I'm having trouble with the B800, its having trouble pulling and just keeps smoking. I have tried the flue at different heights and even had the baffle plate out but doesn't seem to want to draw

Hi Alex, Wood Fires will act differently when the fluing is cold or warm or hot, different fuel will also have an affect in regards to smoking. Please let me know if it is smoking when the fluing is hot as this is when it will draw better and shouldn't smoke out the front. Please send me an email direct on [email protected] for more help.

Hi, Im planning to buy the Blaze B820 inbuilt until I saw bad review on the Blaze fireplaces.

Can anyone please tell me if the Blaze B820 is a good fireplace, no smoking issues, baffle, or noisy issues??
I would be worried if that would be the case. Looking forward to hearing from any experts and users. Thanks!

Hey there! Did you end up buying the Blaze B820? I’m thinking of buying it, but I’m struggling to find reviews. Your feedback would be welcome.

Hello, I’m just wondering if you purchased the blaze b829? I’d love to hear your feedback if possible.

Hello
Yes i bought the blaxe B820.
My feedback so far:
1. I think its a weak fireplace, its burning capacity is 9kw for its physical size., And its saying warm up to 260m2?? Compared to other brand of same size (physical), they are more powerful in terms of burning capacity, while they most assume they can warm up around up to 260m2. Im still confused with that blaze.
2. It doesn't warm the whole house even mine is half the size of 260 m2
3. It consumes a lot of wood (hard wood only) and doesnt burn hot until 3 hrs. Possible cause of the problem - Recently i found out my flue height is too short thats maybe the reason for not burning hot and doesnt not burn in ash on the last log. The installer will be coming back to extend the flue height, needs a minimum of 3.6m flue height and mine is 2.5m
4. I mostly use my gas heater. Only use the blaze heater for ambiance now. Not so practical to use everyday.
5. It maybe one of the cheapest fireplace and its minimum distance requirement for hearth is quite low when compared to similar size in the market- maybe theres a reason for that but i need to see its performance again once my flue height gets extended.

What did you buy ?

Hope this helps.

My model smokes everytime I open the door to add fuel. With a newborn on the way I've had to just stop using it. I believe this is a manufacturing problem but the company says they fixed the issues with the old model and the smoke issue is not a problem with the current one. Can anyone else tell me if they've bought a recent model and it smokes into their home? Trying to seek a removal and a refund so that I haven't thrown away my money and can afford a better heat source this winter.

As below - we purchase ours in feb 2017 (which I believe is the new design?) and have had consistent issues despite multiple strategies (opening door as you suggest, extending our flu, reversing our heat transfer system to 'blow' air into the room and create positive pressure - non of which seemed to work).
I hope you find a solution - please let me know if you do!

ADDIT; GlenDimplex (supplier of Blaze fires) also supply Masport and other heaters which don't seem to have this issue - perhaps they would consider an exchange to a different model seen as your fire is essentially brand new?

Hello Tez, all wood fireplaces will act differently when the fluing is cold or warm or hot, the quality and type of fuel that is used can also affect the fireplace and its performance. Depending on the aesthetic style you are after, we range Blaze, Nectre and Masport Wood Fuel Fireplaces and I would urge you to visit those websites. I would be more than happy for you to email me directly on [email protected] for more info.

Does anyone else have a problem with smoke in the house? I talked to the supplier and they assured me that is was something to do with the install/My house setup and smoke when opening the door isn't a problem with this model.

I installed this about 6 weeks ago. Despite carefully following the instructions in the manual it smokes into my house everytime I open the door to add extra fuel. The last time I held the door slightly ajar first for close to 5 minutes, still smoke. I'm no longer using it. Installer said the company has told him there's nothing wrong with the model. I've called Department of Fair Trading, trying to sort the problem with installer first before making a complaint. Is yours smoking into the house as well?

Hi VIk D,
Yes - we've had issues for two years and also have a young family so can definitely appreciate your concerns. Our method of dealing with it this winter is to essentially let the fire go out before adding more wood, then re-stock with kindling and repeat the process. It's a pain but stops most the smoke coming out. Of-course you have to be quick when you relight it to get the door closed again!
Today I did have a small win - I took the cap off our cowl and it seems to have reduced the amount of smoke coming into the room when re-stocking...I think! - I need to give it a few days to be sure (it's not completely stopped it, but it's better for sure). I'm going to purchase another cowl which will hopefully help.
The installer and supplier (GlenDimplex Australia) have both been helpful offering solutions, but both have also been quite adamant it isn't the fire box - the more people that respond to this the more I question that fact!
Cheers.

Hey guys,
Me too, got to be so quick to throw the wood in and shut the door quite smartish. From new took so long to finally cure the paint work the smell was so acrid it would water your eyes. To add insult to injury it makes a loud noise when it gets to a certain temp. I have a blaze 500 and bought it in 2017, currently trying to sort this out with BBQ galore Coffs Harbour
