/purchased.

Price is awesome still going strong after 4years
This is the best Chinese tool I own. I use it lots a few things like the bar oil leaks when not in use but starts on the 3rd pull, it's getting on now so will just buy another one heaps of power as well why would you spend $ 400 on a stile.

I've had the SX62 and evolved to the SX72
I've had it for 4yrs averaging 30hrs every winter, so that's 120 hrs, and it has cut approx 2hrs/ton = 60tons of averaging 20cm diameter logs of gum,{ I don't bother with ironwood or mulga, it blunts even Oregon manganese tipped chains after 30 minutes. I can't afford tungsten but that's an option for really hardwood} Choose your chain and wood, ripper chains stay sharper on medium hard woods like redgum and bloodwood, they deflect and tear the wood at an angled pitch reducing friction and contact surface of cutting tip. I just hold it full throttle and thrash it through the log, jeez, for $200, what do you expect?
This saw would do well in Texas amongst inbreds ;)

Too hard to start
Very hard to start my Baumr 62 AG Pro. Nylon teeth on cord spool wear out quickly I have worn out two cord spools after 5 uses and about 20 starts. Solved the problem by using a chord spool from my old whipper snipper. The spool has four teeth instead of the genuine part which only has two and the teeth are longer so they engage better and dont wear out. Once you get started it goes ok and has plenty of power for domestic use. Havent used it for 18 months and cant get it started despite fresh fuel. Settled for using a sharp hand saw for doin...Read more
g the job! At $148 it was cheaper than hiring for the work i have done but the cost of physiotherapy to fix my shoulder and hand due to pulling the starter cord a 100 times every time I need to use it isnt worth it. Deceiving German name made in China. Not recommendedSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Quicker than a. Hand saw
First things first, I am just in a normal suburban block and whilst i have over 20 established trees. This product is only used for that, so in other words sparingly. However, for the intentions I purchased it for. It works a treat. Comfortable to hold and is relatively easy to start. The-down side is that it leaks chain oil, when not in use. If I was an Arborist and needed a new Chainsaw for work, would I recommend this product, then no, it's just a toy. But for back yard stuff, yes it does the job

Your still in front despite the quality.
I owned an SX62 for a little over three years and it did a lot of work and filled several dozen trailer loads with good hardwood. Towards the end there were problems with the starter chord, filter, spark plug and generally getting it started (both hot and cold). But I look at it this way if I had hired the same chainsaw for the price I would have gotten about 2.5 Days of work done, every day after this to me is a bonus.
I am about to order my SX82, lets see how many seasons I can get out of it.

I have a Baumr-AG GSC0513. It's been a great machine throughout the 15 years I've owned it but it's been sitting for a while and when I fueled it and filled the chain oil recently it started leaking the chain oil somewhere around near the chain drive area even though it's not running. Is there any way to fix this.?.
1 answer
Not sure if that old model has an oil adjust screw underneath the saw. If it does you can tighten when not using and then lossen before using. My new model only saw does the same thing. That is the only problem I have had with mine. I just fill mine with bar oil when using it and then clean around the oil fill plug to remove sawdust and then use a funnel to drain the oil back out into the bar oil container when I have finished using it. The other thing I do is store my saw on an old rubber car floor mat when I store it after use. That way any oil left in the saw that does drain out is caught by the mat.

Thought I'd give an update on the SX62. I purchased a Carlton chain and it seemed to perform much better than the chain the saw came with. The saw is quite heavy on the fuel use.
earch on ebay and the Ozway saw would be my saw of choice. The supplier has worked with farmers and manufacture to resolve issues and provides a much higher spec. saw for only $9 more. Would suggest checking it out. I'm a farmer so I appreciate the supplier acting in feedback.I have done more res... Read more
