WoksPurchased Bessemer wok in the early 80s and happily used it constantly for many years. No longer have it now and to my surprise, recently seen it available on a Facebook ad. Eagerly purchased thinking of my original wok . Most disappointed . Packaging said made in China. Opened to find a smaller, inferior product.

WoksI own 2 Bessemer woks as I bought the second one during a sale where I could exchange an old fry pan for a much reduced price wok while the first one was being recoated after the Teflon peeled off in like a couple of years. Only ever used one as I didn't want to ruin the newly coated one. I have now put the second wok away in the cupboard for a few months as all the Teflon on the wok has peeled off too. Do not dare to use the recoated one as the teflon will most definitely peel off again, I'm sure. No confidence in the product and would not recommend as you can get a better product for much lesser.

Do not believe in Bessemer product. Al talk product is not worth it. Buy a cheaper one and it is perfect. I bought one for $5.00 30 years ago. Use it all the time. It is as good as new will not pay for another Bessemer. Not worth it.
Melanie, This is not so necessary with the newer coatings but it’s not a bad practice. Enjoy your Wok!

Our current cast Bessemer Wok is not a ‘knockoff’ and definitely not inferior. It is the same size as the original 32cm Wok with a superior reinforced non stick coating and still fits the 32cm cast li

This was arguably better for high heat cooking but our customers generally prefer the easy clean reinforced nonstick surface. There was a larger maxi wok which fit our 37cm lid but this was discontinued a number of years ago.
