Full of Nasty Chemicals - not safe for Pregnancy

published

I picked up a bottle of Bio Oil at Target today. I was in a rush didn't have time to check out the ingredients before purchasing, I just grabbed and ran = Regret. I got home and read the shocking list of on the back of this product. It completely astounds me that Bio-oil marketed for use by pregnant women. Just to name a few: BHT - immune system toxicant, banned in many countries, Benzyl Salicylate - not safe for pregnant women, CI 26100 - has bioaccumulative effects, mainly used as a fuel colourant. So I've forked out $25 for a 125ml of toxic liquid that no one should be rubbing all over themselves, let alone pregnant woman.

The scent but besides that, everything is perfect!

The only thing I would want different is the smell,I would wear it a lot more if it had no scent or a nice smell to it. I get concerned when I put it on and the smell is unappealing to me and to others. But besides that, works perfectly.

Best oil ever

published

I use bio oil on my legs which get dry easy. If I miss a day I notice they are still ok so it last a long time. I find it too rich for my face but great for my neck at night only (otherwise feels like it's cooking in the sun during the day) only down side is that it's expensive. But you can find it on special sometimes. Great stuff for really dry skin.

Bio oil is an effective product to use on your skin

published

A great product. Use under face cream twice a day. You don't need much. It has made my skin feel softer and visually it has appears my skin is smoother and blemishes have faded. After two months, my 56 year old skin appears better and makes me feel better. Worth a try and not expensive.

It works!

This product is a miracle worker. I fell of my quad bike a while ago and it left a nasty burn scar, looked horrible and all the products I was using, just wasn't working until I came across bio oil, it's noticeable that it has improved the appearance of my scar.

raised age spots

I am 59 yo and have had quite a few raised age spots - charmingly called barnacles. Doctors and skin specialists have told me the only way to remove them is surgically ... well I thought I would try Bio Oil on one that came up on my face and within a few weeks it dried up and fell off. I have since successfully removed every one of the almost dozen I have had by applying Bio Oil twice a day - nothing more. They just dry up and disappear. I am over the moon that all my barnacles are GONE!!!!

its just oil nothing special

published

Had my first pregnancy last year bought biooil because the add recommended it. Ive used products like vitamin e oil and emu oil before and i didnt find bio oil any better to be honest. At the end of the day there is no magical oil that will take away your skin marks. Save yourself a buck and just get vitamin e oil instead.

Improved facial skin

Am definitely in love with this product! Previously used on stretch marks and thought I'd try on my acne prone but dehydrated face. Morning under my BB cream and night under Night moisture mask. I am not breaking out and not oily. My skin is smoother and more even toned and this is only one month into use twice daily! Love, love!

It's alright!

I have to say firstly this product is not going to work for everyone. Some people just have good luck and some don't. I have red/purple stretch marks on my hips, inner knees, thighs, breast, arms and butt. I have to say this product doesn't magically happen over night. It takes time, so you need to be patient. I noticed the stretch marks on my hips and arms are slowly fading to a silvery white colour. This product doesn't make stretch marks completely go away but it does fade to lighter shades since stretch marks are scars. I look at them as beauty marks/tiger stripes. That's how I learned to love and accept myself.

Stretch marks

I'm only young and at school we had to do swimming in sport, I told my step mum that I had really bad stretch marks on the insides of my legs, she suggested I use Bio-Oil so I tried it and it started working within the first month. I was no longer to embarrassed about wearing bathers in front of all my pears. If you have a similar problem use Bio-Oil its really working!!

Works well; must try!!

published

Bio oil works effectively i used it when i got stretch marks from puberty. i couldn't even wear a bikini in public without feeling flushed and embarrassed. When i first bought bio oil it was working magically the scars have faded but they re still very noticeable. a good example would be was i burnt my leg with the pan and it left a white mark, so i decided to use bio oil and in 1 in a half months it was gone!

Its alright

I have tried using bio-oil for a period of time and find that it is a decent product. My only problem with it is the oil component, if i drip it on my linen it is so so hard to get them off! Now I have switched to using scratch marks butter instead, it is just easier to handle that's it. I also find butter slightly cheaper than bio-oil.

acne scars

published

I have got some pretty bad acne scars and ever since I have used this (and I started to use paw paw ointment not long ago aswell)... the appearance of my acne scars has decreased so much
However I am also starting to break out at the bottom of my chin and it may be due to that, or it could be something else

Not sure about Bio-oil. Not impressed with such product.

published

I have tried it for 2 weeks, morning, noon and night. Firstly found it very very oily and took a long time for the skin to absorbe it. I have sun spots on my face and hands and after 2 weeks, I feel like they were getting worse. Not impressed at all.

Can you mix bio oil with Caro white?

Hi Clive, I don't mix bio-oil with anything. I simply apply bio-oil in the morning and before bed. I do believe that Caro White is kind of bleach or skin lightening lotion. I suggested that if you are expecting only smooth skin, healthy skin tone and less scar, bio-oil is perfect for it. Please keep applying regularly particularly on the drying spots (elbows and knees)
