Buttons melted after 3 months - hopeless customer service

We replaced our 15year old Bosch rangehood with with another Bosch in the same cavity . After 3 months, buttons melted and now will no longer switch on . Turns out the the installation clearance has been increased by 5cm . We purchased a Bosch so we wouldn’t have to change our joinery ! So buyers beware, Bosch is obviously cutting cost as years go by by using cheaper materials ... materials that will melt if you don’t raise your rangehood higher despite previous models being fine at the same height for over 15 years . Wonder if the next model will require a even larger clearance....



Purchased in September 2021 at Harvey Norman.

Is this rangehood able to be mounted flush or above the bottom edge of the overhead cupboards? That is, can it be mounted in the cupboard with the bottom of the fascia plate being at the same height or above the bottom edge of the cupboards? I have looked at the specs but it doesn't say it specifically for flush mount as the pictures show.
